Firstly, You are correct. Referring to God in any text is a shuddering experience for me. Where it be positive, negative or neutral. The debate seems as endless and mystifying as he may or may not be.

Secondly, You can interpret his words as you wish however I interpret did not see them as "primitive" = father and "modern" = son. I saw them as 3.2 billion years ago, and 25,000 years ago we did not grasp the universe as we do now. Without his consent I cannot speculate on his wisdom.
