  • ohh BUCK-TICK <3

  • in that song of X JAPAN, he sing like Demon Kogure xD

  • what the song name of glay?

  • who and waht song is the very first band?

  • The order of the bands are SO wrong it hurts.

  • Buck-Tick! <3

muy buenas bandas las que salen!!

  • heyhey L'arc~en~ciel is not visual kei they officially said that already.

  • The first band before Boowy, if I'm not wrong is ANTI FEMINISM

  • where did u buy?

  • what is the first band?

  • SOFT BALLET!!!

  • ... The mad capsule markets in a VK vid? seriously?

  • Visual Kei started long before this. It started with the glam rock and especially with twisted sister. Hide made it classy and then it kept being developed in Japan. That's how I see it.

  • and guns'n'roses "stole" their stuff from hanoi rocks. Besides it can't be called stealing. Copying is the highest form of showing admiration.

Hanoi Rocks btw were very popular in Japan in the early 80's. Even more popular than in Europe that time. Even now after they were gone for long and came back they are still loved most in Japan.

Also many visual bands have mentioned them as one of their idols.

  • Yes that is the background for sure. But as long as it is glam it is glam not vkei. and this is supposed to be history of vkei.

But I have to comment on the hide thing. He did have alot influence I don't deny that, but it's not really him that made vkei classy. For one thing, his style didn't really differ that much from other artists of that time. (I don't mean just vkei, but world wide.) His style is not really that special. I do not think there was any one person or band that changed the way

  • vkei turned out to be.

Trends change in fashion and I think it is just natural that vkei changes with the fashion trends. If you look non-japanese bands from the same era the way vkei dress does not really differ that much in the end. I know there are differences, but I'm not referring to bands like Versailles here, but those that look pretty general but still are vkei. For example Vistlip. there are many bands and artists outside of japan who are not vkei but still could wear similar clothes

  • whos at 9:40?

  • whos the band at 3:53?

  • Its Rolly Teranishi / Scanch

  • XD thanX hehee... it's just...I saw Kyo at the same outfit ^^'

    yay

  • Oh...GOD DAMN THEY SOUND LIKE THE SAME PERSON

  • What's the name of the first song of X JAPAN in the video ?

  • Voiceless Screaming

  • Wish I could read Japanese. Is there a list of bands featured in this?

  • Not all the videos of 1987-2007 Visual Kei HISTORY 1-7 are visual kei bands!! There are non-visual bands between them like THE YELLOW MONKEY and THE MAD CAPSULE MARKET'S!

  • man...they're Visual Kei whether you want it or not..you don't need make-up to belong to the scene

  • TMCM were considered a VK when Shin Murohime was still in the band, they were def. part of the scene when they started. and i guess the yellow monkey is tied to the scene because emma and annie used to play in killer may which played with X, aion, rosenfeld and others.

  • And what about thee michelle gun elephant?

Please, don't make up explanations. Who did the video was just a fan, so you gotta take care with the source's infos.

The video has clear mistakes like showing DIE IN CRIES before D'ERLANGER and showing just two slow ballads of X, none of their biggest hits, not of older stuff like something from '88 ou '89 -- not very representative for X's work.

  • I never claimed that all the bands in the video were VK, you mentioned yemon and TMCM and I explained to you how they could be tied to the VK scene when they started. And who cares if the cronology is wrong or if they didn't show Kurenai, that's just nitpicking.

  • Yemon was never tied to the visual scene, regardless the supposed past of any member or other bands, which doesn't matter to label Yemon.

If the video intends to be a sort of documentary or something about visual kei, yes, it's bad to make chronology mistakes and to give a bad idea about such a important band like X JAPAN.

  • If you knew any japanese fans you'd know that they WERE tied to the VK scene when they started.

And dude you're overreacting, this isn't a documentary or a sociological study about VK it's a fucking FANVIDEO. I'll say it again, you're nitpicking, for the most part he got the bands right and everyone knows X JAPAN, check who is commenting here, we all know at least a little bit about VK, moda198765432 didn't try to introduce the genre to anyone.

  • Doing only a fan video is not a good excuse for passing on wrong information.

  • true, but getting your panties in a twist because of a *fanvideo* is ridiculous. we had far more embarassing fanvideos here

  • i'd like to thank you. at least there is some sort of chronology~

  • オートモッドやマダムエドワルダも入れてほしかったです

  • thanks but it is just pack of video

    isn't the history
