  • That song is always playing all the time in Japan.

  • @elephantmaniac nonsense

  • Did you choose the location through the CIEE program? I'm only familar with Kansai Gaidai since most of the people I watch here in YouTube went there. Just yesterday I discover Sophia University listed in the study abroad in Japan programs in the university I'm planning to transfer and didn't thought there was one located in Tokyo. How was it there?

  • i was thinking of doing CIEE study abroad 2011 O: Did you like the program? is it worth all the money ?

  • i'm going to attend sophia next year...do you like it? Like hows the enviroment? are the people nice? and um whats the school's address plz. can't find it and i really want to locate it on google maps to see how far it is from places. plz and thank you ;]

  • wow japan :x

  • what's the name of the song in the video???

  • @Korio92 The song is Tokyo Smile by Capsule

  • @Korio92 Tokyo Smiling (Not smile, sorry) by Capsule

  • omg I love this song. what's the name of it?

  • Omg can't wait I'm going spring semester to Sophia University!! Question: Did you know those people in your group before going to Japan? Because I'm pretty sure I'm going solo since my friend wasn't accepted into the program. Gonna be all aloneT^T

  • @MsCarramae lol funny you should ask. a lot of people in this video, i didn't know until that day. you meet people very quickly, don't worry

  • Can you study any major in a study abroad program ? Im just starting college and I plan to major in nursing. Is this something I can study in Japan ?

  • @nwallace72 for ciee, you can take any classes you want but you're need one japanese language course, and one related to japanese culture... the rest can be whatevert. the only problem is that the classes that are offered in english are kind of limited and usually don't have anything like advanced sciences, or engineering classes, or any of that stuff. if you are fluent in japanese you can take those classes but, if you plan on going, try saving your gen ed electives for when you go abroad

  • @nwallace72 you'll have a hard time finding classes that fit your major specifically. try to save your gen eds for when you go abroad

  • whats the song name it so lively its making me cringemobile!!! title and artist please lol

  • I was just there at most of the same places you are at lol. I will be attending Temple University in Minato Ward, Tokyo next January, moving there this November.

  • I'm going to be going to Ritsumeikan in Kyoto next year. This looks like a lot of fun...

  • If my university doesn't have a study abroad program what are some things I should try and do to make a transfer for a semester or two and make the credits count? Should I contact the specific Japanese university first and get info then go from there?

  • @SanguineBullet667 I don't know what school you go to but the way it works at mine is: if there is a location that you're interested in that your university has no program for, you can petition for them to let you go there granted you have a good reason (ie. its related to your major, your career, your life goals, etc)

A lot of Japanese univ. have study abroad programs

    I would

    1. Look for study abroad programs online

    2. Bring the info to your school adviser, see what they think

  • @SanguineBullet667

Also, (read my other comment first), if you want to make sure your credits transfer over.... you should find the list of classes offered at that school, look into ones that you may take, and show them to your school adviser too, and ask if you can get transfer credits for them

the whole process is kind of a pain in the neck... but its well worth it, good luck!

  • I want to go to australia with the CIEE program for 1 high school year. !

  • do it! it'd probably be awesome

  • I wish I'd have applied earlier to high school, then I'd be able to go to Japan. damn it.

how much japanese did you know before you went there? did you take some kind of course before? :)

  • I took japanese for 2 years in college before i came to japan... i highly recommend knowing at least a little before going

  • I really like the song you chose for this video, could you tell me what song it is and who it's from? I thought it was the j-trance singer MEG but I haven't found any tracks of hers that matches this song... Thanks!! and thanks for the video as well, I'm planning to apply for CIEE's Sophia program and this definitely helps!!

  • The song is Tokyo Smile by Capsule... I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Even though this was during orientation week for CIEE, almost everything in this video is stuff that me and people form the program did in our own time. Don't get me wrong, CIEE is a great program, but its because Tokyo is just so amazing.

  • Was your host family nice? Did you meet people? What do you do in Japan?

xxx I might go for the summer (2 weeks)

and I want to know about someones expierience going from CIEE :):)

  • I'm still here, and everything is amazing. My host family is very accommodating. If you study abroad in a program like CIEE, you're going to meet a lot of other foreigners that you share a common ground with but you need to make an effort to meet Japanese people (its not hard though.) Drinking is an extremely important element of socializing in Japan (comparable to the U.S., maybe even more.) So if you don't drink, you need to either start, or learn how to pretend.
