  • How did I not comment on this sickness . . . it's one of my first YouTube favorites ever that I listened to years ago. Lovely beat, but his bars really steal the show . . . so thoro! Electronica and Cole both holdin' hip-hop hardbody . . . big ups 2 both of 'em.

  • JAY LECTRONICA - THE PLEDGE

its all i have to say

  • i hope he wasnt dissing Kurt Cobain, or Nirvana in anyway... i would loose many years of respect if so...

  • @RockeRsByMyySidE uuh no:)

  • THIS fuckn trac is koooollllddddd as fuck ..............WE NEED MORE OF THIS KIND OF HIP HOP..............JUST DONT FALL OFF LORD ALL IS WELL

  • How does Jay keep comin' with these hot ass rhymes? This dude is unreal. Underground all day. Gucci, Waka, Wayne, Drake and all you other little shits take notes.

  • "Real rap"... that's also just a perspective. Rap / Hip-Hop is so confusing and everyone looks at it a different perspective. It's culture, music, lifestyle, clothing, "swag", etc label. What if "real rap" is Lil' B or Soulja Boy to someone. Lyricism does not automatically equal "real rap" music. There's always been different types of music of rap through the eras and this generations' just sounds worst the older you seem to get... I guess what's good to you is just what you grew with.

  • @BreatheCreativity You're absolutely wrong... to an extent. Lil B and Soulja Boy are not the definition of real rap through any eyes. They talk about materialistic things, things that don't matter. They talk about hoes, money, and drugs. Something that is completely and utterly irrelevant to today's society. That is not real rap. It is fake rape. They are fake, ignorant, and useless. Jay is real, knowledgeable, and informed. Something Lil B, and Soulja boy are not.

  • @iN31L You know Lil B is actually good right? He only makes those bullshit songs to get attention. Listen to The Age Of Information, Cold War, D.O.R., Realist Alive, Real Life, Walk The World, etc.. He's deep as hell. And as for Soulja Boy....yeah he sucks. Lol

  • @coriejay You are a good example on how ignorant some people are. Lil B is not good. Trust me, I've listened to those songs. If you think they're deep, you've got another thing coming. "I'm militant, I'm very based, I'm very proper, you want the war, you bring the troops, I'll bring the chopper." - You think that shit's deep? You want deep? Listen to Keisha's Song by Kendrick Lamar. That's deep. Please prove to me how Lil B is deep. Give me some lines. Lil B is the worst rapper to ever exist.

  • Comment removed

  • @iN31L Ok well that's your opinion. I listen to Kendrick Lamar as well. One of the best new rappers out right now. You sound like one of those close minded biased hip hop elitist assholes, so I'm not even gonna waste my time debating about Lil B with you. And the fact that you have heard his real songs and still think that he is the worst rapper proves to me that you are biased and don't know shit about hip hop. He's nowhere near the best rapper, but he's not the worst. You're retarded.

  • @coriejay "Biased Hip Hop Elitists Assholes"? C'mon. I love listening to all types of music. I love Kenrick, Jay, Ye, Wiz, J Cole, TI, Tyga, Mac Miller, Big L, KRS, Em, Danny Brown, Domo, Drake, and basically any mainstream artist you can name. I am no elitist asshole. I even have over a dozen Lil B songs on my iPod. They're humorous. And it's humorous you find them serious and real. And I'll ask again, tell me why you think Lil B is deep.

  • @iN31L Because he spreads positivity and most of his music has some meaning to them if you listen carefully. (excluding his cooking songs). Like that song The Age Of Information, he raps about how the human race isn't progressing as much as technology has and how ppl judge others. That was pretty deep. Ppl say Lil B sucks(I used to be on of those ppl too), but haven't heard his conscious songs. I fail to understand how he's the worst rapper alive. He's decent.

  • @coriejay Are you serious? Okay, 2 things: If you say "Suck my dick, hoe, Bieber is my wife", in one song, and then "Let's stop the hate, we are all one person", in another, that's just bullshit. He's a fake ass, whack ass rapper. Secondly, this is the problem, here's an example. People say Drake is deep because he talks about relationships etc. But if you want deep shit about relationships, there are 100 other rappers who do it better. Lil B talks about "deep" shit, but does it terribly.

  • @iN31L Those "suck my dick" songs are only joke songs. Nobody takes them seriously as real hip hop. Nothing wrong with having fun once in a while. Now as for his deep songs. Lil B's style in a nutshell is a free mind/free spirit. If you hear some old stuff with the Pack, he actually has a generic flow. He purposely broke away from that to a more stream of consciousness flow. He found a comfort zone for his message. So it's not that it's terrible rapping. It's more like spoken word poetry.

  • @coriejay When Lil B "tries", he's a shitty smilie rapper. And his flow is a "consciousness flow"? What does that even mean? He talks, and he sounds like he is foaming at the mouth when he raps. The only thing worse than Lil B, are his fans. I think you've proved that.

  • @coriejay /watch?v=hyuU-Ek-TX0 - Is that good rap?

  • @iN31L To be honest, your opinion of Lil B is really insignificant next to the collective opinions of a couple hip hop artists who have rapped professionally for a long time. Lupe Fiasco, Jean Grae, Cormega, 9th Wonder, Phonte, Talib Kweli, Jay Electronica, Kanye West, Jadakiss, J. Cole, etc all respect Lil B for what he is doing and the positivity he is bringing to the rap game. I couldn't careless about what a random person on the internet has to say about Lil B and his fans.

  • @coriejay lol i've never heard talib kweli talk about how re respected Lil B's music. Or Jay Electronica lmao. Positivity to the rap game? God damn you're brain washed. And you obviously did care what that dude had to say since you kept replying to him and trying to convince him. lol gtf.

  • @Caron3Butler U mad?

  • @coriejay naahhh im just on my wonton soup swag. swag. cookin swag. whoop whoop swag bitch paranthathang thang. whoop. whoop. whoop. <-----damn that was real hip hop right there.

  • @Caron3Butler I'm happy I'm not the only one who finds this guy truly idiotic. Lil B is ass. His fans are ass. Everything he has ever said, or will say, is ass. Ass, ass, ass.

  • @iN31L You're ass.

  • @coriejay I actually thought you contained some form of intelligence inside of your brain at the start of the argument. Now you just sound stupid and immature. What self respecting person says "Cool story bro! :D" anymore?

  • @coriejay AND YES I made this beat......you can almost tell........WHERE did it come from..............WHY does it sound like an instant classic, WHAT's the beginning about if it isn't completely stolen from someone else's inspiration..........ALL OF THE RHYME is me = Jon Pierson WHY secret identities is no joke as sarcastic to me..HOW good my actual album is but how heart breaking that RHONDA BYRNE steal from the mind world is.....it's still unbelievable to people MySpaceDOTcom/itsJUSTnudity

  • @coriejay i agree lil b is good his shit is deep he gets on some real hip hop shit when he wants to, He only does the stupid songs to have fun. Dont argue with that clown man.

  • @iN31L

You'll be surprised at the type of people who used to think Soulja Boy was real rap (ignorant kids) and Lil' B seems to be everyone's favorite comedian rapper. If hoes, money and drugs are irrelevant, why are so many people buying records from rappers who talk about it. Name a couple modern rap artist who doesn't talk about hoes, money and drugs in their subject matter. It's hard for me to think of even one.

  • @BreatheCreativity AND YES I made this beat......you can almost tell....WHERE did it come from...........WHY does it sound like an instant classic, WHAT's the beginning about if it isn't completely stolen from someone else's inspiration..........ALL OF THE RHYME is me = Jon Pierson WHY secret identities is no joke as sarcastic to me..HOW good my actual album is but how heart breaking that RHONDA BYRNE steal from the mind world is.....it's still unbelievable to people MySpaceDOTcom/itsJUSTnudity

  • @BreatheCreativity I agree and disagree brodee. i agree cuz yea everyone has perspective bu at the same time "real" most of the time i think comes from we talkin about cats who spit about "real" topics and issues in life in the hood and wherever u from. Some say that artists such as Soulja boy and other rappers similar to him are not talkin about anything real just whips and chains like a slave brodee.

  • Lil B is a real ass mothafucka. have you actually checked out his shit? @BreatheCreativity

  • @Nirvana25100 no offence but i think hes bad but odd future"s earl sweatshirt is amazing

  • @BreatheCreativity I have to disagree. I grew up with the likes of T.I. and 50 dominating the game and although I still have a spot for them on my iPod because they introduced me to Hip Hop, I have since learned more about the art of emceeing and the meaning of Hip Hop itself and there is no doubt in my mind that as far as rapping goes, there is definitely "better" and a "worse". For example, Jay Electronica is better than Lil Wayne. You cannot dispute this if you know rap.

  • @tazman91 Same here, started with Cube, 50, and Pac, and since then I've listened to everyone from Shing02/Nujabes & Kero One to Gravediggas & Tech N9ne. I have my own personal preferences, and it doesn't matter whether your music's negative, positive, abstract, or concrete, but I gotta say; if you aren't being lyrical, what are you doing in this genre? That's what hip-hop is based on.

  • @BreatheCreativity

    so true

  • @BreatheCreativity That aint true, Theres a reason why Elvis started in Country music & ended as the King of Rock-N-Roll, because u can manipulate a genre so much till it has none of the original components and that in turn creates a new genre. I have no problem with the new generation. Im raised in it. But its not Hip/Hop, this shit is turning to some RnB/Pop shit. So you cant call it Hip/Hop if it isnt Hip/Hop, thats why people call it real Hip/Hop or Rap, because it stays true to the art form

  • If you want the whole version,/watch?v=CZMoKYDMTdo

  • I honestly think this is deeper/better than Exhibit C, just my opinion though

  • @DOOMWang I agree....I love these type records...Exhibit C is still dope though

  • @DOOMWang i 100% agree

  • I know that nearly no-ones going to read this or care, but maybe someone will if I'm lucky.

I'm a 15 year old rapper from England trying to make my way in the game: music is my life, all that I want, and everything I rely on through times of struggle.

I've created a remix to this song, would appreciate if you'd listen.

All I need is just a few minutes of your time, it could really make a difference.

It's on my channel, I've also left it as a vid response.

    Thank you, peace and respect.

  • Follow us @ lowerlevelboys..HipHop is back!!!

  • this dude inspires me to elevate myself...true blessins

  • WHO SAY THE SOUTH DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIP-HOP??? WHERE YALL AT??? (M.I.A huh?? lmao) BIG K.R.I.T KILLED THIS TOO! Man lets set the record straight! It don't matter where you're from because every and anywhere got some dudes and girls that will get in YO AZZ!!! lol

  • Glad to see people listen to jay daily, I dont give a fuck about my upload hits, But this is true hiphop. After 2 years 430,000 learned how real hip hop sounds, 431,000 hit should be lil wayne behind his laptop so he can learn how to make good music too.

  • @bafjemOeder usually i dont reply to this but what does lil wayne have to do with this song??? just leave it this will never be mainstream due to the fact it has alot of substance and dosnt involve bitches and money but instead talks about his struggles. i love listening to real hip hop and so does everyone else here cuz we know the culture behind hip hop rather then just listining it to fit in with crowds.also most ur viewers knew what hip hop sounded like before this so plz dont insult us

  • @bafjemOeder

    real talks fam!

  • @bafjemOeder i feel u but Wayne isn't that bad homes. He can come with some real grounded hip hop, who cares if its club bangers the quality is still hip hop. Complain about niggas like Rick Ross, he's a problem.

  • @bafjemOeder AND YES I made this beat......you can almost tell.......WHERE did it come from..............WHY does it sound like an instant classic, WHAT's the beginning about if it isn't completely stolen from someone else's inspiration..........ALL OF THE RHYME is me = Jon Pierson WHY secret identities is no joke as sarcastic to me..HOW good my actual album is but how heart breaking that RHONDA BYRNE steal from the mind world is.....it's still unbelievable to people MySpaceDOTcom/itsJUSTnudity

  • CHECK OUT MY VERSION TO THIS!

UK UP AND COMIN RAPPER SCORPZY -EXHIBIT A

    CHECK IT OUTTTT!!!! DONT SLEEP!

  • Also much love for Just Blaze for lacing us with this one.

  • Now this is prime example of why hip hop will never die, this is a absolute classic. Indeed i haven't heard lyrical content and simulation of the brain like this since the mid 90's. It's on constant reload on my page, only true hip hop heads will understand the importance of this tune it's massive !

Who's going to bring the game back indeed.

  • its a dream its a dream flow elegant like miss coretta scott king

Jay electronica is a fucking legend in the making. his mind is soooo far gone!! i just needed to pay more attention to his lyrics. this shit is crazy man. i dont know how long it took for me to realize that after the comment i posted a year ago tho. but it didnt take long! im so fucking hyped about his album!! hes going to change everything with Act II

  • @RaminME AND YES I made this beat......you can almost tell...........WHERE did it come from..............WHY does it sound like an instant classic, WHAT's the beginning about if it isn't completely stolen from someone else's inspiration..........ALL OF THE RHYME is me = Jon Pierson WHY secret identities is no joke as sarcastic to me..HOW good my actual album is but how heart breaking that RHONDA BYRNE steal from the mind world is.....it's still unbelievable to people MySpaceDOTcom/itsJUSTnudity

  • that blow your brain, Kurt Cobain, that Nirvana shit!

  • Mickey Factz??

  • Wow, I slept on this guy for a long time. Just bumped Exhibit C and digged it, this track made me a fan. Nasty lyrics and great beat

  • Dopest shit ive heard in a min... fuckin samples are so serious.

  • yo check it out i did a remix to this song

    watch?v=qITB76WGm1k

  • real rap is about substance and substance is given by multiples methaphors to let us wonder and interpret them differently as our hears is given to actually listen but not hear

  • @ichigo95959595 there is a flaw in what you say and it recides in how deep those metaphors go to feed the substance cause lets be honest that new shit that lil wayne be spittin has some crazy metaphors but he still ain't nothing to jay.

  • @ichigo95959595 That's great. I should incorporate that ibto a rap sometime lol

  • lil wayne "was" a sick ass rapper before he hung it up. He runs Young Money for a reason, too get money, which is right now what he raps about, if the fucking masses were interested in this.. for example, lil wayne would go back to his roots, think about it. If you all are adults that can related to what lil waynes says and you're a grown ass man? time to grow up, thus leaving the question "who is he targeting" its the 16-24 year olds that try to live up to it, but can you? No. you cant.

  • @FreekoDeNasty That makes absolutely no sense. Try returning to Elementary school to learn English .

  • Why the fuck are you all comparing 2 great artist when they both live different worlds that reflect on their lyrics? since when did jay elect become a young light skinned man? just drop it. Jay elect is lyrically deep and presents the more exotic poetic feel yet has a old school blend to hip hop. J Cole is more hands on straight to the point, just as deep but more new school without the "Rakim, i am your son" wannabe style of rap, just let the men have their for light.

  • j cole and j eleectronica are both lirically inclined to the max buut jay electronica also has way more substance the j cole thats why he is the best of the 2 of them

  • THIS SONG IS THT REAL SHT NOT NO MAIN STREET.

  • real shit

  • Diggin the new youtube player. Oh, the song is G as well.

  • His Flow Is Dope Az Hell This guy sound like he from New york but he from the N.O You dont really Hear Rap like this nomore so i fucks wit em (no homo)

  • act 2 is finished...

  • 13 weezy fans came across this page by mistake

  • One of the best rap songs ever made

  • check out my new fav rapper "6 Reasons".. hot new rapper out of the westcoast.. Good Music... 6reasons.com

  • i wanna create a pirate radio station so i can play real hip hop like this

  • I sat back one Saturday and just played through a bunch of these Jay Elec YouTube videos and was blown away by him. I thank GOD for him and his music. We need more like him in the world.

  • "Blow your brain, Kurt Cobain, that nirvana shit.." that made me love this song!

  • "Life is like a dice game

One roll could land you in jail or cuttin' cake

Blowin' kisses in the rice rain"

true shit, the choices we make can send our lives spiraling in very different different directions, to greatness or, conversely, to destruction.

  • This brother mind rest in the ether...

  • This kind of hip hip reminds me of a radio station back in the day that used to play underground hip hop called KDHX! No hold bars and a no filter, just raw and uncut hip hop at it's finest! Today's tryers should be made to study real hip hop and then take a test, if they don't pass NY and LA Early Hip Hop 101 and Dirty South102 then they aren't allowed to touch a mic! Peace to all those that know and all those that want to comment rep yo side, I know I left somethang out....

  • Does any1 know the tempo of this song?

  • Ill. Dis nigga can flow

  • they built my city on top of a grave

  • why are wack ass pop stars famous but wise, real hip-hop artists unrecognised

  • Why the Raw Niggas is always the ones thats underrated. SMH..

  • i wish people would stop comparing, Cole and Electronica, they are both great. Both of their flows are completely different. Therefore comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges.

  • J cole is beyond overrated? Now I know you dumb as fuck

  • @RBG83ify Fuck you. Take that nigga dick out your mouth.

  • Nice whip, nice chain, a closet of skulls, the stinch is like slave blood in providence hall. Wow!

  • He's talking about hurricane katrina tearing up his city"blow a chuck of the levee out and spit me a stream. Knock a mand house down and build a casin(o)

  • They built my city on top of a grave

Niggas die niggas get high and watch the parade

  • J Cole is beyond overrated my fucking gosh.

  • He remind me of nas or prodigy

  • i love how we jay elec fans debate their opinion and other fans from mainstream rappers throw tantrums and insult at a third grade level to get their point across.

  • jay elec is sick but j.cole goes harder, just my opinion

  • i swam down shits creek & came up clean, with a new lease on life like andy dufresne....shawshank redemption fans like this.

  • That blow ya brain Kurt Cobain, That Nirvana ish, who gonna bring the game back... Check my video out "MeKobane The Balance" hope you like it

  • you can find the Christ where the lepers and the lames be real talk

  • stay groundy real

  • I hate that he couldn't get the Willy Wonka samples cleared - the bits they re-did sound crap

  • sorry but j cole is better but jay is cool

  • onne of the best rappers hands down and under rated

  • ELECTRONICA

  • spit that Kurt Vonnegut, that blow your brain Kurt Cobain, that Nirvana shit. sounds simples but is deep as fuck.

jay is comparing to dead cranky martyrs and visionaries (Kurt Vonnegut was an influential writer in the 20th Century — Kurt Cobain, lead singer of 1990s band Nirvana, committed suicide with a shotgun blast to the head)

Also, the “Kurt” and “Blow” refer to Kurtis Blow, the hip hop veteran and the first rapper to sign with a major record label

    source: rapgenius(dot)com

  • jay-z jay electronica j-cole

    damn roc nations stacked

  • @TheAnimusProject j. Cole ain't close to jay elect. Lupe maybe. Elzhi, lupe, jay electronica.

  • What's a 'casine'? Does he mean casino? That's wack!

  • @Hulmaldo hes saying they blew the levees paid ppl 2 grand and built casinos on their land which will make much more then that gotta listen son

  • @Hulmaldo Forced the rhyme I guess

  • lmao jay electronica the first verse in the begining is from jay z's dead presidents xD

But btw J Cole is better than Jay Electronica, nuff fucking said you can thumbs down and hate on my comment but it's my opinion.

  • @TheAnimusProject j cole is my favorite rapper... hear every song but jay electronica just has more lyrical content then cole.... but who cares as long as there both puttin on great music

  • @priceked10 true, but j cole has hella meaning in his song thts what i love no homo but at least there's still some real rappers out here none of that lil wayne, soulja boy bull shit -.-

  • sign that little contract and now already suspect...could of waited for the ink to dry...
