Ridiculous! Essien is twice the player Ramires is. Ramires only has more pace and scoring ability. Essien has more technical ability, is physically MUCH stronger and is a much better passer. He is a far more intelligent player than Ramires. Essien is a proven world class midfielder. Ramires is not.

@IllSk1llz In his prime 2+ years ago, yes, i would agree, but not now. He is too slow and he has had major surgery on both knees. Ramires is the engine of our midfield currently and is the only one that gets things moving and injects any sort of pace and urgency. He is young and can only get better. Granted, there are aspects to his game which can be improved, but he has far and away been our best midfielder this season and shall be missed and his absence will be felt against Yernited

Yes, he has been our best midfielder this season but that doesn't mean he is better than the best box-to-box midfielder in the world. He is not world class and he will never be. He doesn't even have the technical qualities or passing ability. He makes it up for his workrate and pace. He has been our best midfielder by miles because our midfield is disjointed and lacks cohesion. Ramires is always at hist best late in the game because he has so much stamina.

Where the other players around him get tired, he still has alot left in him. Thats why you can see him bombarding the pitch even in the last minutes. His pace is also

crucical during counter attacks. But the football AVB is trying to play will be dominant football not counter attack football. Ramires is not the technically gifted player that is

needed for possession football with alot of pressing and a high ball circulation.
