Metallica should get together with dave and ron and do some shows and record and album.. Megadeth should record this song on an album I surprised dave never recorded a version of jump in the fire on any of the Megadeth albums
I've always wanted to know what this cover is from. I saw it in magazines in the late 80's early 90's... I knew about it being the cover for the "Power Metal" demo but I want to know where the actual art comes from.
I would like to hear Dave do his version of the ursurped tracks Metallica got known for. Yeah he did Mechanix but I am just curious to hear his versions with the Megadeth lineup.
@megaluisdeth better than mustaines current donald duck voice yes. the concert i went to see megadeth he still cant sing he sounds sick but idk, but Daves old voice sucked a little and James' was the best then James' voice started changing and Dave's also except Daves changed and sounded better the thing i dont like about Hetfield is that he cant sing this or other old songs at a high pitch so they dropped the tunning so it could fit his voice, like ride the lightning.
@iScreamAimandFire Yea Dave has really over worked his voice, Yeah Metallica tunes down half a step so James can hit the "High Notes" but he was very young and now he's very old. I saw Dave on Endgame and in Hollywood for the RIP tour and he sounded good.
@TheBusch96 ya the lyrics are different because they are mustaines lyrics. I like these lyrics much better. Mustaine offered allot to metallica to bad they split so early. The song is also faster than it is on the lp(mustaine again)
@AuronpeacemakerG Buy the LP and digitalise it thatt's what I've done with; puppets demo, RTL demo, the justice demos, no life till leather, power metal, metal up your ass. And a load of singles I've picked up on ebay from £10-£60.
@shinshoryuken not true dave said one of the first songs e ever wrote was jump in the fire when he was 15 and hangar 18 later on. maybe the lyrics came after but not the music
@purplehazethc When James' brootlz pills kicked in. D= Either way, I like this a lot better than the studio version. The lyrics are less stupid IMO(albeit still a little stupid...just...better...XD), and holding the note in the chorus is a lot better than just yelling it.
dave's solos are way more rad here forsure but, the re-written lyrics and james not singing like a pussy on the other recording(s) i prefer more than this.
Mustaine Wrote Most Of the rythm's & All the Leads (some lyric's) To This entire Album (I've also Heard Him Doing RTL,call of ktulu, fight fire with fire ,trapped under ice &creeping death Years Back).......So ......Mustaine Invented Thrash Once They ran out of Mustianes Music (&Cliff's Untimelly death) It was All Over for Them In The Thrash/Speed Metal World!....Dave's A God!
The original lyrics of jump in the fire belongs entirely to Mustaine... he wrote the song and the riff/solo when he was in panic and when he arrived in metallica he started playing it along with the others!Panic sang only some riffs from this song and from the mechanix, which is another masterpiece of Dave!
Yeah I like the theme of the original better then the the album version. However with lyrics like "Sittin' in my room with my head in my hands, I just can't seem to move", it's not surprising why they would have wanted to change them.
Panic was Dave Mustaine first ever local metal band... It was influenced by many NWOBHM bands as Venom, Motorhead and Iron Maiden.Formed in the fall of 1981 it didn't last long until Dave got bored and the last thing known about Panic is that two of the guys in charge of the band died in a car crash!Then... Mustaine joined Metallica in February 1982!
this original version rocks!!!!! i have this lp and i love it. over the years i have built a huge collection of rare-ass vinyl from metallica, anthrax, slayer, ect...i love those underground recordings. thats what made metal...metal...the underground!!!

Like the Kill em all version better honestly. The vocals are too stretched out and typical gay 80's style.
