Joel must stick to the lyric repertoire: Mozart, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti and so on. He could be a master at that. His role model should be the great, legendary Alfredo Kraus.

Last month I heard Joel Prieto sing in Valencia and I was touched by his colorfull and beatifull lyric tenor voice. People that know operatic voices will know why this guy has won operalia big time and why we will hear more of him in the future. This tenor has a unique musicallity in his voice and an ability to move people by voice and stage presence.
I totally agree with you. Thiago Arancam is far superior. Thiago is a much mature artist with much more control of his instrument. Sadly, Operalia is biased in favour of Mexicans and Spaniards.
