lol you may hate atdi for their music or cedric's voice but you gotta admit they really make it worth it for the audience
you see a band on stage apparently having more fun than you do is just wtf entertainment because usually it's like 50% job like i gotta do this right 50% fun but atdi... fucking 110% fun i dont give a shit if i made a mistake improvise
@DeLoused777 I disagree. I feel that Sparta took a more alternative rock approach, similar to a more modern punk which was more than apparent in ATDI, while The Mars Volta took the more traditional route with the spontaneous energy ATDI had with Cedric and Olmar.
The way I think of it, both were components of one amazing band. One was peanut, the other was jelly. Some people like it together than separate, but they are still two entities to appreciated for, at the very least, who they were.
i love how they can fuck shit up live and be soo energetic but when they start napoleon solo they all chill out and play it really good.its like they r paying their respects for cedrics friends. napoleon solo always brings out the best in cedric.
The best live version of Napoleon Solo I've been able to find, so far. The look on Cedric's face at 5:00 -- 5:02 is kind of soulcrushing, and his screaming towards the end of the song is intense.
Jim's face when he's singing at the end, and his voice, generally, when he sings, 'you know' are kind of lame, though.
It differs from show to show. Sometimes they're feeling the atmosphere. Sometimes not. In KC earlier this year, they were stagnant, and the crowd was lame. However, in St. Louis back in April, they put on the best show I've ever witnessed in person. Cedric's energy was out of hand. He basically had a seizure for 3 hours straight.
Jeez, Cedric's vocals are so perfect for Napoleon solo. It just amazes me that he can be going crazy and screaming all the time and then settle down and just sing.
yeah I didn't like cedric's vocals on chanbara very much. on napolean solo they're good because he can actually sit still long enough to catch his breath.
It's not catching his breath, reefer. he just likes tossing his damn mic around instead of singing. don't know why, he just does which makes him look like he doesn't give a fuck what he says. He just wants to be a maniac on stage.
Jim Ward is awesome!

TMV better music and live SOUND
but ATDI has better energy and presence by far
depends on which you care about more
KingTman 2 years ago 4
you can't say that tmv has better music... i love em both but prefer atdi.
the live sound i guess is true but thats mainly because it takes SOOO much energy to perform entire sets of punk songs live like that.
