  • this is easy, its not really the meter that is moving backwards.

ill just rewind what i just recorded,

  • Thanks for this post! Our meter has joined yours now and is in reverse hyper drive! We LOVE it and hope that in the near future more and more home owners can figure way to go whole house solar... Good for YOU!

  • so now you charge the electric company to come and read what energy they use from your system ;-) It's only fair right?

  • 2.13 Min. of Pure Non-Stoping Action

  • If you shot your video looking down on top of the rotating disc, we could have seen the markings that quickly show which way the disc is rotating. From the front we can't see anything until the black mark at the 0 point goes by.

  • WHat was your initial investment in the system, and how many years will it take to pay for itself?

  • @zeppelin67637 Well, we are a solar installation company here in Hawaii, so the investment for us was pretty much just the materials. Average payback on Oahu right now for residential is around 4 years.

  • Everything in his house must be 101% efficient

  • does it works with a digital meter?

  • so if you give back more than you use do you get a check..

  • @savagenomore actualy, they have to pay you if you give back more power then you use.

  • I will hack its wire and make it go backward! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA XD

  • ok all this means is that power is flowing back to the power lines and to other needed places.

  • it is magnetic resonance

  • maybe cole of infamous got into your house

  • what the heck

  • cool

  • They don't cost that much. It is ok!

  • How much are these panels/ battery banks?

  • @Rileyman2rr Thanks for your backup! :) Honestly, sometimes I don't understand all the hostility on the internet. Anyhow, there panels (SolarWorld 175s) are no longer available. They have a newer panel now-a-days, the SolarWorld 250. Also, there are no batteries on this system. SMA SunnyBoy 4K inverter, its directly grid tied. As for prices, you'd have to look into that yourself. The prices on PV equipment tends to shift like the stock market! Good luck with your own system!

  • Can I put you video on my site? divinerighttechnologies.webs.com

  • @kevinisek2009 Sure go for it! Video is public, so can be used freely. Please just link a copy as apposed to dling the video and re-posting it to your own site.

  • Maybe he is just in china....

  • LOL

  • Step 1:Hack the electric meter so it spins backwards(Magnets will do best)

    Step 2:Wait for the bill

Step 3:The electricity on the bill will apear with a "-" so they owe you money

    Step $:Profit?!?

  • @Anonymusq Step 1: Break the seals on the electricity meter so they know you have tampered with it.

Step 2: Wait for the meter man to come by and look at aforementioned tampered meter.

Step 3: Wait three to five business days for the court summons to your hearing.

Step 4: Pay massive fines and maybe a nice stay in the local Jail.

  • As long as the PV system is hooked into the electricity legally it's ok. There needs to be expensive electronics that ensure the PV system shuts down in case of an outage, otherwise you will be feeding power to everyone on the block and possibly kill a utility worker. Do it right or leave it alone..

  • Hey! It is amazing. How did you do that? Can you show me? Email me at:Ariffinhb@yahoo.com

  • It depends on where you live but some power companies will pay you for generating more power then you have used.

  • Useless,....... I guess HI hasnt gotten the new digital meters yet, not happening w/ the meter I got

  • they have security ring in iowa too and if you tamper with it they pull the plugs out of the transformer a freind of mine did it when they shut him off a mounth before winter took them a year to notice it they were adding power to a new house from the same transformer when they noticed now he has a big bill with them he should have fliped it evrey month so they wouldnt know how much he got

  • this is about the most uninteresting video on youtube..

  • If you know what I mean, about 350 units a quarter, seams reasonable, lets be honest, they loose more on pylons fizzleing than I'm using

  • I could reverse it to 000000 in a month if needs be, but you have to show your using some !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you can make these spin back real easy, just connect live in to live out and take off a centre tap off through a winding to ground, this ones a walk in the park, when I connect my gadget it fly's round backwards real fast !!

  • Yes, here in Cali they have to pay you by law. DWP/SCE will send you a check at the end of the year for the surplus energy you send back at a certain percentage of prime energy costs.

A FEED-IN TARIFF sets a flat rate that a utility must pay someone who generates renewable electricity. Feed-in tariffs allow small producers of renewable energy a certain return on investment. Because the rates paid under these tariffs are set higher than standard energy prices.

  • how do u do that

  • Yup, get solar panels on your roof. meter spins backwards, get a low bill to about 5 bucks or less =P

  • Comment removed

  • Just put a magnet and it will slow down

  • u save on mony

  • ahahahhahah....lolzzz it is Video editing..like when black spot come at that time pause the video and then play and rewind the video so the watcher have felts like the meter is rewind but video is rewinding at tat time... :PPPPPPPPP

  • wait a minute!!!! you can hack this electronic power meter so you dont have to pay for this electronic bill?!?!?!?

  • @Ginounknown Well, its not really a hack, the utility know that we have a photovoltaic system. And yes, you can get your electric bill down to around $18/mo here in Hawaii.

  • @Choker14 Even better but be careful if no security ring just pull it strait out like its plugged in just pull and flip the whole meter upside down. plug back in and there u go. you have to use it regular for half the month so they don't owe you money and check on you. Did it for years. Now i have a security ring.Make sure you know what day they read the meeter or your busted...hahaha

  • @Ginounknown

It's not an electronic meter !!!!!

  • @Watsupwiya but in the description.... is said it is..... you now im LOST!!!!

  • @Ginounknown

Yes ! and it's not an electronic meter, it's a mechanical one, electronic meters have a digital display.

link live in to live out and take off a center tap to ground through a winding and the loading pulls the meter backwards !

  • does anyone know if this works with digital meters as they changed ours 2 years ago?

  • if you get it to turn back wards the companies will pay you but the will keep an eye on your bills so if you stop it they will send some1 out to check it its not worth it you will have a fine that is 3x the ammount they paid you

  • @xXlittlestu007Xx Dude Get a Clue... If you are Generating More energy than you use.. The Power company is not going to Fine you anything...

If you have solar panels on your House You are likely producing more than you consume anyhow... and the Power Company is NOT going to send somebody out if you all of a sudden stop feeding back into the grid..and Contrary to Popular MYTH It is Perfectly Legal to Feed energy back into the Grid

  • wait so they pay you money?

  • @ThorsDiciple No, the utility won't pay you for any extra money you put into the grid, but you can get your electric bill down to zero.

  • @Choker14 the electric company will give you a credit for the electricity that you sell back so when you need to use the grid again you dont have to pay for it.

  • @Choker14 In texas and Oklahoma they pay you money back for energy contributed from wind and solar are you sure it is not so everywhere?

  • @Choker14 they do here :) but only if its solar or wind

  • As I say, newer (such as Solar) is not always better.

  • i noticed there's a security ring on that meter, i guarntee you've tampered with it before

  • @patlauzon44 Unfortunately no. All meters in Hawaii get security rings.

  • @Choker14 ....no necesitas los anillos o los sellos creo 'sellos'

  • @patlauzon44 about everywhere security rings are on meters.

  • @patlauzon44 If the meter DOESN'T have a security seal, it has been tampered with.

  • The footage was just reversed

  • Nice But The New Smart Meter Don't Run Backwards ! so Now We Have to Pay For A Net Meter And No More Home Made Wind & SOLAR Panels !! any Way We Can Do somthing about it ? ty see ya.

  • Holy-Terrorist:>*=* i knowed is this electricity maked!

  • raly stopid

  • That is stopid

  • shot video and give reverse effect to video its run backward

  • making electricity with the sun, say good buy to you electric bills!

till there another one of those damn clouds! its its night time!

  • @cmathew4 Ya! lol. We design the systems to account for the fact there is no sun at night. You don't want to over size the pv system, cause the utility here won't pay you for the extra you put into the grid. But, you can get you bill down to zero.

  • @Choker14 Ever thought of putting more that are rigged up to a battery pack of some sort? Charge during the day, use during the night?

  • @kikaro11 We do have PV systems that have battery backups, but the cost is much higher and in our opinion, not as reliable. The expected battery life is around 5 years and need to be replaced = more waste into the environment.

  • so then how do you tie the solar panel into your whole electricity

  • its against state law to backfeed power where i'm at.

  • solar panels

  • in soviet russia, electric meter spins you

  • fake he just recorded it running normally and reversed the video

  • @xeeweexRC I don't even know how I would do that. Sorry about the tripod fail. I just stood there and held the camera.

  • @xeeweexRC acctually no, when u have a solar panel system on your house, the extra electicity you dont need is fed back through the pv system and to a storing thing, and when there are clouds over it, the grid needs power from a different source, the electric company :P

  • This is super exciting. Do we get to watch the grass grow in the next video?

  • @justdfactsmaam Why are you watching a video of an electric meter if your looking for excitement?

  • @Choker14 pwned

  • @Choker14 To young to pay their own bills......

  • @Choker14 u watched the video too so who r u to be talking?

  • Comment removed

  • @justdfactsmaam hahahah.the world needs less dicks like you, but that did make be laugh. super exciting. lol

  • @fassay I try!

  • @justdfactsmaam Doesn't pay their own bills either....

  • @justdfactsmaam i agree with choker14, if ur looking for excitement y r u going to search for electricity meters, or even click on it, dipshit

  • @TheTrigger1029 So you name call now? Do you kiss ur mother with that mouth? Class act dude.

  • @justdfactsmaam /watch?v=LR-Eozbzf0U

  • Stupid staples and their easy buttons......

  • Arrggg, thar be stormy seas!

  • Should've hidden the serial No. Cos they'll find you!

  • @wombraider091 I'm not too worried about that, cause the system is legal.

  • @wombraider091 U THINK THIS CAT DONT KNOW WHAT HES DOING, LMAO......

  • Selling electricity to the power company at retail rates, I expect if they knew you would get a letter from their lawyer and possible disconnection from a field technician. The normal practice for doing this is to have a 2nd meter installed, and excess power you generate gets recorded on the 2nd meter.

  • the problem is that THIS VIDEO IS PLAYING BACKWARDS LOLOLOL;O

  • The problem is that utility companies...electricity, gas, water, garbage, all have very high basic rates which means you pay a lot for just having the service. The actual cost of electricity itself isn't so much. I have an apartment that I do not use, yet I get to pay $52 in electricity and $27 in water because of this. The totals would be only slightly higher if I did live there.

  • @dkw12002 Yes, that's true. Hawaii has the highest electric rates in the nation. Current residential rate on Oahu is around $0.26 / KWH.

  • Around here, Cleco has to credit you for any excess power you put into their system through use of generators or solar power.

  • I wish mine did that...

  • No one ever posts whether or not any power meter, old and new works, or the process to request one that is grid-tie capable from your power company.

  • @tubeadelic It really depends on which meter you have. Most of the older mechanical meters, like the one here, will spin backward. Most newer digital meters will not. Here in Hawaii there is a procedure and legal documentation to do to get HECO (our utility) to upgrade the meter to a digital Net Meter.

  • reading - 66395

  • lol thats cool

  • so how is your solar grid attached to the service grid without having any problems? thats the only part i dont understand. by the way i know the process and construction of electrical distro so fire away with the big words! :P

  • @codemsan The inverter does all the work. The AC from the inverter goes to a disconnect and sub panel which is hot tapped to the mains from the utility.

  • @Choker14 if you are backfeeding the powerlines, how is that safe for hydro workers working on downed lines

  • @geoduct That is because the inverter automatically shuts down when the grid power is lost. The system stops backfeeding anytime the grid is down.

  • @honoluluboy88 o ok via some sort of seluniod or something

  • so if you do this than does the electric company pay you

  • @theiceman259 No. We have net metering here in Hawaii, so basically you can take your electric bill to zero, but if you produce more than you use the utility eats the difference.

  • @Choker14 Here in north carolina, i believe duke power will pay you

  • @theiceman259 In Australia the electricity companies do send you a cheque if you generate more electricity then what you used.

  • in europe, electrical meters has mechanical blockage that prevents the disk from turning backwards and i have no idea how electronical meter works, that is starting to replacing meters with disk.

  • 2800 watts is no joke. With efficient lighting and appliances you could end up with a check from the power company each month. WAY TO GO

  • not very good ...

  • i know how to do that

  • Very cool i posted this on my site

  • Ya, that would be 2800 watts on the roof.

  • thats 2800 watts right ?

  • The PV array is 16 SolarWorld 175s.

  • how big is your solar array?
