  • I just asked over at the Innesboard if there was a redording of this with the alternate verse... and I stumble across this by sheer accident less than 2 hours later! Talk about a knock-kneed frog! Yeesh! - 1b2s

  • Truly - legends in their own lunchtime.

  • It has occurred to me that many people have not seen the Rutles movie "All you need is Cash". My suggestion is that you see this as soon as possible if you're a Beatles fan. It's a work of art and genius (both musical and comedic genius.)

  • I believe Blind Lemon Pye.

  • An interesting early version of what may be one of The Rutles' greatest hits.

  • this song is scarier than I am the walrus haha

  • @dkrds The Rutles made 'I am The Waitress' - another great hit.

  • I don't think we will ever get a band as great as The Rutles ever again.

  • @Dunner1994

    Dunner 1994 You're mistaken

    The Beatles copied The Bonzos

(The Bonzos gave birth to The Rutles)

  • @bkeay100

What? No, I was just making a joke!

  • I think "Meathead" stole the idea for Spinal Tap from these guys.

  • The Rutles have been a big influence on Oasis

  • @Studmasterify In how they both are imitating the Beatles?

  • Comment removed

  • Is this Really A RUTLES studio outtake?

  • It's funny, the intro to 'Too Many People' sounds alot like this songs intro (aside from the obvious 'I am the Walrus' similarities).

  • oh, those crazy kids and their tea..

  • Look what Obama the Commie has got us,Chairman Mao!

  • @Syzygy60 Yeah, President Obama: the first Communist Muslim in the history of the planet! Please, give me a break.

  • Piggies are "the rules" the established government...Lennon didn't like it.

  • Neil Innes is still amazing and if he comes to your neighborhood, go see and listen.

He has written my favorite haiku ever:

    Writing a poem

    In seventeen syllables

    Is very diffic

  • Neil Innes is a truly amazing composer!!!!!!!

  • If you like any of this,,,,,Go to youtube & see Stevie Riks....AWESOME...

  • @05271963 Lulz I love Stevie. Strange to see someone mentioning him NOT on his video.

  • Denny Lane?!?!?!? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • i think neil innes is quiting music and he is live now?

  • Who can forget 'W.C. Fields Forever'? God, the Tragical History Tour was mostly a trainwreck, but the songs...anyway, it gave them the experience to be able to make some of their masterpieces, like 'A Hard Day's Rut', and 'Yellow Submarine Sandwich', so I suppose I shouldn't moan. Shame Ron met Chastity, though.

  • Thinking like a bogey, man, getting up my nose! Ron was a master of the nonsense verse!

  • Ron Nasty was a visionary. I hope he finally got that "squandron of tanks" he always wanted. God Save the Rutles!

  • "Your Mother Should Go" and "Fool On The Pill" are evergreen classics, whistled by paperboys even in 2010

  • Cheers . Fantastic post - Wish they would bring out an Anthology

  • neil innes was awesome..

  • @lovham89 Neil Innes is a genius.

  • @brianpadraic The Urban Spaceman himself ~ I agree

  • @lovham89 . . . . . . IS awesome! Peace dude!

  • I know you know what you know, but you should know by now that you're not me.

  • This is called I Am The Waitress.

  • @EvelKinevelable No, the song is called piggy in the middle. The cover of this "album" is a spoof on its own.....

  • @TheLonersManual It's obviously a spoof, and I know that. This SONG is called I Am The Waitress...not Piggy In The Middle. LOOK! Watch the movie

  • @EvelKinevelable No YOU look. Do a simple google search for The rutles piggy in the middle. Click the second link! You will see no song by the rutles called I am the waitress. You will see one called Piggy in the middle though. I don't think it is a coincidence that there is NO song by the rutles called I am the waitress.....

  • @EvelKinevelable Hell I will PM you so you dont have to do the work

  • @EvelKinevelable Yes, it is and always will be a classic. My kids love it too.
