The question is,,,can the Met Police really do a proper investigation on their own kind & bring them to book when their head, Sir Paul has already resigned in the face of undisputed allegations he had received a free gift of 10,000 pounds free stay at a resort ? Does Scotland Yard still have any clean cops that has the will & nerve to catch their own but corrupted kind? Do they still have the competency when they have already made silly mistakes like hiring people suspected of phone-hacking?

@NOTWPhoneHacking The way I see it, I would say the only branch of power that has not been tainted so far in this scandal, is the judiciary. The other two branches that is the police and the parliment (comprising of the PM, MPs & politicians) have already been compromised. Thus it is a good thing that the other inquiry that has been set-up by the government, will this time be led by a judge. I am afraid to say that the reputation of Scotland Yard is already in tatters after the recent hearing.

If you did not toe the Newscorp line, then they will do whatever they can to destroy you. Look at what they are doing to Gillard here in Australia, or Rudd before that. It was not that the Sun was merely supporting Blair, it was without him actively pushing whatever Murdoch wanted to push, they would have stopped him getting elected.
