Luke, what I understood lately is that the mantra serves as a ladder, as fuel (not fossile indeed...:-), to project the Self higher and higher into the 'tunnel', until one is reaching the highest heaven. When he says that having used that mantra without the tone for decennies, it eases the process, he means the latter shortens the span between each of his spiritual visions, describing them for our own benefice.

Notice this is just "the first chamber of the heart"... !!

I use this. I downloaded onto my PSP. I go and sit at my special spot and meditate with this. Then when I open my eyes usually they are there. Amazing!!!!

I made contact once, in august 2009. lasted only seconds, but was truly life altering. have been unable to duplicate that experience since that date - I have listened to this meditation three times with no results... the whole, inner eye thing, seems to lose me.... will continue on this as i know greer results are amazing and that this meditation is one key to his continued contact - namaste

He recommands 20 minute of listening, then a silent meditation, or then leaving the mantra as soon as the intended meditative state is reached.

@Lukeidea I think it becomes interesting to anyone who is awakened to the fact that wether you are 22 or 100 you are not the meaty suit that wraps your soul. You are a spiritual being having a human experience and this experience is most likely only 1 in an infinite # of possible experiences, like Greer is saying. So how old do you really think you are, the real you?

But I agree age really doesn't mean all that much in this case.
