@Likeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Hey thx for watching! I currently don't know the exact on this bike. I'm going to take it to a dyno soon, and test it though! Don't miss my future videos!
Im a huge fan of giant two strokes. I have two husky 500's and one 430 ( '86 white elephants) You must, at the very least raise the clip on the needle at least of one notch but I think I would go two from the sound of that blubbering monster. And start hunting for a smaller main jet. Your making maybe 35 hp. Clean that jetting up and you'll really know what you have there! They all come with with terribly rich jetting that must be changed after break-in . Jeff Portland Or
That was fun. Been awhile since I've watched this. Haven't had a chance to get going on my 500XC project bike yet. Been distracted by other stuff. Think I'm going to get working on mine right after the first of the year. Still can't wait. Looks like a fun bike to ride. That's a really wide opened area there. The terrain in alot of ways actually reminds me of desert riding around here (Phoenix, years ago). The sand there looks kinda hard packed in places (fun). Been riding recently?
@SixSpeedSS Hey thanks for coming back and watching again! Oh yeah thatll be great once you start working on it, its an AWESOME bike. I'd love to get an aftermarket muffler/exhaust for it though that would be nice. Yeah its very wide open! and a lot of fun! Some loose sand, and some packed stuff. Along with jumps and some hills so its a great mix! I haven't been riding at those sand dunes recently, but I've been riding around my house. I'll have new videos of new terrain soon hopefully!
@SniperShot891 Yeah, looks like a ton of fun, and a great work-out to boot.
What's the issue with your exhaust and silencer? Some issues there can be more easily repaired/corrected than one might think. But I do believe there is atleast one company that does still make new pipes and silencers for these. Forget the name off the top of my head.
@SixSpeedSS Nothings wrong actually! I have just heard comments from people that I should upgrade it and that they've noticed a power difference on their CR500's from the upgrades, so I was considering potentially upgrading sometime. That would be nice if it actually helped.
I imagine, depending on the sand condition, a paddle would still really help. Do you agree???? I'm hopeing once I get mine built, that I can move to the northwest, and I'm dieing to ride the Oregon dunes rec area on the coast.
Even thinking of crossing one of these with a 250r atc, for a dune rocket ship with Hooska 500cc 6spd power on tap. Lots of custom trikes out there.
This clip reminds me of how physical riding is, even though your taking it easy. Should be good for me. Whoops yahoo!
I never knew the "powerband" was a part, lol jk. If the carb is clean jetting you can lug it all day and never foul a plug. Ive got a 1987 430XC runs like a charm. Rear shock is a joke, too soft. Gonna fix that and a PVL Ignition for easier starting and quicker revving... You can teach a old dog new tricks.
looks like such a great palce to ride....get another vid of this and go flat out at some point, i really want to see waht the speed of your bike goes at! KEEP IT UP
@SixSpeedSS Yeah this was my first time riding at the sand dunes! It was a lot of fun out there. I didn't go as fast as I could have, because by the time I accelerated fast I would be at another "hill" ledge and couldn't see if someone was coming over the hill. So I wanted to be careful. But it felt real fast.
@SniperShot891 Sure looked like fun. I know what you mean though about not being able to see on the other side. Years ago when I used to be really into riding, I had alot of friends that rode as well. One of the pluses of being in a group is once you know it's clear on the other side, you can post somebody on the hill to keep a watch so you can go back through a section all out. Otherwise, yeah, you have to play it safe forsure.
Sand dunes are hard:) my xr slid out alot at Beverly

@SniperShot891 Interesting. I hadn't heard any real input on different pipes for these, but was curious too.

not to be rude but you need to hit the power band or you will foul your plug

@kx250fox5 It was just fine all day, it doesn't foul plugs too often and I ride in the powerband often. I know how it works

@XxS1L3NTxSN1P3xX Thank you! I know I will. That definitely wasn't top speed at all in this video, so I need to open it up!

Wow, interesting terrain/riding area. Looks like a guy could really go wide open in a few places.
