@KawasakiRider1337 Thats a little incorrect. They need practiacally equal and the 4stroke will run you a shit ton more money. Many pro teams have said if it was still aloud they'd ride 2 strokes in races because they could cut there parts budget in half.

@Calikid42O if the bike will not idle ar at, probably because your idle jets in your carb are all clogged up with crap try going threw your whole carb and clean everything that should do the job

Na 2 stroke 250s have way better acceleration but 4 stroke 250s are very reliable

i've got an '02 yz250f and wanted to know if the '02 and an an '05 lower fork guards interchangeable. I just busted one of mine and the other one's on its way out. could someone get back to me on this, i just think the '02 lower fork guards look too weird and blocky.

sweet looking bike, to answer that previous question, they dont produce as much bhp as a 125 but they are incredibly torquey over mid-high revs (as im sure you well know). for this reason, i am sellin my yz 125 and getting a 250f, they're so much more suited to track use. the powerband on a 125 is crazy. what year is this?

@buzzender YZ125's stock are putting out 35 horse power, and a YZ250F is putting out around 35 to 36 horse power... so they equal out about the same, but where the 250F has the advantage is at the back wheel. It's able to get the power to the ground just as quick as a 125 but it's also capable of getting traction to the ground better than the 125. Thats one of the main reasons the AMA switched to four-strokes, They were just better off the starting line than two-strokes... period.

@conrail192 ultimately, the tyre dictates how much TRACTION your going to get. the only difference is the power delivery, with a yz 125 you have to ring its neck to produce the full 30 odd bhp, so when going from no throttle to full throttle in a very short space of time, the wheel IS going to spin, there is no two ways about it. with a 250f, you don't have to give it full throttle to produce sufficient power, so you can more accurately control power output, reducing wheelspin.
