This is the coolest camera ive had. Small cheap light and good color . Skin tones are better on the olympus and as far as the noise i use the master 2 software, this really takes care of most of the noise. Im about to shoot an engagment with this thing. I use the 25 mm pancake lens brighter and sharper. better than canon and nikon!!
I have the e410 with both kit lenses and the pancake lens. I find the sharpness of all the lenses beats the kit lenses for my Pentax K100d. By the review numbers the pancake and kit lens are resolving the same, but there is crispness (IMHO) to images from the 25 that is not nearly so prononced in the 14-42.I find K100d far heavier and too bulky for me at least; the e410 has gotten far more use.
i have the e410 with the 14-42 kit lens with 2 pentax film lenses, a 50mm f/1.7 and a 70-20 f/4
great camera iv lernt so much, but its limiting me now and i want to upgrade to the new d90 or the d300 if i can find the money, but great review and i really recommend this camera to any new
I also have an E-410. The colour quality of the olympus has been rated better than nikon. The D90 is almost identice to the D80 but has face detection and HD movie mode. The D300 is a semi-proffesional camera. I was also considering moving to canon but i found the Olympus DSLR cameras get fantastic quality colours. Next month the Olympus E-30 is being released and will cost around £800 - £900. If you're going to upgrade your SLR the Olympus E-30 will be worth the money. Hope This helps.
yeah iv been looking into staying with olympus for money reasons and the e-30 and the ea-1 coming out, it just seems smarter to stay olympus. i Just needed someone to push me in that direction before i threw all my money away going to nikon or canon haha
I have no experience with the a200, but I had an a100 and really didn't like it (poor build quality over time) so I decided I didn't want Sony equipment anymore.
Well, if you don't have a lot of money, the e-410 comes with two really nice kit lenses, whereas the nikon D40 comes with a pretty meh lens. Also, the e-410 can use any 4/3 lens, even the huge pro ones, but the d40 can't use all nikon lenses, especially the high end ones. Also, the e-410 has xD and CF slots whereas the d40 only has SD.
So really, the e-410 is way better. And on top of it all, the e-410 is built better.
its wrong, the advantage of a dual card slot is laughable since they are so cheap, its a feature to forget. Noth are beginner cameras and the owner dont own other lenses and the nikkor kit lenses are better then the olympus ones. The D40 has a bigger sensor with less MP, that means the Olympus produces more noise then D40. The D40 in fact have one of the best image quality, better then the e410. If you want more MP get the D60 or D40x.
Hello, I have a e-410, and it takes pictures that looks just as good as any nikon, or cannon. I take a lot of pictures of sprint cars doing speeds of 100 mph, and with my 70-300mm zuiko lense fromm 300 feet away, they come out flawless. I think olympus is under rated, especially the E-410. Good video.
I totally agree! Most of my best pictures were taken using Olympus cameras. I love my e-410, and I was thinking of getting the 70-300 lens, how do you like it? Do you have any links to pictures you've taken with it?
next time,speak louder
