  • @pwalpar I remember the DIRTY "D'S " DASH , DIRECT , DOMINANT and 1 other . They crossed the Atlantic , mostly in tow , to reach the "MED"  in 71/72

  • @bikerguy220 I also served on the MSO 421 , USS Agile -- which was at the same Base , in Charleston , SC -- The AFFRAY was a sister ship to the MSO 421 , USS Agile

  • I was on the USS Impervious MSO 449 Oct 70 toFeb 73 Haiphong Harbor.Based out of Guam.Did the Guam to Nam local.Not much liberty port fun, all work! Operation End Sweep,27 hours straight in the mine fields on time.Lost a hammer box and a pig!I was a SMSA going onboard,left a SM2 and went to the Starship Enterprise for my final year.SM2 Vincent.

  • Bob Rosenberg, the corpsman on the Jacana was a good friend of mine.

  • I was the corpsman on the Limpkin in 1968.At the end of that year, we handed it over to the reserves in Perth Amboy, NJ

  • I was on the Limpkin in 66 for a few months before being transfered to the Jacanna to take the Damage Controlman Job. We put the Jacanna into the reserves at Fall River Mass in 68, thanks for commenting

  • Thanks for the great photo's! My father served on the USS Fortify, MSO-446 roughly during the same years. He was part of the West Pac tour. We lost him 10 years ago, so it is always nice to see photos from others that also served. Thanks for everything you have done!

  • Thank you so much for this video. I served on minesweepers ( USS BOLD MSO 424 and the USS EXPLOIT MSO 440 ) out of Charleston, SC from 1969 through 1973. Wasn't easy duty, but now the memories are proud and fond and the crew was close knit. Too bad they destroyed them...but at least not our memories. Thanks again for sharing ! Gene H.

  • I was an Electrician's Mate 2nd on USS Inflict MSO 456 at Long Beach Nav Sta from 1958 thru 1962 I remember them well! Great Job- I have a TON of black and white pix from those days. MinDiv 71, MinRon 7 USS Fortify, USS Loyalty, USS Engage, USS Inflict, and USS Impervious

  • I was a Damage controlman but underway, I stood engine room watchs. Lots of times we were on port and straboard duty underway. 6hrs on 6 hrs off. There were tough times but we managed some good times as well. Thanks for watching and commenting.
