I love Jo Frost. She's kind and loving and really cares about the children she works with and understands them, but at the same time she doesn't take any crap from them. She puts her foot down when they're being horrid.
1:07... He is saying "sorry" while laughing.... What kind of discipline is this... Pfff, the naughty zone... Obviously it doesn't work... This little prick will end up in jail anyway... Better hang him now so he won't kill, steal, rape and fraud honest people in the future...
I just have to say, I absolutely adore Jo Frost. She is amazing. I personally do not have children but I enjoy watching her show because I love watching her change peoples lives for the better. You rock JO!!
it is ONLY from the parents. i see it with my niece and nephew. they are 2 and 3 and behaving bad with their parents, and with me they are very good kids. it is all about how you treat them.
I'm thirteen now, and I dont act out anymore, but the problem with spankings, is that I am remembering from my own experiences...I'd act out, and then they'd whip me, I'd be screaming when they were finished, and that would only make them madder. EVentually I'd stop out of exhaustion and just from crying so much and usually fall asleep, but I think a time out was better because I think whippings just scare your kids into submission sometimes.
BEAT you, they just take there hand and slap your butt until they think you've learned your lesson. The thing is it just scares kids, and it doesnt teach them anything
@DarkSilverYoshi Done correctly, any kind of punishment including hitting should be done not to scare the kid of the punishment but of their actions that lead to punishment. It causes them to have forethought before doing something they know is wrong. Also done correctly they will understand the connection between their actions and the consequences and why their actions are wrong, etc, so it's not the same as the violence.
wow, you're really, hate to say it, but... dumb. dogs ARE hard to train. actually very hard to train. they dont understand you as much as ACTUAL human BEINGS do, which makes them very much harder to train. use your brain, please
Dogs are so much harder to train. You can't just tell them what to do, like not to pee where you don't want them to pee. You have to pretty much show them like 10 times what you want them to do and reward them afterwards until they get it. And if you mean the dog whisperer, he's got amazing skills with dogs.
I won't knock parents who zetz their kids. But the problem is that the parents might hit them out of anger or frustration.
The time out method is better in that it lasts longer. And taking away unnecessary toys/videogames is good too. Especially when they have TOO MANY TOYS.
i don't know why some of these kids are so bad and disruptive. i never was. i was always a good little boy. only time i was fussy was when it got hot.
Uhm..ever thought about the fact, that you came from a different family and probably did not have to act like that to get attention? It is not the kids fault. They simply react to their social environment.
i agree in a way and i disagree in a way. I think the only reason thos children act that way is simply the way the parents had raised them. Those parents tolarate way to much. Those kids could get away with murder. When i was a lil girl i never acted that way. If i had acted that way my mom would put me in a corner in my timeout chair.
My parents to this day never heard of time out. They know the belt very well though! I was a good kid but my other brothers were opposite of me, dont know how that happened.

@Gintonnikk
relax, it's just a kid. If children are not taught how to behave they won't learn it by themselves. And teaching something new takes time.
"Hang him now" unbelievable!!
I suppose you don't have kids yourself and you were always nice when you where little.
Good for you your parents had different ideas than you and didn't take your advice.

It's better to build achievement and self esteem than to take it away. Children need to learn mastery to do well in life.
