I was the PIC on this flight we came in from Kadena during friendship day just as the airshow was ending.F/O Paul D made the nice landing.Vref was around 140Kts

The video is fast or something, I have flown on tha plane tons of times as crew and pax , yes it seemed fast but it could not be real you can tell by the smoke from the tires @ landing etc etc.

American Trans Air. Started as and Indianapolis-based charter airline in 1973 with one Boeing 707. Through the 1980's they experienced tremendous growth and expanded their destinations and fleet to 30 aircraft, mainly Boeing 707's & Lockheed L1011's.

Then in the middle 1990's they tried to become a 'regular' airline and started buying gates and replacing their fleet with 737's and 757's this was their downfall.

They filed bankruptcy for the second and final time last week ceasing operations.
