He was one of a kind love him or hate him. The industry was better for him. He attracted alot of media and fans who would not have watched wrestling otherwise.

I like the way this interview is conducted. The Warrior is saying a lot of intelligent things in a mild - mannered way and all that, but the location could be changed to a more suitable spot. He said to go "balls to the wall" and strive for success in anything you choose to do, but also realize that you may not be able to do certain things when you get older (especially if you did something as physical as wrestling). You may then become a mentor like he did and continue to teach and inspire.
You can call him insane if you want but at least he isn't dull. He might not have been a technically good wrestler but he drew money and filled arenas. Similarly, he might not be the smartest public speaker but he draws money and sells tickets. He's an interesting character, in comparison to 99% of todays generic wrestlers.
Poor Jim Hellwig, he seems to be finding things that can't fill an internal emptiness. To bad he doesn't talk to Steve Borden anymore. Since Steve became a Christian, he's found fullfilment in life.

He was putting on an act, he wasn't really insane. He was playing the crazy warrior. He did make mistakes and he started missing matches which got him fired. The other wrestlers were envious of his physique so the made fun of his act.

Whatever, this guy was an egomaniac. He wasn't nearly as talented a wrestler as most, he was however one of the greatest characters of all time. From the intro music to the shaking of the ropes, when he put on a good show, it was a great show. when he put on a bad show, it was absolutely terrible.
Ultimate Warrior was my favotire wrestler at that time. I miss him in the wrestle mania WWF. He gto the intensity crowd, the power, speed and body and he's fast thats what i like about him.

A friend of mine won two tickets to a "lecture" of his at the local college and since we were big fans as kids we wanted to hear what he was charging $100 a ticket (or $5000 for an auditorium) for. Well, remember the crazy WWF promos he did? It was like that only very fast and rammbling. He also took "breaks" (cocain) in an hour lecture. At one point he talked about UFOs, healing crystals (crack?), and how he was a GOD
I dunno if anyone else has acknowledged this but in Alternative Medicine circles healing crystals are quite common. Remember this when you vote in laws that try to socialize these kinds of medicines. Only socialize real medicines that are prescribed by real doctors and scientists.

Hogan was willing to lose to The Rock, Triple H, Goldberg and the Ultimate Warrior, so don't whine that he wasn't willing to pass the torch.

He lied about his past steroid abuse for the same reason why he lied about his 1992 firing. He did fail that drug test, and he was not "scapegoated." If he wanted to prove McMahon fired him "as a scapegoat," he could have had an attorney force McMahon to surrender the test results and show them. Drug test results are something bookkeepers must keep preserved.
when I was a kid I thought Warrior was the man! But as I grew older and realized that he was nothing more than a selfish prima donna who only ever looked out for number 1. The road warriors were my personal favs. Joe and Mike are/were the best. Seriously two of the coolest celebs i've met. You can call him insane if you want but at least he isn't dull. He might not have been a technically good wrestler but he drew money and filled arenas. Similarly, he might not be the smartest public speaker but he draws money and sells tickets. He's an interesting character, in comparison to 99% of todays generic wrestlers.

Whatever, this guy was an egomaniac. He wasn't nearly as talented a wrestler as most, he was however one of the greatest characters of all time. From the intro music to the shaking of the ropes, when he put on a good show, it was a great show. when he put on a bad show, it was absolutely terrible.

A friend of mine won two tickets to a "lecture" of his at the local college and since we were big fans as kids we wanted to hear what he was charging $100 a ticket (or $5000 for an auditorium) for. Warrior was not championship material at all, and the match was only made so Hogan would try to pass the torch. In no way did Warrior ever become champion because of "his push." Hogan has had a history of knee trouble and Shawn still showed a little of the old self-centered HBK when he criticized Hogan for not jobbing to him without mentioning the knee issues. Hogan was willing to lose to The Rock, Triple H, Goldberg and the Ultimate Warrior, so don't whine that he wasn't willing to pass the torch.

@Transamstance Sorry, BUT HIS BEHAVIOR HAS STRONGLY SUGGESTED HE DID. Even on-screen, his veins were popping like crazy on his body. He lied about his past steroid abuse for the same reason why he lied about his 1992 firing. He did fail that drug test, and he was not "scapegoated." If he wanted to prove McMahon fired him "as a scapegoat," he could have had an attorney force McMahon to surrender the test results and show them. Drug test results are something bookkeepers must keep preserved.

when I was a kid I thought Warrior was the man! But as I grew older and realized that he was nothing more than a selfish prima donna who only ever looked out for number 1. He was a mere flash in the pan that was only over becuase WWE booked him that way. Proof was when he entered WCW with complete creative control and bombed heavily. Saying that his promos are some of the funniest things I've ever seen!

I met him. He was a total dick. And I've met a lot of the 80's wrestlers. My g-ma's neighbor was cousins with Barry Windham. Ted Dibiase lived in Alb. NM. The road warriors were my personal favs. Joe and Mike are/were the best. Seriously two of the coolest celebs i've met. It had to do with the job my Dad had but i got to meet all the wrestlers and body builders of the day. Arnold too. He had bad breath. I was seven. lol Ask me and i'll tell you which ones were the cool ones and which ones suck.

@KRnumba9 He was never "on top" DUMBASS. He did draw audiences, but not nearly enough to be considered on top. He made very few friends backstage and was a perfect example of roid rage. He also never would have even that copyright battle if McMahon was able to point out the many similarities that he had with the Road Warriors and Kerry von Erich. He wore a facepaint the Road Warriors often wore and he had many character traits of the Modern Day Warrior Kerry von Erich

Why does the description say don't watch Self Destruction of the UW? That video was a documentary of the time of his life, the flow of his WRESTLING CAREER. It has no effect on how the man is today.
The idea that the world is conspiring against UW to make him look like a moron is absurd. The man had some problems. The man HAS some problems.
Why doesn't anyone make an hour long documentary with all the people that LIKE or LIKED UW as a worker and as a person? Too hard?
