  • @1CMEE90....thanks bro . true story.

  • @MrBearox... Fucking bad ass story!

  • @MrBearox Public safety workers other than police (e.g. EMTs) are at times issued soft body armor if they are expected to work in areas where you don't want to be caught dead - pun intended. The sign you just got was get rid of the big bag before LAs finest come knocking (or busting thru w/o knocking) on your door with a felony warrant. Straight up "duuude".

  • @MrBearox And a final note "bro". The high end on concealable soft body armor (Level IIIA with IMPACT-M plate and special threat designation) is only about half of the price you quoted. So "dude" you must be full of "dookie" or think that everyone else is.

  • probably a dumb question but i was chatting with someone and now im confused. what is the difference between level iii and level iiia?

    Thanks!

  • @ZurkElite IIIa will stop only pistol rounds. Level III usually has either a steel or ceramic plate that will stop rifle rounds.

  • @SavageArms357 Only level IV plates stop rifle rounds, these days they are lite weight ceramic.

  • @tctvideo No, Level III plates will stop up to .308 rounds. Level IV plates are more for armor piecing rounds like the 30-06 AP and .30 M2 AP.

  • Where can I buy some extremely concealable IIIa?

  • This is a great overview but seriously man, download audacity and learn to use the noise removal tool to get rid of that background noise.

  • now lvl 3's will stop a rifle bullet right? or so they advertise..with the metal plates in it not the soft padding.......

  • @arkangel8419

yup, well thats the idea at least

  • with a vest this thick would it still hurt to be shot with a 9mm? what if you are shot right in the soft trauma plate?

  • Depends on the weapon esp. bullet velocity (longer barrel i.e. mp5) higher velocity means higher blunt trauma - even with the trauma plate you get at least quite a bruising by high velocity 9mm

NIJ IIIa: max 44 mm trauma (this is concidered as non-lethal however it also depends on the person and other circumstances)

with trauma plate (not rifle plate) I suppose trauma under 20 mm is quite good or even under 10 mm will let you stay quite comfortable

  • Guys, might I ask where I can buy one of these carriers, or something similar to it? I'm getting some panels in a few and I need a good concealable carrier, size small.

    Mike

  • There are a bunch of companies that sell well made carriers..

I suggest you check out a forum for LEO or military and see what companies they like and where they buy..

We just review the gear we have access to, not nessesarily the stuff we would like to all the time, and I personally am not an armor 'expert' so I would not want to lead you in the wrong direction

  • There is a terrible ringing in body armor videos. Its giving me a headache

  • you really need a front light :3 the black is completely washed out lol

  • YEa, I gree, I blame the camera, but I was also in a hurry and didn't check things out and did a whole series of videos with this set up in poor lighting

  • how effective is level IIa body armor at stopping 9mm?

  • I suspect it would stop a 9mm.. but I'll let the experts answer that one

  • Is there any level 3A armor that is capable of stopping rifle rounds? Are plates (steel/ceramic) the only armor that can stop rifles?

  • As far as I know, only plates can stop rifle rounds.. it's about the energy in a rifle round compared to a handgun
