Language is very difficult to use. It is not exactly correct to say "zero breaks apart" because there is no "breaking." It is more like the musical string that is at the zero of silence when it is unmoving, and when it is plucked it moves up (expansion) and down (contraction) simultaneously with no break in a single wave. Expansion and contraction from zero is also like this, without a break and occurring simultaneously. They don't create a vibration "in between," they are the vibration.
The first time I heard this album and this song, it was obvious to me that the song was about the Buddha Dharma. My only criticism is that Shinzen is calling this "Sasaki Roshi's" teaching and identifying it by such personality style. Yes, Shinzen is clear about Sasaki's style, but Sasaki roshi is teaching Tathagata Zen which is a long tradition and should not be personally limited to Sasaki roshi as if it is only Sasaki roshi's teaching.

This is ridiculous - naming nirvana, the world of the master?? This is putting one more name on ego instead of fearlessly facing reality just as you are.
Champaigne, bubbly experience of flow? LSD hippie with a monk cape. How do people attract the attention of others using bullshit analogies like this? Unbelievable.
@Jensen122 "Champagne bubbles" is his way of describing a sensation commonly experienced as a result of mindfulness practices. It's only an analogy in as much as 'butterflies in the stomach' is an analogy when used to describe a bodily feeling caused by anxiety. His audience here were at the end of a retreat and would have known how he was using the words.

When the fool hears about the Tao, he laughs loudly..
When the wise man hears about the Tao, he studies diligently.

@Jensen122 What is ridiculous is the narrow mind that makes such comments as these.
