The US isn't going to invade further than Iran and possibly Pakistan. The goal isn't to militarily topple Russia or China, it is to deny them resources, control their neighbors, and undermine their economies. An invasion, a direct all-out industrialized war with either Russia or China means a war with NATO against Russia AND China. That would be disastrous for everyone and is too unpredictably chaotic. I think you're right in saying that the U.S. is concerned with the middle east and northern Africa for militarily strategic purposes, but I think you're wrong in your assessment of why. I think it has much more to do with oil and the role Iran plays in that. We are in a trade/currency war with the east. If it gets too desperate, the next phase will be to take over the oil supply to cripple the east. We've basically done that, except for Iran. We are surrounding Iran in preparation for that.

I have a few issues. 1)if it was in our interest to leave countries in chaos, we would have left Iraq/Afghanistan by now. 2) your scenario implies the need for safe haven passage through the suez canal, presumably for the transportation of troops/supplies. While that may have been the case a hundred years ago, technology has reduced that need.
