Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Armor locking elites glitch on Silent Cartographer

Happened to me back in 2002 this elite was doing this, waAay before anniversary came out

Friendly fire isn't possible because they wouldn't have anything to shoot at, no grenades because there was no one to throw grenades at, there is no place high enough to take any fall damage

plus they aren't even shields they are just.... like that.

And I was just making an observation, it doesn't have to be right. Anyway, it's clearly just a glitch that caused it to freeze; and those are definetly shields.

ok I don't have anniversary (I wish I did) but one time I wuz playing halo combat evolved and I wuz doing the Pillar of Autumn and for some reason and elite minor did and armor lock for 3 seconds, so i chucked plasmas and they blew up but his shields never went down and my marines started shooting him but would not die. So I think the reason they are doing armor lock in halo anniversary is because halo reach came out

@101tongan There is no elite hero and there is no DLC for HCEA. but in REACH there is a downloadable elite armor perm called Elite Officer which is what that is.

i had this glitch before in the original halo 1, i think keys was frozen in place so i threw like 500k plasmas on him because i had infinity gernades from the glitch.

Okay, they're not armor locking. They're frozen in the animation they use when they land. Their shields are glowing because they probably just took some fall damage or something. Either way, probably the load glitch.

@halochief980 more specifically analyzing stuff puts it into the library so you can go look at it later if you have a Kinect. Also its not only species of stuff it shows you other things like the shortsword at the end (longsword?) and other stuff that seems kinda derpy like the marines etc

btw this happened once about six years ago when i was playing keye's with my friend only it was an infection form flood and it just floated there, we stuck it several times, and missed several but all of them just kinda stopped, hell he fired a rocket at it and the rocket just kinda froze in front of it. then of course when we rounded the corner we heard about twenty explosions.

Was playing CoOp the other day and my screen froze but I was still playing and could kill while the enemy ignored me. Odd but cool. Also funny to have to be lead around blind by your co-op partner.

Here's an explanation as to why that happens: Halo CE loads maps in "segments" - Each segment contains a part of the map, AI enemies, weapons and such. Upon going to the next segment of the map, it loads a little bit more of the rest of the level, but to save on processing memory, AI, physics and animations get disabled from the previous segment which is why when you glitch a level, and go back to a previous segment without it being loaded correctly, AI's (like that Elite) freeze.

this is a loading glitch that was present in the the original game itself. It is easiest to do on attack on the control room but u just basically pass a loading screen after a set of enemies are generated and when u go back they are frozen like that. if u move to far away they unfreeze.
