  • If you are lucky, you can find this on that ancient medium called VHS videotape.

  • Claire and C.D. reminded me of Burns and Allen.

  • Lynsey de Paul wrote the theme song she was so sexy

  • I remember watching this back in 78 or 79 when English TV was on a tear. This was the time the English sent over "I Claudius","Anna Karenina", "Good Neighbors", "Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin", "Rebecca" and quite a few more I forgot. These two were so good together. They also were great in Wodehouse Playhouse back in 1974

  • Back around 1980 I saw this show on KAET (PBS) Channel 8 in Phoenix, and I love each and every episode of this British import.

  • John Alderton reminds me of Paul McCartney i love John Alderton and Paul McCartney.

  • John Alderton..brillaint actor and as for Pauline..xxxxxxxxxx

  • Own this on video for NTSC. One of the best comedies ever! Never stops being funny.

  • I always fancied her

  • This is a recreation of "Burns and Allen"

  • Another wonderful memory of a great show. Thanks for sharing.

  • @PeasGraveny By which I mean RANDY Marsh,of course.

  • They are such a lovely couple. I like them forever!

I was in London when this TV shaw was on, and also loved them in

    Upstairs Downstairs. Bless them both.

  • Anyone know where I can order this in the U.S.?

  • @soulgirl66 Amazon.com have it on vhs, they're also selling the imported series on region2,you'll need a multi regional DVD player to watch region2.

I bought a multi regional player to watch The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda.

  • I was only a nipper back then but i thought Pauline Collins was fit.

  • @peaceman1234567 Yes indeed.Those 70's wimmins,man.

  • He looks like Paul McCartney meets Sean Connery. Must've been good for his career.

  • I just LOVE This show!!!! thank-you

  • my god....haven`t seen this since 1975!

  • She looks like Molly in corrie very uncanny.

  • This was the first Britcom I ever saw and I loved it! I actually use a pen name named after C.D.!

  • I watched this show with my mom years ago, I like the episode where she painted everything white including the garden. The British have the best comedies.

  • I watched this show with my mom years ago, I like the episode where she painted everything white including the garden.

  • I loved this when I was 9.Thought it was so cool and hip.boy has it aged badly! Also,I had no idea Pauline is in it.Ah,the memory cheats!

  • I used to watch this. But it was bollocks.

  • When I was 12 I thought this was the epitome of urbane cool. I used to think, "Wow, what a cool young couple!" Now I'm 48, they're 70, and this clip suggests it's not aged as badly as I feared. It's now on my Amazon wishlist.

  • Iused to watch this show in NY the year PBS showed all the Britcoms- what was that- 74? 75? I never forgot that theme, nor CD and Clara. Never thought I'd see it again. TY

  • medallion man

  • I like the show, and I was only about 11 when it was made, and had never seen it before I got a copy from amazon UK a few weeks ago. (Yes, there's a way to play PAL DVDs on your PC in the US without switching your region code, but I'm not posting it.) Pauline Collins is immeasurably talented, and probably could have won an Emmy for work on Gilligan's Island, but this is still a good show. It's not as brilliant as Upstairs, Downstairs, but it's still a good showcase for Collins.

  • It's another version of the Burns & Allen show....

  • The only good thing about this programme was Lynsey de Paul's theme song. In five minutes I haven't laughed once. Great clothes though. So two good things.

  • @SeventiesMania I agree, it's not funny, but it does have period charm. Actually, I don't think I even thought it was funny back in the day, so I guess it got by on charm then, too!

  • I love this show; it was shown on Channel 11 in Chicago.

  • @Hillari61 I remember this! I was a teenager when they were showing it on Sunday nights here in Chi-Town. This was the era of Benny Hill, Monty Python, Upstairs Downstairs (which featured John and Pauline) and the classic Masterpiece Theatre episodes being introduced by the droll Alaister Cooke. I loved this sweet sitcom, and still do.

  • @Hillari61 Yes! I watched this as well.... or, at least my parents did. I remember it being so "70s groovy".

  • @Hillari61 I used to watch it all the time on 11. You would think someone would release this for the US market by now.

  • @cubdukat

Very surprised this was shown in the US.

  • @Hillari61 me too and after all these decades I still can remember that theme song .

  • @Hillari61

I too remember watching it on WTTW. Claire and C.D. reminded me of Burns and Allen.

  • This was the only Britcom you could watch in Boston in 1976 (Monty Python doesn't count).

  • used to watch this. I loved and miss those simple days

  • I love their mod and groovy look .

  • anyone got a clip of Lynsey de Paul singing the hit theme tune?

  • @dt44ttfn Well, better late than never here's Lynsey de Paul's theme song from 'No,Honestly' that you requested.

    watch?v=kz06eCFF-oI

  • That is a mighty fine '70s ensemble Mr.Alderton. Might fine.

  • You must make an NTSC version available for the U.S. fans!

  • @picesdavid Google a site "Playing Pal format on your DVD player" Or similar. It lists all US DVD players, and codes you enter into your DVD player with your remote to make it work. But I have found that all the newer American DVD players already will play PAL format, and derivatives. I'm enjoying all the great BBC shows now.

  • Ordered my copy....... now just waiting for Network to release Beryls Lot And Moody and Pegg and Spring and Autumn with Jimmy Jewel.

  • @TIBBSY Beryls Lot? Moody & Pegg? Spring and Autumn? you're not seriously waiting with baited breath to pay money for these terrible programmes. some things are best left as memories.

  • Other peoples memories will be different than yours...I think you maybe of a different age....nonetheless memories are memories.

  • @TIBBSY I am certainly of a age to remember them first time round! like on the buses, love thy neighbour these programmes all seemed good and maybe they were then, but 30 years on would I want to pay to sit through them again I think not.

  • @TIBBSY saying all that I have had a big crush on Pauline collins since no honestly, just wish she had left Alderton for me ;)

  • Well they have just released Moody And Pegg so somebody's listening...lol.

  • Lol No, Hostestly The compleat Series.

    That gag writes it's self.
