  • I'm always surprised by how mean this song is! "Why do all the boys just pass you by, could it be you just don't try or is it the clothes you wear?" Just change everything about yourself and people will like you! Great message...

  • OMG!!! how I got to this page? I got lost in Youtube! Who are thses strange people, Where justin bieber...

  • She's beautiful !

  • me happy

  • Ok I will get inside my time machine , go back to the 60's and marry her. sigh

  • Reminds me of better times. This song brings back great memories.

  • If i remember correctly this song was No. 1 in Australia for ~26 weeks. A record then

  • Marry me..I'm alone. Your timeless.....

  • What a gorgeous voice she had. How can one not hear this song and not feel happy?

  • heard this on the way to work this morning. What a beautiful uplifting tune.

    Greetings from Aberdeen, Scotland.

  • today,s artist except for celtic women would run like a scared dog yelping wetting them selvestail between it,s leg,s out of sheer fright if they had to go one on one wit this talent elgance class

  • what a beautiful lady judiyh was and such a powerful voice a very gifted and talented group. Toyal class elgance all the way noi if but,s or maybes about it

  • wonderful !

  • At least 34 people did not get flowers!

  • so reminds me of my childhood.....love this song..

  • More artists should consider capping their live shows by doing a dance routine with an enormous flower arrangement.

  • Gimme thumbs if you can't hear this without thinking of Homer Simpson singing; "Hey there blimpy boy!"

  • LOL ironically her real name was Judith Cock

  • Oh memories!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Ich bin in der falschen Generation geboren.!

  • Hey there, blimpy boy.

  • I don't know who you are but thanks for posting this. when I was little and in the orphanage we'd go out and if this was on the radio I always felt better

  • how white this time era was

  • @thisfuckinsucks1 You do talk rubbish, Look at Chuck Berry, Fats Waller, Fats Domino, stacks of groups had blacks or coloured people in. This was an Australian group, look at USA music and you'll find non white artists

  • I love the way she effortlessly reaches those high notes at the end. Such power too.

  • L.O.V.E.L.Y.

  • This tune is so beautiful it brought a couple of tears to my eyes.

  • Just great...feel good music !

  • 33 dislikers,could it be you just don't try?

  • Someone spilled coffee on her just before taping and there wasn't enough time to change so she had to find a way to hide it.

Great song from a great but crazy decade.

  • This is the perfect woman. She could quit all the fame and success and go have family. Nowadays singers grow old and cranky because they don't have a proper family their whole life.

  • Seriously, f**k new music.

  • she's genuine

  • Joyous!

  • These songs make me happy and are so much nicer than the garbage they call music now.

  • Happy Music !!!

  • If i could be a singer, my number one mission would be to bring back songs like these and replace the rubbish music we listen to today! what legends!!!

  • what a talented group thhey were no truer word,s were spoken edwardhil no filthy sicking jungle noise here and hick music only true class talent elgance no if but,s or maybe,s about it.

  • All I can say is WOW. I was young when this was a hit and I didn't realize how great The Seekers and especially, Judith were. A great voice and very cute too!

  • Judith has such an amazing voice! Singers like her are few and far between. Thanks for sharing.

  • Their last concert...and Judith just goes for it.

  • Have you watched MTV lately? Holy crap it's just awful.

  • @MrJohndl MTV was good only for its first 2 or 3 years. Today, it's just a huge waste.

  • I have to admit that I don't recall the Stones back in '68 and that, most likely, was because our parents wouldn't have allowed us to watch or listen to them. The beauty of entertainers like The Seekers was that they were never offensive and the whole family could sing along to their music or watch 'em on TV without the least concern over what they might get up to on stage. So, yes, you're quite correct, they were "straightedge" back then. Oh that those days would return.

  • From what I understand, after this song was over, Judith went backstage and cried her eyes out for relief that this stressful life of touring was over, and she could finally relax.

  • super song

  • It was all so clean and wholesome then. Everything's rotten and sleazy today.

  • @MrGoblin60 to be honest though, they were considered very straightedge and wholesome back then as well. Just look at the rolling stones in 1968 :L

  • @MrGoblin60

    well said!

  • @MrGoblin60 Well... yes and no.

Do you remember the movie Georgy Girl? It was not all happy shiny nice.

  • @MsPony65 Of course not, you're quite correct. However, there are so many social aspects that have deteriorated in comparison. We didn't even have to lock up our house or car back then. My elderly parents place is like a fortress today with steel bars and shutters on every window. Stabbings and bashings of vulnerable old people was unheard of then. There'd have been outrage if something like that happened in the mid-sixties.

  • @MrGoblin60 i agree. in rhianna's new film clip she practically masturbates for all of us to see and she wears little. problem is, the under 30 year olds buy that crap. computerized singing and heavy beats to mask everything so they have to have filthy filmclips so young boys will watch and consequently buy.

  • @MrGoblin60 Yeah dead right it is, and we are waking up to where all this is coming from. This is deliberate intentional destruction of our lives our music, art, God, food, water, air, money and savings all with the evil intent of making us slaves to the New world order! ell this aint happening on my watch.

Oh yeah check out agenda 21; its all there!

  • What a beautiful voice, but why is she stuck clutching half a flower stall?

  • @jaxxstraw The notes states this was a farewell performance, and this was the farewell song. Floral bouquets are often presented to female artists at the end of stage performances, so this particular song may have been an encore, leaving her stuck performing with the floral behemoth.

  • oh my god amazing.

  • Such a wonderfull voice!

  • The corsage was a little over the top, but cheery none the less...

  • Wonderful.

  • Simply awesome :-)

  • Easily the best vocal popette of her generation.

  • cool checkout my songs on reverbnation on johndenver1958 orr elvis52presley!! i used to get teased when i was going to school in chicago ..georgy girll ugh what a pain. juidth is just great!

  • Judith Durham has been on tour for 2 years now and her voice has lost nothing. She is 67 years old and sounds like when she was 27. I sure do miss all that music now having been a child of the 60's. The seekers were a killer group and under rated at the time in my opinion.

  • Thanks for posting. This is the first time I have heard the complete song from the final (1968) concert. When it was shown on TV this was the song they faded out the programme to. It brings back memories of being 8 years old again!

  • Thanks for posting. This is the first time I have heard the complete song from the final (1968) concert. When it was shown on TV this was the song they faded out the programme to.

  • they are still one of my all time favorite groups-growing up in the sixties sure was great!!!

  • i'm sure I've heard this song a million times, but it never occurred to me that the singer would be cute as hell.

  • Judith has got to have one of the most unique voices ever,we used to sing this in the playground when i was about 5, happy days

  • hey kids this is when musicians played i-n-s-t-r-u-m-e-n-t-s

  • @subfourrun and singers who could sing

  • do the youtube search with this -whistling rufus judith durham-it's a hoot. That is real.

  • i think barbara streisand would blow the lot away...cobwebs and all lol.

  • Still great !!!

  • why did she leave the seekers? this is such a great sound!

  • dump the communism and we can all have cable

  • Judith goes for it...and gets there! Amazing. Wish I was at this concert.

  • for the most part female singers of today are simply models. They don't/can't sing but they look good so people that don't really have any appreciation for music listen with their eyes. (lady gaga Britney spears, Nickie menage (sp) The problem goes for men as well at times but a good male singer will be appealing to women no matter what he looks like.

The exception in recent memory is Adele singing There's a fire! simply perfection.

  • She was made to sing. Its a gift. And she shares this. Just wonderful.

  • If Judith Durham were young today and competed on American Idol or any Idol shows from whatever countries she would blow them all away.

  • @edwardhl1 she would blow them away even at her age now! no problem! I sa her two years ago in melbourne, she did an accapella concert at the recital hall. She still sounds exactly the same, even without accompaniment. brilliant . she must be almost 70 years old and she still has that incredible talent.

  • @edwardhl1

I really dont think she would because she is too real

  • @Mascro1977 I agree, she's beautiful, but too natural for the fake people today they'd call her ugly.

  • @edwardhl1 I'm from England and I totally agree with you x

  • @edwardhl1 You are so right and that smile of hers is enough to blow anyone away. A smile to die for. Talent like this is so hard to find this day and age.

    Respect.

  • @edwardhl1 disagree.......because she HAS talent

  • love it and i love her voice :)

  • my gosh what a voice remember the days

  • i love being named georgie!

  • Who counted this in?A wee bit up tempo?

  • axl rose rules

  • 28 folks need to shed their dowdy feathers and fly!

  • kind of a depressing song if you listen to the lyrics.

  • Hot Happening Hit Of 68.

    Georgy- Great Gear!!

  • Love this womans spunk !

  • @handsomechuck1....mind you there could be one or two decent singers out there, still to discovered. I was really sad at the loss of Amy Winehouse, tremendous talent she was. And I'm still angry at those close to her who never take appropriate actions to safeguard her. I've just picked up a book today about Amy, but nothing like listening to her,bye Amy, and you take care my friend !!

  • @cboncklis....you are right to mention those lady singers from back then, classic and legendary they were indeed. nothing like relaxing on a Sunday afternoon with vintage wine and one of those ladies, Ella, Sarah, Jo, Connie, Doris and Dinah serenading you and your young lady, eh?...well, we have their voice recorded for our enjoyment... thanks, and all the best !!

  • So happy my father told me about the seekers. Im 19 and look forward to listen to them for the next 50 years, roll on the good times

  • great memories of watching this on CBC. What a beautiful song.

    .

  • SPOILED we had to hit the TV to get 5 channels and color was like time travel

  • @Syzygy60 Tou had FIVE channels!!! ??? Oh yeah, you're American... We had 3 channels til the early 80's!

Now i've got 223 channels (of shite)

  • I wish she sang Geordiegirl!!

  • This is awesome! Love the ENORMOUS farewell bouquet she has! XD

  • Dyerestraits thanks for ur thoughts my love for all animals made this world a nicer place for me. U too I bet. Peace and goodness for u and all who matter to u

  • we used to sing this in the playground to each other, happy days

  • The 60's were great love that song and the movie

  • Now this is what Youtube is all about FAB music. FAB songs.

Jim Dale wrote what I would say is a very uplifting song. Back when you did not have to spend £100,000 on dressing a stage with lights and special effects.

Thanks for sharing a fantastic video.

  • she looks a bit like Babs

  • Oh God - I still remember all this!

  • I used to sing this to my cat and she seemed to like it and i loved her so much. She was with me for 17 yes. I just lost her and my heart aches so much for her. She was my most loyal friend and loved me no matter what. RIP my sweet Kravitz we'll meet again someday..... =^•,•^=

  • @Kravitzlove50 I know how you feel.

  • Judith was and IS awesome! I love The Seekers!

  • I agree with @macvatu!

  • i greww up with this song usedto rolerskate toit it brings backa great memory formmy childhood ty for finding it

  • When I was a little kid, and this song was a hit...it'd come onto to the radio. I'd listen to it carefully and wonder"who on earth this georgy girl was????????" Never got an answer but the song always made me happy inside.

  • this is a happy song and that's how i remember the memories associated with it

  • Wow! I was only twenty-one back in '68. Judith has such a wonderful, strong voice, which I really love.

I can still remember how this song seemed to be always on the radio. It was the theme song from the movie by the same name, Georgy Girl, staring Lynn Redgrave (R.I.P.)

It was a cute little movie.

  • I'd probs tap the chick

  • uplifting. very.

  • Judith stands a long way from the microphone, yet her crystal clear voice is so Amazing.

  • Where had the lovely singers gone?

The meaning of 'Georgy 's a little bit difficult, though.

    Anyway the beautiful song ever.

  • God I wish I was born these days :(

  • In the 60s, 70s, we were spoilt rotten with extremely talented female singers, like Judith Durham, Dusty Springfield, Mama Cass, Barbara Dixon and the Motown females singers - Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack, Dionne Warwick and many others. I mentioned these ladies coz their voice are so strong and clear and when they sing the sun shines on you and the skies are always blue, when you hear them. Thank heavens for YouTube I spend hours listening to them.

  • @macvatu well said. :-D

  • @macvatu I agree. Music today is soooo depressing that I run back to these cool songs. I wish today's music did not glorify sex, violence and bad behavior. What have we done to our world and I am in my 20s

  • @macvatu I would add the ladies from the 30s, 40s and 50s era. Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, Sarah Vaughn, Connie Francis, Jo Stafford, Dinah Washington and I could go on and on. 90% of female pop vocalists today cannot sing live and they often sound like prepubescent girls in their 20s and 30s. It is sad when you think of it!! I want to hear women singing when they reach that age.

  • @macvatu In the old days there wasn't technology like we have now. You could either sing or you couldn't, and they could.

  • @macvatu Couldn't have put it better myself and your words are so true.

i think the singers of the 60s sung because they enjoyed it and had a talent they wanted to share with the world.

The female singers ( if thats what you can call some of them ) of today just are not up too much and do it for the money and fame and most of thier music would not sell unless it was down to what I would call the soft porn videos that they make to go with the songs they try to sing.

    Respect

  • @macvatu As well as Karen Carpenter and VIkki Carr...

  • A love song is forever. The soul of mankind never ceases to respond to the wordless beauty thereof. This is the main reason for the depression, sadness, etc.of humanity. The obvious negatives of selfishness, pride, arrogance, etc.do absolutely nothing for anyone--not even the producer of such. The greatest people I have ever known were never on a movie, sitcom, or otherwise. There have been some excellent people there but for I and my house we serve the God of love. Obey Acts 2:38.

  • Wonderful song and of course great voice, like and angel...

  • All good Protestant News Readers @ Nine should hum this during ad breaks in appreciation of the lass.

  • Judith looks like the 80's rocker Joan Jett.

  • I've watched all the Seekers videos on YouTube, and Judith Durham is always joyful and commanding, harmonic and in perfect pitch. What a delight to re-live The Seekers all these years later.

  • Their is a deep positive message to this song. This song has inspired many a lonely soul.

  • What I like most about the generation of music this song is from, everyone is so nicely dressed. Guys in a suit and tie, women in a nice dress, it just looks so classy.

  • I was 7 when this song was all over the radio, and I still remember it. Late 60s and early 70s was such a great time for music.

  • Wow! Amazing! Just imagine being there at the time. Thank you to Proculled for taking the time to post this on youtube and lets not forget the miracle of the internet that allows such talent to live on forever.

  • Judith Durham forever.

  • Like an Upper w out a Trace...I bow

  • I can remember this playing in the house, I was still at junior school. Now that's what I call music

  • I loved this song - still do. You can hear her smiley face when she sings!

  • Judith Durham ... The little Aussie Beauty w/ a spot on voice!

  • @gto66solstice08 .....I dont know about her being a "beauty" , but she sure could sing...

  • if ilve in the 60's, and i was 30 in that era, i would smooch Judith. She's too damn cute!!!

  • This song has new meaning after reading of Judith's relief after the show, and the group, was finished. The world would see a new Georgy Girl!

  • I showed my son this video so he could see what the world looked like the year I was born. He was surprised I was that old. I guess that is a 7 year old's opinion. I remember this playing on the radio and it always makes me sentimental.

  • One of the purist, most natural voices pop has ever heard.

  • MAybe Geogie likes the way she looks.

  • almost a million and a half people have viewed this-you know she is great-I mean they are great!!!

  • love you judith

  • Great video and channel thank you so much.

  • Judith's voice is (and still is) amazing!

  • The guitarist on their right looks kinda like Micky from the Monkees.

  • i luv judith durham. what a voice, great times

  • Love it, love it , love it! The music from those days is priceless. And the female singer isn't bad looking either.

  • @primogennaio She is beautiful compared to lady Gaga and Britney Spears

  • love this song!!!!

  • I remember doing a dance to this in gym class. It was awesome! Wjhy don't we have this music anymore

  • Is this DVD avaliable?

  • @BarryCFCOK No it's not avaliable on DVD and most likely never will.

  • A great inspireation !

  • I had a girlfriend 'back in the day' called Georgy (Georgina) Ah Happy memories :)

  • *loves

  • my mum LOVED the seekers, love listening to the LPs :)

  • I WANT TO GO BACK TO YEAR 1966....REALLY LOVE THEIR KIND OF MUSIC. WHERE CAN I FIND A PICTURE OF JUDITH & THE SEEKERS (1968)? I WANT TO PRINT IT IN MY SHIRT.

  • I remember waking up to this song in the mornings in 1966 on my parents radio. It was such an inspiration and got me in a good mood for the day. Thank you Judith and the Seekers -- I will always be grateful for the many moments of joy you gave me -- then and now.

  • Farewell! :-(

  • In Australia, it's already July 3rd! Happy birthday, Judith! You're an inspiration to this 41 year old woman! Keep up the excellence! :) Thanks for all the music.
