The REAL problem with this video, and most advice passing as shooting instruction, is the lack of measurable results. Define what performance we're trying to gain and provide means to objectively determine what "good" is. Technique should always be the by product of obtaining a desired result, nothing more.
If your goal is fast carbine shooting, or first round vital hits on game, define what constitutes a good performance first.
P.S., this technique does work very well with this weapon platform for fast shooting, shooting while moving and for staying on target while doing so. I don't think it was intended to be used with a heavy long hunting type rifle.
Good instruction Chris. You speak very clearly and have the ability to convey information very well. I hope to get to another one of your courses soon.
re comment s by sgt Refitt - IF you can't shoot straight what's the point - as I said the nZ Police use this method with predictable results - again try what I said and see for your self. I have over 45 years hunting exp much of it professional. If you want to shoot using a poor position go for it .... Alex G
Hey TheNEVB - As a "professional hunter", you probably would think this is dumb since you are in an open setting with no one attacking you. As a professional manhunter, working in high threat environments, this is exactly what you need to do especially when you're going through buildings and other close quarter combat situations. Save your "dumb" comments for somethiing you know something about!!
This is bad news. I have been a professional hunter, a hunting guide specialising in hunter training in New Zealand. This offhand technique is one used by the NZ Police and Armed defenders squad and is the reason they have such a poor record. I have taken a number out hunting and their technique is lousy. For one, you don;t hold your right elbow/arm low as the butt of your rifle is not locked into the shoulder properly and a well you have poor trigger control. See for yourself. Dumb. Alex G
I understand that you are a high speed tactical operator and nearly all of your presentations have some value but, you need to lose those high speed tactical black sunglasses. In this video you are in the shade with a billed ballcap and don't need them. Actual eye contact would be much more effective. Thanks, ExDI
Hi Mchl, the first part of your comment is quite humerous and funny! The second part about the glasses is excellent feedback and will be noted for any future videos. Thanks man.
as his lower body moves he should be moving in a rolling fashion from heel to toe maintaining his balance" nose over the feet" . great video. thank you
