Fans tend to forget that the Lisa from SH: Origins is the 'real' Lisa - whiny, ugly, and whacked out on drugs most of the time, whereas the kinder, gentler (and better-looking) one in the original Silent Hill is a ghost, a figment of Alessa's imagination in which Alessa saw Lisa as a caring and nurturing spirit. Alessa's very limited experiences with Lisa were only in the hospital, so obviously Alessa had no idea what Lisa was like outside of her job.

This game had an alright story, not the best, and the blood and gore effects were awful, but it still managed to scare me at times. I have to say, SH2 was one of those games I play, that make me never want to play anything else. Most games are fun to play, and I wanna skip cutscenes and jump back into action, but SH2 was about the story. I just wanted to see the next cutscene. Best game of my life.

I found a detailed blog describing Origins... and a lot of it makes sense. Why Lisa was freaking out here, why Alessa asked for Travis to let her burn one minute, and then she helps him get out. Origin's Beta looked terrible, but suddenly all of this came out of it and it really impressed me how much Climax did "get" the mythology. Now they're raising the bar with SH:SM. Climax isn't a perfect developer, but they certainly did a better job at capturing Silent Hill than Double Helix did with SHH

I agree entirely! Even her personality seemed different in the original Silent Hill. She was such a charismatic character, the sympathy gravitated towards her.

In Origins, she's like some skanky crackho'. It's like her background went from empathetic sweet girl with educated background, to some bimbo. Two different people. Totally ruined the concept of Lisa Garland.

You used to love her as a character and want to talk to her, hold her. In Origins, you couldn't care less about that brick.
