  • A small booboo on this video; Mr. Butler is wearing a wedding band on this video... ;-)

  • Do people still record songs like this?

  • @yjelmoreicecream VERY rarely unfortunately. Oleta Adams, Patti Austin, Brian McKnight, Mint Condition and Sade are among the artists still making quality music and performing -- thankfully!

  • this song really hits home to the bone

  • dayum, this song only highlights how shabbily people sometimes treat the hearts of others. it takes a special brand of mean to screw someone over when you know that you hold their heart in your hand. nothing could be more downright lowdown and trifling than to f*uck over somebody's heart just for sh*ts and grins. like i said, it takes a soulless individual to be able to do that to another human being. jonathan butler. he has one of those voices that just soothes a troubled soul and heals.

  • The essence of magical 80's R&B. Wish there were some gems like this coming out now.

  • take good care of me u gat my heart in ur hands this time

  • very great song thx

  • This is one of the songs that I've chosen for my wedding.

  • in regards to the wedding band, maybe his wife died or he's a divorcee and is not fully over it, so he's still wearing his wedding ring.

  • I was a itty bitty in Jamaica when this song came out but I so loveeee this song. Thanks to Jamaican radio they play everything and still do. Only in Jamaica u can go and still here these songs, or if a radio dj hits their head they would play this song in America.

  • @CoolPhyaMusic Yes only on Jamaica's radio stations. That's how I know these songs. They always play them.

  • This was my JOINT!

  • i had this albulm my freshman yearin college. Oh man i am old!lol

  • you were great jonathan ...

  • i think it's mariah carey standing in line really quick, i didn't see jennifer lopez

  • Oldie but a damn goodie, bring on the good memories :)

  • Oh man! what a great feeling inside of me! great souvenir....

  • Great song... but yeah, the wedding ban looks stupid. He looks like an adulterer!!! lol

  • @1BadassRN Maybe it's a no sex before marriage ring, lol. I can't even say that with a straight face, hahahaha.

  • wow I remember this song...geez time does fly!

  • I love this song but I don't understand why he has on a wedding ban in the video.

  • Smooth Jazz, baby. Smooth, cool jazz.

  • " this was good stuff back n da day"

  • the best

  • one of my all time fav..

  • I remember when this song use to get played in heavy rotation along with Surface's Happy. Those when the times when artist and musicians came with it.

  • Oh my GOD,..that is Jennifer Lopez!!

  • where?

  • i have this cd, this song came out when i was 9 yrs old, and i still love it

  • Beautiful.

  • It's such an homely song that can easily melt down your hearth to your love one that you desire.

  • my dad introduced this song to me and i was like 'oh daddy ur my hero'.haha. I love this song :)) full of passion!

  • love this song

  • uuuhhhhh, sooooo romantic..

  • 3:18-3:27 ...beautiful, I can actually feel the tenderness and love we all desire right when he sings that run ...does this kind of romantic love really exists?

  • Does anybody know the name of his best instrumetal, the video klip is of him playing a guitar in a desert...its his best song but i cant remember the title...please help!!!!

  • I never saw a video, but his best instrumental--in my opinion--was "Going Home." Might be it.

  • @DivljinaZmajevo . Going Home by Jonathan Butler

  • @DivljinaZmajevo . Its either "Going Home" or "Barenese" from Jonathan Butler

  • This is one of my favorite songs and one of my favorite videos. This song was so lyrical, musical, honest and just plain beautiful. The video is well shot and romantic. They don't make music or videos like this anymore. The video for this song today would have had them in bed already. At least were allowed to imagine back then.

  • This is one of my favorite song from Mr. Butler, didn't know he had a video for it. Gosh I love 80's music. I use to wait by the radio hoping it would play so I can record it. American radio do not play these songs anymore, but you can go to the Caribbean and hear it. This is what you call "draws drop chune" in Jamaica (meaning you will get lucky if you play it for your girl). Thanks for posting nini.

  • This song reminds me of my first love I was 20 y/o and the man i was in love with ..... well i lost my virginity to this song im no longer with him 2 children later but that song still takes me back to those day

  • How beautiful ! This is music for our souls.

  • What year did this song came out?

  • 1987...same year i was born

  • Thank you! I was 1 years old.

  • a true love song you can cherish forever with that specail some one in your life !

  • What a powerful song of love; the risks, joy and pain that comes with it. Jonathan Butler is a tremendous writer and singer of love songs, with all of the passion and gentleness that makes him a lifetime part of my musical journey. After my divorce in 1987, JB was a critical part of my transition into life and love again. It is wonderful to see him now as a true worshipper and man of God, which makes me appreciate him even more than before.

  • j'adore depuis que je suis totu petit ! ^^

  • This song says exactly how i feel about the guy i am seeing now. I am scared and nervous to death! But i really like him. Music is a great way to express your feelings towards persons and this does the job for me!

  • Thsi was one of the hottest tapes , when it came out. I played it to death. I met a special girl back then. It always reminds me of those innocent times. Back when love was something that we all thought lasted forever.

  • JB's earlier works (late 80s/early 90s) are some of the best available ever, must get back those old CDs...!!

  • One of the greatest love songs ever. Love Mr. Butler...

  • I sang this once to my then girlfriend, and she was all over me after wards.

  • I love playing this cuz it makes my missus bawl her eyes out what a git eh

  • J.B.'s the truth!!

  • Dedicated to all the beautiful girls on youtube,"take care of me" ladies

  • haha nice, man! very smooth...

  • Thats music love his sound

  • Man his love songs can melt heart.....real old skool love songs.

  • George Benson's old background singer.

  • I like this video i mean JB meet a woman begs her to take care of him and he spends a lot of money on her without the intent of having sex unlike most R&B singers of today

  • very nice i love his voice thanks KTF

  • I love his music - so soulful

  • Master of the Game. A song by Richard Jon Smith also from South Africa

  • Man, I saw him in concert a couple years ago in Miami, He's really a great guitarist, entetainer and very very underrated..I rememebr being a kid, and waiting for weeks to try to record this vid..and when it came on, i was so shocked it was finally on, i fell off my bed, and missed recording the beginning. i was pissed..

  • YO..I cant believe I just saw this video..Im still shaking..Jonathan Butler is the man..!! This was his best song EVER..!!those words are so true for a guy falling in love..I was a teen then, and grown now and now I really know what he was trying to say..

  • Jonathan BUTLER what a great artist/talent loved this song and numerous others he sang and wrote i miss the eighties

  • this video depicts a man shelling out much dinero on a hot chick *lol*, first ripping up brand a new plane ticket, then buying a bicycle, all the man's ballons, renting an AIR ballon...I'm kidding, I LOVED this as a kid growing up used to watch it over and over and anticipate adulthood and experiencing the things in the video (ha ha) yeah right...thanx 4 the video though moment of my youth
