She ABSOLUTELY got the humor of the scene,but she was right to question the SEQUENCE of her lines. Her point was that she should give her line BEFORE Brad makes the 'playing dead' sounds, which is right, because why would she ask the question '...Are you still alive, baby?..." if she hears him making sounds? Of course he's alive if he's making sounds! So her saying her line AFTER that doesn't make sense. Obviously she was right, because they ended up doing it HER way in the film.
