  • Very nice song. My favorite of WotLK, i like it. ;)

  • We are marching a World of Warcraft show in band this year :)

  • Thunbs up if you think 1:57 to the end is the best part!

  • This expansion should be turned into a movie, but for the Glory of the Lich King KEEP IT AWAY FROM M. Knight SHAMALAN or MICHEL BAY, they'll either turn Arthas into a plot twist or blow everything up and shake the camera until all of Icecrown looks like a snow globe!

  • Eastern Kingdoms = Good, old Epicness.

Kalimdor = Mystic and exotic Epicness.

    Titans = Interesting, mighty Creators.

Old Gods = Frightening powerful Beings.

Mountains of Thunder = Epic beyond ANYTHING!!

  • man, am i the only level 80 that hasn't gone to every instance known to man? :P

  • epic theme!

    piano solo version @ watch?v=gldZ4_m5P1E&feature=channel_video_title

  • This is just too good to be used only inside a game. This has to be one of the most underrated scores for a game ever composed. Russel Brower is a genius. I really wish I had such creativity to come up with such awesomeness.

  • love the part from 1:54 to 2:20

  • I love Outlands and Northrend! It makes you feel like you litteraly enter a new world!

It costs ya some, but it's so fucking worth it!

  • One of the best zone in the WoW universe. Story, atmostphere and music make for an unforgettable experience in the Storm Peaks.

  • @opalen903 Lol, no

  • This is true Warcraft!

I was really disappointed with the Icecrown Citadel music however... it was just a shame.

  • 3:05 and after! Magical.

  • One of my all-time favorites in the beautiful WoTLK soundtrack. I guess it's why I enjoyed questing at Storm Peaks so much. That and the quest line I was on had such a wonderful plot to it. Hell, I've enjoyed so many of the quest lines in Northrend that I've actually been cooking up stories on my character's adventures, starting with how Drakuru deceives her. It even surpasses my love for the Sin' Dorei-oriented music from BC. And I really, really, /really/ loved those songs.

  • Oh and... I couldn't help but think of Edward Scissorhands in some parts of this song while I was questing. Yet, in others, it made me think of Harper Robinton's death from the Dragonriders of Pern series, and when Ruth and Lord Jaxom were staring out at the (I can't remember if it was the ocean or the sky) at the very end.

  • do you have the yogg saron phase 3 music?

  • By no means is this music in the true spirit of Warcraft's old days, but it seems to feel Warcraft-y nonetheless—the new generation, where it's more thoughtful and plot-laced. Contemplation over decapitation.

  • Isnt the name Storm Peaks ?

  • Storm Peaks is the zone's name, Mountains of Thunder is the song's name. c:

  • wonderful music to listen to while camping time lost proto drake.

  • @Jonnymelonzx Have you actually found it ? I got Time-lost myself :S

  • yeah found it with the help of npcscan

  • Best Soundtrack ever

  • this song makes me feel sad

  • No, being sad when you listen to music isn't emo.. I know exactly what Jerryivyroger means. Its a great song and you have these feelings that come out when you listen to it. Those are extremely hard to describe but its joyous and sadness. Like I said, hard to explain.

  • To expand on this, the vocal parts of this song are incredibly evocative and haunting.

Without trying to over-analyze the connection between the song and the zone it originates from, there's a certain amount of sadness and mourning in the Storm Peaks; a race pushed nearly to extinction (the Sons of Hodir,) the corruption and disappearanceof the Keepers (Hodir, Freyja, etc) and the disarray caused by their absence. The betrayal of Thorim by Loken, etc. Stuff you find in those pesky quest logs!

  • It's true, where you think Icecrown would be host to a LOT more misery, the Storm Peaks seem to be in a state a hundred times worse.

Maybe things will darken when the Citadel's about to creak open.

  • Yes! It's crazy how the develop this music while telling the history of the area it was developed for.

  • I love wow but my main is only level 36! Lol !

  • nah mate it's all about the music, feeling sad isn't something just emos do.

  • hmm, i have never quested in this region on any of my other characters, maybe my druid will ding 80 here :D

  • One of my favorite sounds in the game, I loved flying in this area and listening to this. Thanks for posting.

  • WoW songs remind me of LotR songs. Fav game, fav movie :)

  • The movies are nothing compared to the books though.

  • @opalen903 Agreed, they left TONS out, if you mean LOTR ofc. :P.

  • 2 people stayed in the Mountains!

  • @BaliNikiBali Lotr is best movie! EVER :P and same :P reminds me 2 ;p

  • @BaliNikiBali indeed. guardians of hiyal always reminds me of elves ( lotr version)

  • by the way, does anyone knows what the music soundtrack in Vault of Archavon is called?

    tyvm!

  • Superbe en 1:52 ;)

  • great!!

  • Can't become more epic than this. Best soundtrack I've ever heard.

Gave me chills and goosebumps all over my body when I heard it the first time, and it still does! Especially at the piece starting at 1:50 ~ish. Phenomenal.

  • The Stormpeaks is what inspired me to make a Dwarf warrior character called Murthor.

for the sole purpose of living in the Stormpeaks.

  • actaully I decided to make him a hunter intead. much better for the whole adveturing and exploration stuff.

and the fact that the racials fit hunters for dwarfs better.

  • Sends shivers down my back

  • the part starting at 1:50 is epic !

  • brilliant!

  • 1:50 onwards.....when i first heard...i was like...WOW. Then it goes on to remind me of bond...O.o when that woman goes WooooooOOOOoooo x) probs just me but nvm lol

  • agreeing with you there, Shoukaze, i like this song cause mostly it just fill up the energy a lot in yourself.

  • This song gives me chills down my spine, especially the part starting at 1:50.

The song is ofcourse even better when you actually stand there, surrounded by snow and getting that feeling of being so small, surrounded by gigantic mountaintreaches and the titan buildings reaching towards the sky.
