I think she'd still be able to face him cause she was looking at his picture, the most accurate thing of him, her memory would be tainted of what he looked like from when she was in the basement with him because of all the things that were going through her mind, like you said definetley a feeling of her mothers fear.

I really really hope she wins awards for her performance it was amazing.
