  • I just ordered a bunch of stuff to make some body butters and lip balms - I can't wait! Great video and your hands look very smooth (from what is visible)! :)

  • @gypsiemoondancer u will love the butter, one tip make your first batch small because a little goes along way and if u won't to alter your butter u can do that easier if u start out small, good luck and have fun

  • Last night I melted to together some cocoa butter, coconut oil and vitamin E. It came out too hard and greasy. I bought some shea butter today so I will try to re-melt it again and add it. I didn't think to whip it. I will definitely give that a try.

  • Used your mix and it worked out just fine! Cooling shea melted butter slowly is the trick, used bowl in cool water. The mix stayed soft after cooling, just what I wanted. Keeping it simplw is the way, THANK YOU SO MUCH...TRACK :-))

  • @TRACKtoU, I am happy u tried it and tha it worked for u.

stay blessed and thank u for commenting

  • @KidneyGirl91 Thank you.

  • i have a question..i like the cocoa butter unmelted like I am buying it because it is not that super oily..I don't understand why if I am melting the cocoa block and add nothing at all to it..at the end it has a different contency...it is malting a lot faster that it did before aldought i did not added a single drop of oil..can somebody please respond?...thanks

  • @qeeeenve, I am not really sure of the question but melted cocoa butter will harden back up to it's original state once it cools just give it time.

  • which is better for hair, face, and ashey, dry skin... Mango, Shea, or Coconut

  • @MrScottydabody shea, cocoa butter and coconut oil. keep it simple

    thank u 4 your question

  • Looka great, how long does is the shelf-life?

  • @Lovesoaping it will greatly vary depending on where u keep it, u can't keep it at high temp where it heats up and cools down, I keep mine in a cool inviroment and it can last fron 8-12 months, thats y I now make it in smaller batches. thank u for your question.

  • sweet mix. definitely trying that. but fyi, the second eBay link is no longer a store.

  • @akatobi2002 hi ak thank you for the comment I clicked on both links and they work fine.

  • @akatobi2002, I clicked it again and see what u r saying thank U it has been over a year since I bought something from them. again thnak U

  • This looks so good! I will definitely try it.

Does it help even out hyperpigmentation and scars?

  • @Queen91xx try African black soap to help with the hyperpigmentation, the shea butter wont help with that but is great for scars

  • Still craving something rich and tasty after that video. TY Do you mind telling me how you learned how to create such rich organic butters for your ppl and friends abd the heart to share them with me.

  • @Deborahannah1 just like u r doing now watching you tube, I saw a video I can't remember the utuber but thought that butter looked like heaven in abowl, lol and the first time I made it for myself I was in heaven and that's y I had to share what I learned. thank u so much for your comment.

  • I will definitely have to try out this mix...don't do natural body butters but this could be NICE!

  • Thanks for putting me on to this lovely song!

  • Great video!! Just ordered all the raw materials to make my own. Will let you know how it turns out.

  • @chippps1 when starting out make a small amount a little butter goes along way and once its how u like it then make more when ever u want and add different scents, good luck have fun and if u record it please feel free to post as a video response. thank u for watching my vids

  • Great video will be trying this out , can i use avocado oil that i purchase from the supermarket. Also do i have to add less oils if iam adding any fragrance oil/essential oils. :)

  • @Rainbowdrops31 yes u can use avocado oil u will not need much oil, no it doesnt matter about the fragranc oil when u make this for the first time make a small amount, that way if u don't like it u didn't waste a lot of product, thank u for your question and have fun.

  • cool

  • I would recommend to look into hemp oil & Rose hips oil.... Especially rose hips oil as this oil can heal & clear up scars & discolorations. Rose hips oil is highly recommend by dermatologist. Make sure the oils are unrefined and cold press. Organic creations online do sell an 8 oz bottle $14.50 which is better than most places I have seened online.

  • @zabulun I do use hemp oil just not in my butter, thank u for the info I really appreciate it.

  • i really luv your videos. thank u for sharing. God bless u

  • @bridgettep44121 thank u 4 your comment

  • wonderful

  • thank you for such an informative video !!!! so good you just want to eat it :)how long is the shelf life may i ask?

  • @afrobaby25 12 months my butter is used so quicklly because I have a huge family it's usually gone within 4 when u make your's I suggest u make it in a small quantity first that way you know if u like it or not and u may want to tweek it a little for your needs.

    thank u for your comment

  • I dont know much about body butters but I recently bought a tub of the more artificial stuff from The Body shop and I found it to be AMAZING! esp the mango, cocoa and shea butter. You dont need to use heaps at all and it really does "seal" in the moisture.Obviously you know so much about these butters as you can make them yourself...just wanting to know if you think that the body butters from the body shop are any good. I know it has artificial things in it too...but it really makes skin amazing!

  • @cherls15 I find it better making it myself because I know whats in it and the qauntity , the body shop and other companies only use small amounts of shea, cocoa, mango in their products and charge way too much. and my family loves the butters so much it's more ecconimcal for me to make it. thank u for your question

  • Thank you so much i have a question what are the essentials oils you can use? All oils cant be used on hair and body. I am a person who likes sweet smells. If I take away the cocoa butter I can use it for my hair but I want to add a sweet smell. Can I add honey suckle oil or a fruit oil to this? If I ever find them lol. Thank you for the great advise and keep sharing I am doing my big chop soon and I am sooooo ready...........

  • @Smartbooty there are so many oils too many to list here but my fave is lemon grass or jasmine, honey suckle is good just use a scent u like , most of the time I keep it simple and don't add scents because the other butters have scents of their on, like the coconut and the cocoa butter have a great smell by itself. thank u for your question

  • I would like to use this but no one ever gives the amount you use of everything. Can you tell me how much of each to use. Do you know a good place to get essential oils AZ does not have good places for that? Oils for incests but not the body.

  • @Smartbooty hi if u look in the description box the ingredients r listed also I get oils from ebay, thank u for your question

  • thanks alot!!bless up

  • God send video and I've been looking for the right mix w/ the right technique and you've done just that----I live here in ATL as well so I'll be checking out Dekalb Farmers Market for the best butters as well as EBAY---WOW thank you so much because I spend entirely too much money buying butters when I can make my own

  • I like UR videos

    Thanks a lot :)

  • @Mrs1Me1 thank U

  • Thanks KidneyGirl91 for responding sooo soon! That helps me out alot!!! Continue success to you and all your future endeavors...

  • Do the Mango Butter smell like mangos? I like to try this receipe, I am looking for somethings with a nice, pleasant scent!

  • @jackaynetter no the mango butter has a seedy/nuttty smell I like the scent ir gets from the cocoa butter but u can add a little bit of an essential oil to change the svent.

  • I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT! I WILL BE TRYING THIS! Sorry for yelling, but, I'm excited to try it! LOL!

  • the mango and cocoa butter I get from ebay the sellers infois in the discription box and the shea butter and coconut oil I get in Atlanta. if u need the names of the store let me know.

  • Where do you buy your products?

  • If I wanted to add some mango butter to my already mixed shea butter mix, do you think I can add it? Thanks and Merry Christmas

  • @sjohnson3501 yes u can but depending on the temp and firmness of your butter it may take longer to mix. if it doesn't mix well for u just melt it all down and whip it again.

    thank u

  • Comment removed

  • @bjhupy , hi Bj u can't whip it if it's still too warmas as long as u didn't use too much liquid oils it should be ok, the mixture has to cool down and become semi solid again in order to whip it to the right consistency, thank u for your comment

  • can u eat that?

  • @tgriffplayer u can eat coconut oil as well as cocoa butter and in afirca they cook with shea butter but I would not sugjest eating this.

  • @KidneyGirl91 awwww..sigh...it looks good for cake icing...lol...maybe im just hungry

  • If I don't add the 3 teaspoons of vitamin e oil, do you recommend that I add another 3 teaspoons of the avocado oil (or any other oil really) to the mixture to keep the ratio the same?

  • @carrbarre no as long as u r making a small amount u will be fine with out the vitamin e oil it is mainly for preservative.

  • PART 1--Wonderful Tutorial! I came across the video by chance while surfing Youtube, trying to find a "cocoa butter mix". I recently purchase 1 pound of cocoa butter & it's very hard & in chunks. I only wanted to use it on my face & body but I could'nt figure out how to soften it without losing the natural quality of the butter. Thank you so much for showing me that I could melt it in a bowl over hot water & either partially whip it to a softer butter or I could whip it into a fluffy cloud.

  • PART 2---I plan on adding coconut oil & vitamin E to my mixture. Oh & since viewing your video, I will definitely use this mix on my natural hair, I got a free shea butter (raw, light golden color) with my cocoa butter & it's very firm more firmer than my previous shea butter (purchased elsewhere). It's cold where I am so mixing these butters will be the perfect winter, skin & haircare sealing moisturizing treatments!

  • PART 3--P.S.

You said you don't use your mixture in your hair because it would be too heavy, but if you ever find you have too much of it then you could try to get rid of it by using your mixture as a pre shampoo treatment, hot oil treatment, or oil rinse (maybe melt it down for the hot oil/oil rinse treatments) instead of using your oils (if it's cold where you are, it would be good for winter haircare). Just a thought!

  • wow....thanks for the video....I love it and it's all natural. Definitely going to make this.

  • I like it a lot. I'm going to make a second batch today. I even use it as a moisturizer for my face. So far so good. No breakouts! Hopefully this will save me $40 on my Clinique Superdefense.

  • @finallyko great to hear it's working for u and it sure beats paying $40 dollars for a bunch of un natural stuff. thank u for commenting

  • Great instructions! I just made a big batch using this vid as a guide and it came out perfectly. Gave it to family and friends and we're all loving it. I already have requests for more. THANK YOU!!

  • @rogers937 , u r very welcome, thank u for your comment : )) I wish more people would try it. my skin has never felt more softer.

  • You are what you eat. If you quit drinking and eating refined carbohydrates then your skin will be fine. Sunflower seeds are the best for skin, eat them.

  • The end result is an odorless, white butter that may be aesthetically appealing, but lacks the true moisturizing, healing, and nutritive properties of true traditional shea butter. In addition, refined shea butter is often hard and grainy, not smooth and creamy like pure, unrefined shea butter. All that can be said for refined shea butter is that it has an extended shelf life, a white, uniform color, and no odor.

  • The extracted oil is boiled to drive off the toxic solvents, and then refined, bleached, and deodorized, which involves heating it to over 400¡F and the use of harsh chemicals, such as sodium hydroxide. Shea butter extracted in this manner still contains some undesirable solvent residues, and its healing values are significantly reduced. Antioxidants or preservatives such as BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) or BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) may be added as well....

  • Only pure, unrefined shea butter has the true healing and moisturizing properties of shea butter. Most shea butter available to the general public outside West Africa is white and odorless, in other words it has been "refined" to remove the natural scent and color of natural shea butter. In the process, the majority of the effective agents are also removed. In addition, refined shea butter has usually been extracted from the shea kernels with hexane or other petroleum solvents...

  • The shea butter you've purchased is called ivory even though its yellow? If so , thats weird =D Do yu prefer ivory because it is better quality than yellow shea butter?

  • girl i finally am just watching this video....IDK why i didn't do it sooner! it is extremely helpful!!! thx for sharing!!!!

  • I was wondering how your hands were free and still recording lol until you said it was attached to your collar nice vid.

  • Oh my goodness.Thank you so much!!!! I want to try this becuz I have extremely dry skin. Severe allergies which alot of products cause me irritation. I also have exzema. Thanks for the information! Platinum~

  • @bluesplatinumpussy, u should its an excellent butter, your skin will thank u forever.

  • omg, this video is amazing! i didnt know one can make their own body butter! great video. and i love the song used:.)

  • @popmusic5, thank you and yes you can make your own body butter and even butter bars, there fantastic, you should give it a try. thank you for your comment : ))

  • Wow..thank you so much for doing this video1 I just watched your vid about the butters and oils that you use and heard you mention "when you make your body butters" and I thought Hmmmm...I wonder how you make that...LOL so again...Thank You! Shared this vid on my FB ;D

  • Do you sell your body butters? :D

  • Thanks for the video, now I see why mine wasn't smooth and creamy. Gotta be patient and mix longer.

  • does it harden after you whip it....and store at room temp.

  • @JK0223, this whipped butter stayed this way for over 6 months as long as it is not extremely hot where you are and u have not used too much oil, it stays this way. I had a small container that I left in the car and it melted and did not firm back up until it was cooler . thanks for the comment

  • Just finished putting this butter together, added a dash of tea tree oil, jojoba oil and avocado oil and my skin is already addicted. Thank you for this video ;)

  • @latossha1 your skin must be lovin u right now lol, thanks for watching and commenting : ))

  • Do you store this in the fridge or do you keep it at room temperature? How long will a 16 oz amount last before going bad if any?

  • @fernandezrosem I keep this at room temp if u r making it for you I would not use that much because it makes alot of butter more than u will ever need for yourself when I make this quantity I give it to family and friends, as long as u don't get water in the butter it will last more than 8-12 months. thanks for your question

  • It looks really yummy can't wait to try it. Just purchased my butters from the website you posted. Any suggestions on how much of the butters I should use since that's too much for just little ol me? and if I store the used portions can't I keep it in the fridge or freezer so they won't spoil? I got 1 lb of each.

  • @fernandezrosem the first time u make it try 2-4 oz of each butter that u have and just a little oil u will not need much like a few drops, also the extra butters u have u can keep in the freezer just make sure they r wraped up very well.

  • @KidneyGirl91 Your video really inspired me to make my own body butter. I was searching online for the cocoa butter. Where do you purchase yours? - bbritters5

  • @bbritters5

cocoabutterstore on ebay the link is above in the decription box

  • i will love to try this

  • thanx 4 this video i have really bad dry skin on my face mostly around my mouth for some reason and it itches very very bad at times and turns that area very dark imma buy the same stuff and try it i'll let you know how it works on my face thanx again

  • Looking further I see I repeated the question so many others have asked. Sorry, but I was so inspired! Please keep making videos!

  • I love your videos! This looks absolutely wonderful. Have you ever tried it in your hair?

  • @sissimpson no I don't use it on my hair I am relaxed and I find it too heavy, thanks for your question.

  • Did you buy your shea butter at DFM? How much was it?

  • @ACTINGDRAMA , no I was getting it from ebay until I found it locallly at a health food store call Sevananda Natural Foods Market in Little Five Points - Atlanta, GA.

  • @KidneyGirl91 I think will go there then. Thanks.

  • i can't believe it's not butter!!

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the video! Could you send me the seller's info where you but your butters on ebay?

  • @Ifeomao1289, if u look in the info box above there are links for the ebay sellers. thank u for making my vid one of your favorites.

  • i have recently watched a few of your video's on whipping your shea butter, thank you for making it look easy..I did a small batch on yesterday and it applied to my hair, it was super, super soft and easily to apply.THANK you very much..I have questions as to how to get it as fluffy as your video and were can I purchase blocks of the product at a trusted site or were?

  • @ThsIsMeSwt47 i'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this message, I find the more I whip it the fluffier it gets, I buy my oils and shea butter locally, my cocoa and mango butter I get from ebay, I can give u the sellers info if u want it.

  • Lovely!

  • This was an excellent video! I believe you said that this mixture is used on your skin. Do you have a video where you mix the ingredients for your hair and if so, is there any other special oils you mix with it? I think I am going to try this as soon as I order the products. You order on ebay, is it expensive?

  • Hi, great videos! Question: What is the benefit to melting ingredients vs your other video where you didn't?

  • @franchise000, some of the butters are hard and need to be melted down in order to mix them well like cocoa butter. etc in the video whipped shea the easy way I didn't use any hard butters. thank U 4 your question

  • Question: if you don't use a preservation do you have to store the mixture and/or the ingredients in the fridge?

  • @MIAhaitian19, no I make sure I don't get any water in it and after I make a big batch of it I put it in smaller containers so I have more as I need it and I give it away to family and friends so it doesn't last long, but u can use preserves if u need to. thanks 4 the question

  • Great video. I have two questions do you keep the extra ingredients in the freeze? And who long is the self life of this body butter?

    Thank you

  • @lipbalmlover3, no I keep them in a cool dry place, some items are 1-2 years, shea does not it just loses some of its benefits the older it gets. thank U 4 the question

  • This is a great recipe! Thanks for sharing!

  • @SPARKWISDOM thank u so much : )

  • I have a ? for you, when you whip it does it stay that way or revert back to liquid?

  • @aakapella it depends on a few things I have found when I use too much liquid oils or if the weather is very hot it will become more liquidy, I hope that helps and I didn't make it more confusing.

  • I AM SO ABOUT TO DO IT!

thx for the video, i have all my ingredients, i am so ready

i've seen other vids and most were like warming in up il the microwave but ur method seems much better!

    merci!! (lol im french)

  • thanks for sharing......I think I like the whipped consistency better....great job

  • ...oh and what do you use as a preservative? Vitamin E?

  • @juanitads tea tree oil.

  • Hello again! There´s something more I would like to ask you: Where do you store all your ingredients to make the body butter? In the refrigerator? I´ll appreciate your answer! Greetings!

    XOXO.

  • @juanitads I have a big plactic storage bin that I keep my butters and oils in that way when I want to mix something up I can find everything I need in one place, I dont keep anything in the fridge.

  • do you know where I can order Spectrum brand oils or the coconut oil that you use?

  • @happygirlej1, I purchase mine from my local farmers market, you can find it on ebay as well, also at the grocery store check the organics dept, good luck

    Leslee

  • what´s the name of the tune in this video? i love it! by the way i tried your recipe and it is just GREAT! loved it!

    xoxo.

  • @juanitads, chrisette Michele, best of me, I am so happy you tried it and you like it, my skin is addicted

    stay blessed

  • Where can I get mango butter from locally? Health Food Store?

  • @ahsenerb27 I have not been able to find it locally, I get mine from a really great seller on ebay that sells all types of butters sellers info in description box, if you can't get mango try cocoa butter. have fun

    Leslee

  • I'm going to try this! It looks so good!!!

  • thanks for the vid! I love your method for melting down the butters and cooling them gradually! ^_^

  • This is a great video thanks for sharing.

  • it looks so yummy!

which consistency do you like/ works best for you?

  • @iluvpenguins007, I like more of a solid consistency, my mom likes it whipped. so that is why I make both.

  • hey thank you for the video

do i need the oils to whip the butter? i only have plain shea

  • @iluvpenguins007 , the oils help keep it light and whipped, I have found that when I don't use oils it will be hard like it was originally, try the coconut oil or olive oil with your shea and see how that works for you.

  • I will definitely be trying this concoction. I want to use it on skin and hair.

  • What a great video and the cool music.

Is that Corrine Bailey Rae singing?

    Thanks so much!

  • @Noveechops59 ,thank yoiu I am happy you liked it, no it is CHRISETTE MICHELE

  • @Noveechops59 no once it is whipped it will be fine.

  • That looks pretty good to me. Great Job!

  • @naturalbornqueen thank you, I love shea, coconut and cocoa butter their the best you can use on your skin.

  • hi, is the texture creamy even now after 2 weeks? and have you ever whipped it without melting the butters? if so any difference? thx

  • @JAMANIJAMANI yes it is still creamy.

  • hi, is the texture creamy even now after 2 weeks? and have you ever whipped it without melting the butters? if so any difference? thx
