  • 0:14 - 0:20 The best part and it was sick!

  • it doesn't matter how much he practices, he still gets killed in every duel he fights in

  • That was some impressive rota-scoping especially when he's spinning the target object that fast, well done very impressive.

  • Big thumbs up for the sick Jedi skills !!! The force is strong with this one.

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!

  • u spelled practicing wrong, its practicing

  • @0ch0853 And you spelled you wrong, it's "you".

  • @0ch0853 practising is correct in british english.

  • Ah yes, it's Ryan Wieber. The man with the power to make a bunch of real Swordsmen argue with each other by twirling a stick around in circles.

  • @yoyoace02 I know just how stupid is it all? seriously, its not supposed to be accurate for real fighting, its designed for the camera.

  • ok wen real lightsabers comes out dont mess with this guy

  • @MattnDrewProductions When real lightsabers comes out, this guys is going to cut his nose and ears off. ^^

  • @Jeggis89 lol thats what i was thinking too

  • @Jeggis89 When real lightsabers comes out he propably will be dead ^^

  • @Jeggis89 if that was true he would of hit himself in the face cause if u seen the videos with out the effects theres actualy a red pole where the light is

  • @GORCAMONSTER It's actually grey (carbon fiber), but even more importantly, it's rotoscoped... by me...

  • @MattnDrewProductions he cant handle a real light saber like that. the blade would be pure energy. so its weightless .

  • @Lahirukevin Lightsaber blades with weight, casting shadows on the environment, and making the background look "spongy" when turned off, are all appearing side effects when living out this nerdy dream. ^^

  • Hello!

    Where's the sound?

  • sound?

  • perfect roto (Y) btw did u rotoscoped it by solid or you used andrew kramers method?

  • @buster999121

Solid. Kramers method is pretty unpredictable, even though it's an intuitive way to rotoscope. Short conclusion, I like to have full control over my rotoscoping;)

  • @Jeggis89 exactly

  • Holy crap that's cool.

  • My God, He Spins that fast, I smacked my head when I'd tried that.

  • huh i think he is now better than Anakin Skywalker.

  • well to the look of this Ryan should be winning all his duels

  • yoda more like

  • lol

  • The next Kyle Katarn people....

  • He's good.

  • Very nice his moves r very similar 2 mine

  • It is spelled Practicing.

  • that'll teach'em!

  • it's Obi Wan from the phanton menace xD

  • Now THAT is skill

  • is there going to be a third?

  • The loose grip allows more flexibility and stability.

I've seen all kinds of sword fights and when it comes to swordplay. It has nothing to do with how you hold the grip. It has to do with skill.

About 100% of his moves CAN be used in a real sword fight. It all has to do with skill and years of practice.

  • @StormKat30 you hit the point^^

  • @StormKat30 It kind of DOES have to do with the grip..I do sword fighting in 3 different Martial Arts, it's more or less my life. There is no universal perfect grip, but it does matter. Yes, skill is a huge part, but certain moves require certain holds, and if you hold wrong, you execute the move wrong, more than likely ending the fight for you, because a REAL fight would last little longer than like 10 seconds, especially between 2 masters.

  • @77Krugg77 Well, you're right. I should have put in the Reply: it depends on what style you practice. "All" styles are not like that, it depends on the ones you choose. I practice an array of Chinese sword fighting and I practice Samurai.

The grips on those are far different from each other.

  • @StormKat30 And for "Samurai" fighting, as you put it, the grip is one of the biggest parts. You have to hold far top and far bottom, so you could do the push/pull technique to get power. One of the biggest things th eKatana was known for, power, the ability to slice through other swords. Unless of course you use a Wakasashi with a Katana, then your style changes.

  • Actually I would have to disagree with you on that one Kaze. No offense, I am 30 years old, and have been highly involved in sword fighting since the age of 6.

Ryan holds the grip correctly, you're supposed to hold the grip like that or the blade won't perform correctly.

  • Its good when you have experience in martial arts when doing lightsaber duels. I do martial arts and I love wacthing Ryan Weiber, but a lot iof his moves would have you defeated in a Kendo/Kenjutsu match.

  • Lightsaber combat and Kendo are very different. Lightsaber combat makes the participants look cool while Kendo trains you to kill people with a sword.

  • He is skilled, no doubt about that. But 90% of his moves can´t be used in a real Kenjutsu because you don´t have the right grip to hold the sword when you swing it like he does. You would be disarmed in no time. This is just show, but a good one! I absolutely like his movies!

  • Does Ryan do Kendo or Wushu or something like that, or did he learn the lightsaber moves by imitating the movies?

  • he imitated the moves... he has no martial arts training

  • His moves are rather impressive for someone who hasn't been trained to use a sword! :D

  • i know right! lol is it me or am i just fallowing in his foot steps...?

  • He's kinda one of the animators FOR the movies, guy.

  • 0:15 - 0:20 wow very fast :)

  • wow!

  • I could take him.

  • many could.

he's not an actual jedi, you know.

  • i have been trying how do the spin at 15 through 20, anyone pm me how to please?

  • If you look 5 comments down, you'll see I've already explained it.

  • 29,000th view!

  • the moves between 0:15 and 0:20 are imposible. I download it and watch it in slow motion. your wrist must be sprained to do that third spin. this is insane

  • i tried it and now i know it's not impossible i can do it know

  • It is actually pretty simple.

Start spinning the blade in fron of you, than use the weight and momentum of the blade to steer it like Ryan does here. You have to keep a loose grip, only pressing between your tumb and inner index finger. If you try to do this with a hard grip, you will hurt your wrist.

  • Yep, it's all in the wrist and how you grip the hilt. A loose grip allows you to have much flexibility with sword twirls.

  • @Jeggis89 in other words if your a drummer, you should be able to do that.

  • @Sonic77555 Correct! :)

  • no it isn't impossible. you just have to do it with a lose grip by only pressing with your index and thumb. don't try with a hard grip or you probably will brake your wrist! :)

  • Im so hot for Ryan right now lol

  • O.O whoa.

  • This is insane....

  • I love Ryan Weibber! He is THE MAN!! I love his RvD 1/2 clips:)

Btw, why was there no sound in this version or the clip? The last one I saw had sound in it:P

  • Ok, people, let me make this clear, once and for all. (For 'I have already said this before in the comments).

This is Ryan Wieber, not me, and he is not trying to set a new world record in blade spinning, nor am I trying tomake it look like that. He was testing out his new camera, and I needed some raw footage for my rotoscoping practise.

I do appreciate the positivity in the comments, though;).

  • Ah just don''t listen to them, we know it is not you. but hey, very good rotoscoping though, nice job!

  • this is not hard to do. its just simple blade twirling. ive been able to do that for a long time. fancy moves doesn't always = good fighter.

  • i can almost do what he does in 0:14 but hes ryan wieber.................he can do anything

  • I wish I could learn those moves from him!

  • boa fucking ey this guy is good

  • I'm worlds better

  • If you were a Jedi, no Sith would dare oppose the power of your blade.

  • I'm sure Darth Maul would challenge that. :)

  • Sweet. He's very good with that saber :) The lightsaber would've been easy to do though.

  • EPIC!

  • I was gonna say that xD

  • and I writed it again^^

  • ameture...... but very skilled. i can do all of that stuff too

  • Sure. And I'm a batman. *SNAP*

    Fucktard

  • haha

    n1 ^^

  • wasteman i've been doing wusho since 8

  • Comment removed

  • WTF looks so Cool!

  • Jeggis89, nice rotoscoping! Nice job.

  • How does he move like that rofl

  • the force is with this one..

  • Hours of dedication and EXCELLENT RESULTS!!

  • He's damn fast.

  • damn this guy is good with a ligthsaber.

  • . . o

    holy crap!

  • omg...you realise thats piss easy to do?

    haha...its good but its easy

  • nice, to bad he always loses

  • 3 words,

    this.

    guy.

    PWNZ!!!!.

  • I want to learn how to spin a single blade like that D:

  • the twirling from 0:15 to 0:20 is pretty simple, he just did it quickly and alot of times. it would b even better if he did the same twirling but using his fingers instead of his wrists

  • Why would you ever, ever want to do that spin with your fingers?

  • coz its even trickier and would add more spins to the trick :D

  • Yeah, it would, but it would make your grip so weak. Never worth it, imo. This is not baton twirling. Wrist movements, not finger twirls.

  • its ur call

  • Still....THAT IS AWSOME!

  • LOUD NOISES!!!

  • dang he's better than me but not by much

  • wheres the zzzm thing lol

  • MAAAAD SKILLS.

    I WANT THOSE SKILLS.

  • Nice Rotoscoping !!

  • its called "flowering".

  • que buen manejo

  • he can make that spin pretty friggen fast

  • Ryan is a lightsaber god. I was shattered that he didn't win the second bout against Dorkman. (Oh, whoops. Is that a spoiler?)

  • Wow, this guy is freaking awesome! I'm totally awestruck here!

  • Isn't there a raw footage that I could use for rotoscoping?

  • practicing?

  • Too bad.....

Try not to humiliate the beauty of lightsaber

  • Omg, man, isnt that Padawan of Luke Skywalker?

He's doing pretty well with lightsaber, that guy is really cool. LucasArts should give him a job. He'd be a good jedi/sith.

  • He's actually done quite a lot for LucasArts, specially on Kotor2.

  • He Was Swinging That Hella Fast,

  • Kinda :).

  • What I meant is that these tricks are easy and he was just testing the new camera for the shooting of RvD2. I'm not saying that's slow. Just not too fast. The high Shutter Angle helps it sell.

  • ya n i was just making fun of robertkahlidbarber for saying hella....cuz thats gay...

  • Hahaha. I see ;)

  • hektik bro!

  • you're telling me that lightsabers and over the top fight scenes are all just fake and unrealistic?! my perception of the world has been shattered!

  • what? You think you're an expert or something? Besides these are just entertainment vids...they're not supposed to represent how to fight or how "realistic" it's supposed to be. They're just keeping true to the fantasy that is Star Wars :)

  • Well being someone who's been in some sword fights in the past, (never to the death, just sparing), I can safely say that it's possible to have a fight last more that five minutes with some bad ass moves, provided that the two people know what they're doing.

Also, the whole point of the spinning is to gain momentum for strikes... Helps the blows be more powerful.

  • one of my favourite parts of teh star wars lore

is that the blade of a light saber has no weight so its nothing like traditional sword fighting, all the weight is in hilt of the blade and even the spins and power strikes, dont convey weight. The only time a strike can knock someone back, is if it is accompanied by an outpouring of force power like anakin does when hes mad.

The beauty of these duels its all grace and skill, the purpose of the speed and complexity, is to land hits, not be powerful

  • To be fair, most sabers in the star wars universe magnetically simulate weight for the blade. It is a feature that can be customized or turned off, but it is there.

  • tell that to the people who study tai chi and kung fu. a lot of those moves he uses are based off of their movements, and are exactly what they do. so tell the master's that and see what that gets you.

  • you wanna fight someone on the street using tai chi or kung fu, go ahead. Let's see where that gets you.

  • I can do the mouvements: Not as fast, and not with a glowing lightsaber (I don't have photoshop)

  • Ryan is great.

But the fact is that anyone can do that with training...

I dont want to sound cocky but, I can do it.

  • how do you make the effects

  • lol. ryan is famous. haha

  • fucking hell , i didnt realize he was this good :D

  • i thot he had a double bladed blue lightsaber?

  • That was on one of his videos, he usually has a single bladed, blue lightsaber.

  • That's right. The reason I made it red in this one, was because the current versions already out here used a blue saber, so I decided to "personalize" it with a red saber. Sue me!:P

  • Where did you get this footage?

  • Here you go:

    h**p://files[dot]filefront[dot]com/hvxtest+rvd2mov/;7103760;/fileinfo[dot]html

  • thats in ryan weiber vs brandon flyte only...

  • o ok thanks

  • can you get after effects free or do you have to pay for it

  • it costs $999 retail

  • Wow!!!

  • woa, you sure can rotate a saber, i looks quit impressiv, but not too impressiv

  • That's Ryan Wieber, not Jeggis.

  • I neither know Wieber nor Jeggis, I just tell by the video here and notthin more.

  • Where did you get this? I want it :P

  • Eid!
