I have to agree that WVU's drumline is over rated! I am a huge WVU fan, but the line hasn't been great since the late 90's. I hope they get better. I have even talked to WVU band members who agree with me. If you want a taste of a great drumline then look into some DCI stuff! Take care everyone!
Not so clean these days, but from 2003-2005, the drumline played some notes; at least the tenors did. I came in '03, but between '04-'05, a LOT of our line graduated, and we had to start again with a much younger line. As a result, our snare and bass lines weren't as solid as the tenors, but then, tenors ARE the best.
It's funny you mention that. This summer will be my second year marching DCI. This summer will also be the first time that three WVU Quads, (07-08, 08-?, 09) will be marching three of the five spots in the Blue Stars quadline. Needless to say, only one of us three will continue to march at WVU in the future. It was fun though.
you marshall people need to get a life. just admitt that your band is almost as bad as the movie you tried to make but only got a 1 star. WVU rulz. We beat you in everything except for occasionally basketball. But who cares when we beat you 42 10 in football
Yeah, you should pass that on to the Blue Devils, Cadets, SCV, Phantom Regiment, and all those other "pussy" DCI lines who also use metronomes to warm-up... or maybe you don't know what you're talking about.
For talking so much trash, you'd think the Marshall band would be somewhat good, but no. I watched your performance from the field, and I can honestly say that you guys are horrible. From a drumline who can't even crab-step worth a damn, to an overall band that makes me what to remove my own eardrums with a spoon, Masrhall has, by far, one of the worst college band experiences you can catch these days... in fact, Marshall sucks in every avenue of life. Good job, Pride of... oh, nevermind.
I didn't realize how great of a Veterinary program you guys have down there at Marshall until this past Saturday. It's amazing that you found a way to teach cows how to twirl a baton!
