This expansion should be turned into a movie, but for the Glory of the Lich King KEEP IT AWAY FROM M. Knight SHAMALAN or MICHEL BAY, they'll either turn Arthas into a plot twist or blow everything up and shake the camera until all of Icecrown looks like a snow globe!
This is just too good to be used only inside a game. This has to be one of the most underrated scores for a game ever composed. Russel Brower is a genius. I really wish I had such creativity to come up with such awesomeness.

One of my all-time favorites in the beautiful WoTLK soundtrack. I guess it's why I enjoyed questing at Storm Peaks so much. That and the quest line I was on had such a wonderful plot to it. Hell, I've enjoyed so many of the quest lines in Northrend that I've actually been cooking up stories on my character's adventures, starting with how Drakuru deceives her. It even surpasses my love for the Sin' Dorei-oriented music from BC. And I really, really, /really/ loved those songs.
Oh and... I couldn't help but think of Edward Scissorhands in some parts of this song while I was questing. Yet, in others, it made me think of Harper Robinton's death from the Dragonriders of Pern series, and when Ruth and Lord Jaxom were staring out at the (I can't remember if it was the ocean or the sky) at the very end.
By no means is this music in the true spirit of Warcraft's old days, but it seems to feel Warcraft-y nonetheless—the new generation, where it's more thoughtful and plot-laced. Contemplation over decapitation.
No, being sad when you listen to music isn't emo.. I know exactly what Jerryivyroger means. Its a great song and you have these feelings that come out when you listen to it. Those are extremely hard to describe but its joyous and sadness. Like I said, hard to explain.
To expand on this, the vocal parts of this song are incredibly evocative and haunting.
Without trying to over-analyze the connection between the song and the zone it originates from, there's a certain amount of sadness and mourning in the Storm Peaks; a race pushed nearly to extinction (the Sons of Hodir,) the corruption and disappearanceof the Keepers (Hodir, Freyja, etc) and the disarray caused by their absence. The betrayal of Thorim by Loken, etc. Stuff you find in those pesky quest logs!
Can't become more epic than this. Best soundtrack I've ever heard.
Gave me chills and goosebumps all over my body when I heard it the first time, and it still does! Especially at the piece starting at 1:50 ~ish. Phenomenal.
1:50 onwards.....when i first heard...i was like...WOW. Then it goes on to remind me of bond...O.o when that woman goes WooooooOOOOoooo x) probs just me but nvm lol
This song gives me chills down my spine, especially the part starting at 1:50.
The song is ofcourse even better when you actually stand there, surrounded by snow and getting that feeling of being so small, surrounded by gigantic mountaintreaches and the titan buildings reaching towards the sky.
Very nice song. My favorite of WotLK, i like it. ;)

It's true, where you think Icecrown would be host to a LOT more misery, the Storm Peaks seem to be in a state a hundred times worse.
Maybe things will darken when the Citadel's about to creak open.

Yes! It's crazy how the develop this music while telling the history of the area it was developed for.

The Stormpeaks is what inspired me to make a Dwarf warrior character called Murthor.
for the sole purpose of living in the Stormpeaks.

actaully I decided to make him a hunter intead. much better for the whole adveturing and exploration stuff.
and the fact that the racials fit hunters for dwarfs better.
