Despite the fact these two phones appear to perform remotely the same it was an unfair "comparison" Considering the custom kernel you have on the GNex could be hindering or benefiting it. I will say, my NON Custom GNex out performs S2's with no problem.
You want to do a true comparison, then you need to 1) wipe both phones. 2) Restore the stock ROM to the GNex and the Stock ROM to the S2 if you were using one.

Which scripts did they edit? There's a whole bunch of things that differ when you flash something vs stock

Both your title and your statments in the video makes one believe you are comparing the actual phone's themselves, you aren't. Due to the fact that errors and glitches could be in either or both custom ROM's utterly voids this as an accurate test of anything except X ROM vs Y ROM.

The difference in scrolling is because your nexus has ICS where as the SGS2 only has an ICS theme. The scrolling in ICS has been smoothed over from previous versions of android.
there are too many factors to consider before doing such a test, there are other videos which show the nexus being considerably faster in terms of loading pages and such. Additionally, on several occasions on the videos links were not pressed at the same time. Not that such differences should affect peoples decisions in terms of which is better. IMO the screen resolution on the nexus is quite significant and apparent which a bigger battery. And perhaps the gs2 might be difference with ICS

The s2 is has unofficial software so it's already not fair comparing them. Rooted phones are obviously faster. Also I'm sure you have adblock for the s2.. that makes the browser faster. I'm sure the s2 has a lot of buggs and it certainly doesn't have the hardware like the nexus. Also your nexus takes a really long time to boot, mine does it in seconds. So conclusion is you're probably a gs2 fanboy and this isn't a fair comparison. People don't make decissions based on this video!

They still use tw recently upgraded 2 4.0 & its very fluid as well as a lot of added features 2make it more convenient & practical. @MrJsh01 The Galaxy S2 & the GNexus r both a go. I have an epic touch gs2 through sprint & its definitely not jerky. It is fast but if u barely slide ur finger up or down it barely moves, the faster u slide ur finger the faster it scrolls. The GS2 just has a broader range of scrolling but both r extremely smooth. DL screen adjuster market place if u want 2 adjust the contrast although the gnexus is sharper but the color r deeper/more vivid on the gs2. U' might like the gnex better tho.
Just take a look at the beginning of the video. Those blacks are absolutely impenetrable. You never really realize how much deeper blacks can affect your viewing experience until you're able to use it for a while. Let me tell you, it blows you away.

I know what you mean, I love my droids, Iphone's are very refined though and do scroll very smooth, my droid phones have always been alot more jumpy scrolling speeding to the top or bottom of the page with barely a tap, the iphone senses the movement of your finger better as if you where sliding a physhical object..

Ok guys i am going to be completely honest here. My friend has a GS2 and i went into the store with him and played with a Gnex before making a decision on which one i bought. I hands down went for the Gnex. The Gnex in this video is screwed. My Gnex runs very very quick. The difference between the 2 phones is VERY minimal and hardly noticable in terms of speed. Remember the Gnex has a higher res screen though that the processor has to contend with so i would say Gnex wins performance.

If both phones are on wifi, then when loading webpages etc., wouldn't the one he presses the button on first (even a microsecond) "hog the bandwidth" so to speak, allowing a slight edge? @tarutan21 You look at Specs, Durability, and weight with the Design. Web Page loading is pretty important spec-wise. Your Processor and Data Speed makes up web page speeds. A Dual-Core Exynos Processor vs. a TI OMAP Processor is no competition at all. Exynos has better specs overall.

I am a Samsung Galaxy S II owner and this video gave me a lot of hope back. I don't care that much about themes or look as long as I can check my emails, socialize with friends, watch hd videos, play games, take photos etc as good as SGS2 does. I installed 4.0.3 lately on the S2, it doesn't have that much difference but has some good ICS features that you can find on the Galaxy Nexus, it's fast and it doesn't have bugs. That's all I need. When i look at the screens my biggest complaint for the nexus would be not having super amoled plus over that pentile crap. if they can fix that they can have the best screen displays easy.
GS2 is in a class of its own! A champion smartphone that proved Android can be a lag free experience. The Nexus looks choppy to me. Especially in the maps and Facebook. Its unforgivable lag that shouldn't be there. GS2 is the best smartphone period.

Ok guys i am going to be completely honest here. My friend has a GS2 and i went into the store with him and played with a Gnex before making a decision on which one i bought. I hands down went for the Gnex. The Gnex in this video is screwed. My Gnex runs very very quick. The difference between the 2 phones is VERY minimal and hardly noticable in terms of speed. Remember the Gnex has a higher res screen though that the processor has to contend with so i would say Gnex wins performance.

@webz2k I'm wondering if it's really a fair test. If both phones are on wifi, then when loading webpages etc., wouldn't the one he presses the button on first (even a microsecond) "hog the bandwidth" so to speak, allowing a slight edge? You'd think the Nexus would be a hands-down winner and the test would just be to show by how wide a margin.

they are both the same phone,they only difference is OS and design and the reason the nexus comes with a disappointing 5mp camera is so next year they can upgrade it to an 8mp cam, slap a new name and case on it and market it as a new flagship phone

omg really? does it matter if one phone loads a webpage .05 seconds faster than the other? When deciding on one of these phones you look at design, functionality, durability, and of all those qualities ask yourself which one you like and need more.

@tarutan21 You look at Specs, Durability, and weight with the Design. Web Page loading is pretty important spec-wise. Your Processor and Data Speed makes up web page speeds. A Dual-Core Exynos Processor vs. a TI OMAP Processor is no competition at all. Exynos has better specs overall.

I am a Samsung Galaxy S II owner and this video gave me a lot of hope back. I don't care that much about themes or look as long as I can check my emails, socialize with friends, watch hd videos, play games, take photos etc as good as SGS2 does. I installed 4.0.3 lately on the S2, it doesn't have that much difference but has some good ICS features that you can find on the Galaxy Nexus, it's fast and it doesn't have bugs. That's all I need. GS2 is in a class of its own! A champion smartphone that proved Android can be a lag free experience. The Nexus looks choppy to me. Especially in the maps and Facebook. Its unforgivable lag that shouldn't be there. GS2 is the best smartphone period.

They are basically the same performance wise. Therefore my argument is to save money and just get the SII.
