Compared to Majora's Mask, this game is sunshine and lollypops. Three days until everyone dies vs. everyone lives as if nothing happened. Everything just changed color and the people unknowingly change into souls.
I always pravyed for the day my two fantasy worlds would come together... Conan the Barbarian + Zelda. There's another point almost straigt out of the Conan realm, when the old hero (whatever you call him) that teaches you the signature moves says something about a sword has no strength unless it is wielded by a hand that bears courage, that's pretty much the Riddle of Steel spoken about in the film. Awesomeness.
Ganon returned, there was no link to save anyone, so they prayed to the gods. In turn, the gods sealed Hyrule beneath the ocean, and none were heard from again, except small legends. At the climax of the game, Hyrule is flooded and destroyed forever.
Ruined, compared to that video, the game was terrible. I loved TP, but c'mon Nintendo! Give us a place to explore, Remember Majora's Mask? With the people who had a life, schedules. an the like? Amazing.

This trailer looked amazing. To be honest, i think they made the game a bit too family friendly. Even though it was particularly dark, it would have worked so much better if Nintendo had made it for an older auudience
If you want family friendly games, you have mario and starfox and all the others. But i think Zelda can afford to go a bit darker.
Zelda was never a "mature audiences only" game, whether the direction was whimsical like Phantom Hourglass and Wind Waker or a bit on the darker side like Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess, Zelda has always been basically appropriate for all ages.
If you want an "adults only" game, Zelda is simply never going to be that. Butting blood or swearing in something doesn't make it better for adults, it just makes in inappropriate for children.
just because he said "older" doesn't mean it has to have swear words and blood in it! I completely get what GameGeezerGibbo is saying, they could go a little darker! I'm a Zelda fanatic and I think there were a couple of parts in the storyline where the plot was almost too innocent, where you wanted something bad to happen but it didn't! :( I agree it was an awesome game!!!:D but they could have taken it even a little bit further given that it's already rated "teen"
Well, whenever I hear people talking about making a Zelda game darker than Twilight Princess these are usually the same people who boycott anything thats not M rated.
I do however, believe that the the sense of fear and dread ended too soon in Twilight Princess's storyline for it's own good.
From the third Twilit Insect sequence on, the Twilight poses no threat to Hyrule, and the people no longer seem to harbor any fear of it.
At least in OOT everyone was afraid once Ganon took the throne.
Sigh, i remember when the first trailer came out, on e3, when i got home i went IGN and checked it out so many times, man i was hyping upp for this game, the other trailer with lame ass music.... well i never saw it until a few months ago.

I'd say Wind Waker was pretty dark to be honest. The begining with everyone drowning, and Hyrule being lost..

The original music was actually LESS thrilling when he stabbed the cat. In fact the music almost did nothing for the trailer.
Oh yeah, and you know who changed the music? Nintendo did when they first released this trailer at E3.

You can't, closest is Riders of Steel from the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack. This was re-recorded for Ocarina of Time.
