Now that I watched the video, I have some things to correct. How can you say ephesians 2:8-9, and no works, then say false conversion as evidence by their works? So you judge on outward appearance? How interesting. What they confess shows where their heart is. The flesh is dead, and we are not to reckon it. And only a fool would put their child in a public school over a catholic school. I went to a catholic school, and a public school. The immorality and godlessness is off the charts.
Yes, more than grace is needed. You must believe the gospel. That is why universalism isn't true. If you do not believe, if you do not place your trust in Paul's gospel, you will die in your sin. For those that believe Paul's gospel of grace, what he called a dispensation of grace given to him for us, we are crucified with Christ and raised up. Salvation is an event, not a journey.
@TheJdecka - I'm truly sorry that you're so bitter about this. I'm going to pray for you anyway. After all, it's my time, right? From my experience, it's those that resist God's word the most that usually are the one's who need him the most. Please be at peace. God bless you.
TheJdecka - To us it's very clear. 1 Corinthians 1:18 states "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
That means that you'll never understand it unless you accept it, which you obviously haven't. I won't argue with you. That would be pointless. What I will do is pray for you. I sincerely mean that. It would be a terrifying thing for you to fall into the hands of the living God. I don't want that. God bless.
@Guitarjoe63 You know you dont need to pray for me at all...you know why? because it doesnt work because god doesnt exist. Of course its foolishness, it foolish to believe a lie like the bible...keep talking to imaginary friends and cling to your fairytales because im sure that helps you sleep at night but not me. i care about truth and thats it...
@TheJdecka Truth? What is truth without an ultimate standard of truth? If evolution is true the thought of truth is arbitrary and pointless. You would have no more rights than a frog. Science even be possible without God. One of the main drivers of Science is the uniformity of Nature. Which you cannot account for in a random chance, anything goes universe that's nothing but material.
I love the show, but I do have to comment. Yes, Ephesians 2:8 says "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." However, in Hebrews 10:26 it also states "For if we go on sinning willingly after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins."
Also, you don't mention baptism, even though it's mandatory in order to be saved. Why not? Jesus was baptized,
You Can Not And Will Never Be Able To Repent (Change Your Mind {Only}) Before Salvation, Repentance Is A Post (After) Salvation Gift (Like Any Other Gift) From GOD!
@Ninja3737 Like you stated, repentance is only a change of mind. Anyone who has placed saving faith in Christ has repented. You cannot place faith without changing your mind. Thus, repentance preceeds faith. See Mark 1;15 and Acts 20:21.
@javypez - Not True, I Could Say Go Put On Your Shoes And Socks, Does That Mean I Want You To Put On Shoes First Then Socks No, Its Only (Worded) Like Its Before Salvation In 4 places In Scripture But The Context Of All The Scriptures As A Whole Say It's After Salvation.
@javypez - If You Have A Facebook Page, Please Send Me The Address In A Message Because All That Info Is In My Notes On My Facebook And Would Be To Massive For These Posts, But Yeah I Don't Have A Problem Showing, Thats Cool With Me, You Sound Like A Kind Reasonable Person, GOD Bless
@javypez (A-1)Amen brother, you're on point! But, what so many fail to recognize (mainly because they have merely a knowledge of grace according to their own understanding, but not according to the Spirit’s revelation) therefore, they fail to grasp that faith and repentance comes of the work of the grace in the hearts and minds of them that are open to the Spirit’s revelation of grace. This divine work of revelation is the Spirit's work, quickening and making alive the believer in Christ Jesus.
@javypez (A-1)We don't repent to get saved;repentance is the fruit of the work God's grace at work in our hearts by the Holy Ghost enacting a transformation in us who accept the Spirit’s revelation of grace.(Note the term ‘quickened’(See:Ps119:49-50; Ps119:93;Eph2:1-5;Col2:13).This word ‘Quickened’ is the same as to be made alive! It is God alone who make us alive in Christ by mercy and grace carried out through His Holy Spirit, the same Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead,(1Peter 3:18).
@javypez (A-3)Many resist the Spirit's revelation of grace assuming that their mere knowledge of grace according to their own view of God's grace, thus missing God's free gift in an afford to earn God's grace by their own merits. Jesus ask His disciples, who do men say the Son of Man am?But none had the revelation that He was the Christ, but Peter was given the revelation from God.Until people stop trusting in their own understanding and stop resisting the Spirit, they will remain un-regenerated.
@javypez (A-4) It is evident, the Spirit of God has revealed God's grace to you. The letter killeth, but the Spirit gives life. 2Cor.3:6,"Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but theSpirit giveth life" God bless you brother and remain with the Spirit's influence (See:1John.2:20, 27;John.14:16-17;John.16:13-15).We who are of the Spirit agree with and are taught of those who agree with the Spirit's revelation.
Evolution is not a fact. Evolution is a speculative interpretation of scientific facts based upon philosophical assumptions. Creation is also an interpretation of scientific facts based upon philosophical assumptions. The difference is this: The creationist interpretation is internally consistent, reasonably sound, and built upon philosophical assumptions that are supported by overwhelming evidence (i.e., history, the bible, etc) [cont]
Whereas evolution is internally inconsistent (constantly filled with fudge factors to explain impossibilities), unreasonably fanciful (absurdities that require ridiculous stretches of the imagination to accept), and built upon philosophical assumptions which are either self-destructing (i.e., circular reasoning) or which have large amounts of evidence to show the assumptions are not good ones to begin with. So, which interpretation makes more sense of the facts?
@BaseSixForty Wow cool you can use big words to make it sound like you have a clue what your talking about...yet you give no examples of your claims. 90%+ of scientists accept evolution, so whats the evidence for creation BESIDES the bible?? oh and examples of evolution being "unreasonably fanciful"?? Id love to here it!...oh and please dont cut and paste from you favorite creation website please!
@TheJdecka "90% of scientists accept evolution" What? Do you know how many aspects there are to science? That is one of the most bogus statistics I've ever heard man xD More like 90% of paid evolutionists who's job depends on it, believe in evolution. Search: "100 reasons why Evolution is stupid Kent Hovind"
@RasheemH Really dude? Kent hovind? Thats who you think is an "expert" on the subject of evolution? Wake up! Kent is in jail for tax fraud right now! He has no degree, flat out lies, quote mines, uses out of date sources, ect...90% of scientists accept evolution because its fact...period. Better come at me with something better than Kent hovind what a joke...if you really believe anything he says your just as stupid as he is.
@TheJdecka You say Kent Hovind is a liar, what's wrong with lying in your world view? You cannot call someone a liar unless you had a pre conceived standard of what truth is. According to your world view there are no absolutes. So your statement is arbitrary and makes no sense.
@TheJdecka The evidence for creation is the same evidence for evolution, just approached with different philosophical assumptions. The fossil record is an amazing piece of evidence for Noah's flood - unless you assume that the rock layers were laid down over millions of years. The intricate complexity of DNA is remarkable evidence for an intelligent designer - unless you believe it was built by accident one base pair at a time. The facts are the same, it's just how you choose to view them.
@TheJdecka As for unreasonably fanciful, take abiogenesis. Proven to be false by Pasteur, evolution can't even begin without it. The odds of the minimum number of proteins required for life actually coming together on their own has been calculated to be over 10^5000 to 1. That's the equivalent of winning the Canadian national 6/49 lottery not once, not 3 times - but every single week for 13 and a half years in a row.
@TheJdecka If someone won 2 weeks in a row, you'd be suspicious. Three weeks in a row you'd claim fraud. But every week for over 13 years? That's what an evolutionist believes. It's the equivalent of flipping an American nickel in the air 1325 times in a row, and every single time it lands standing up perfectly balanced on it's edge. If you did that once, everyone would say wow. Twice in a row, no one would believe you. So my unreasonably fanciful claim stands.
@TheJdecka As for 90%+ of scientists accepting evolution, I could give you a long list of things that 90%+ of scientists once believed in history that we now know aren't true (geocentrism, the appendix is vestigial, deep canyons take a long time to form, dinosaur bone fossils can't possibly still have soft tissue in them, etc) These are just a couple of brief examples out of hundreds. In time, future generations will count the evolutionary theory of common descent among this list.
What is sin? "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4
We are saved by grace, but we have to believe on Jesus Christ, that is, be living in Jesus, to accept His grace. We don't keep His commandments to be saved but b/c we are saved. It's not about sacrificing a lifestyle, it's about what God sacrificed for us. If we are mercifully warned after speeding do we trample on his grace by speeding off? No, so why do we do that w/ God?
I really agree with it. I remember that I was born again in November 8th, 2001 at a Bible School, near Lancaster, PA. But the Bible says to make our calling and election sure. That phrase is in the now sense. It is great that I was saved in 2001, but it is more important that I am saved now.
I also cannot remember exactly when I got saved and had been wondering the exact same thing. I am very glad this episode addressed this. It was sort of a process for me I think. So I don't know when the exact time it was. A lot of people know the day they were saved and remember it like that, but I also have been bothered that I didn't have that type of experience. I feel better after having watched this. Thanks again Living Waters team!!
I love Tony's expression at 10:58. He goes like. "Wait a minute. 1 by 1?" And he tries to do the math in his head. I get such a kick out of that each time I watch it. XD
I think repentance is an every day thing and you can plead the blood over you friends and family until God turns their heart. Actually repentance is needed the second you sin, humble your self in that very moment when the holy spirit convicts you of it. I think I just learned this lesson today.
John 1:12. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 3:15. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in the finished work of Christ alone. Plus nothing. Minus nothing. Simply believe in Jesus for eternal life. John 6:47. No repentance. No works. No commitment. Just believe. Acts 16:31. John 3:16. John 5:24. FAITH ALONE!
Sin is transgression of the law (1 John 3:4) What is the law? Answer: THE TORAH. Having grace does not give us a free pass to commit adultery, nor a free pass to eat that HAM sandwich. Don't give me the Acts 10 argument. Nobody ever reads the 28th verse in that chapter. The vision had nothing to do with food. Being under Grace should compel us to try keep all of the law...not just a few of the the commandments listed in Exodus 20.
Yes, and there are differences in the law - there are certain ceremonial laws etc which no longer apply. However the moral aspects of the law - such as the commandment not to steal or murder are still relevant to us.
We obey the law out of love and devotion to God - not in an attempt to justify ourselves before God. Justification or salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone, apart from the works of the law.
@FillTheirVoid The phrases "moral law" and "ceremonial law" are not found in any bible. That is crazy theology that was invented by people who don't understand the torah. Jesus came to do away with the traditions and doctrines of MEN. Extra laws like handwashing that are not found in the Torah...and to get rid of the punishment for breaking Gods law...but not do away with it. See my channel for more info.
I would take it therefore that you do not wear any garments consisting of different sorts of thread? You don't also shave your sideburns do you? If you do you're not justified, you know? Make sure you keep the whole law - even to stone your children for disobedience.
@FillTheirVoid It doesn't say anything about different sorts of thread. It simply says do not mix wool and linen. There are clear scientific reasons why you don't mix wool and linen. Google it. Also I have a full beard. See my videos. But there is no law that says you have to have a beard, instead there are ways to keep it if you do have one. We are all guilty of breaking the law. I have salvation by faith in Jesus, but it doesn't give me excuse to break his law.
So you follow the absolute entirety of the old covenantal laws? You do not mix wool and linen, you eat only kosher, you do not shave your side burns, you observe all of the appointed feast days, you present your burnt offerings and thank offerings, you go to temple, you keep the sabbath, you are prepared to execute adulterers by stoning - etc etc? You practice circumcision etc etc
and yet you are a gentile? How exactly does that work out, lol?
@FillTheirVoid Old covenant-New covenant: Jeremiah 31:31-33 and Hebrews 8:8-10. OId or New, the laws are to be placed on our hearts...not just some of them. Yes I follow the torah to the best of my ability. I have to abide by the laws of the land that I live in. Adulterers who don't repent will have their place in the fire....just like you and me if we don't repent. Kosher is a rabbinical term and not found in the Torah. Gentile(Goyim) means "out of covenant". Are you a gentile?
@thebirdbath I am and Ive chosen to put my faith in Jesus Christ because I know by God's standards i cannot follow the laws, nobody can by new testament terms.
We as gentiles have freedom from religion and freedom in Christ.
@lilbeaveymac Of course nobody can follow the law perfectly. But we love God by keeping the commandments (1 John 3:4) Freedom in Jesus does not mean freedom to do what you want. The right heart will choose to discover the ways of God and follow them with the prime example being Christ. We are to walk as HE WALKED. (1 John 2:6) How did he walk???? HE KEPT THE LAW! When we fail in the law, his wonderful grace catches us. Get it?
@FillTheirVoid Nobody stoned their 9 year old for talking back. Go back and read it in context. It was talking about ADULT children who rebelled against the laws of the land. Instead of the judges taking justice, it was left to the parent of the young adult (over age 20) to carry it out. Its the same way with the death penalty of a murderer today expect the sentence is carried out by the state. Go back and read your Bible again.
@mcap52 Where does it say that the law(torah/instructions) written for only the Jewish people? How many tribes were at Mt. Sinai? How many of those tribes were Jewish?
The law (torah/instructions) were given to all of God's people (children of Israel) and when we repent(turn back to God) we become grafted-in and heirs to the promise of Abraham (Romans 11). See my channel for more info. Thanks!
And also it says in Colossians 1:22 - 23 "In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel." Only if we continue in the faith, only we are grounded and have our hearts settled in the Word of God, we will be presented in Holy and Unblameable before the Judgement Seat of God.
I agree with Ray and Tony. I often flinch at the term, "Once saved, Always saved." A lot of times, people used it almost as a licensed to sin. Let's say that I was born again when I was 10, and I am using that point of time to determine my Eternal Destiny. And if I go into adultery, homosexuality, or anything like that, then I wouldn't of been saved back then, but I am relying on my hope to make it to Heaven. But John 8:31 - 36 talks about when Jesus sets us free, we are free indeed. (Continued)

Faith - being a gift, is also an act of God's grace.

Being under Grace should compel us to try keep all of the law...not just a few of the the commandments listed in Exodus 20.
thebirdbath 1 month ago
@thebirdbath Wasn't the Torah basically written for the Jewish people?
mcap52 1 month ago
@mcap52
FillTheirVoid 1 month ago

FillTheirVoid 1 month ago
@FillTheirVoid It doesn't say anything about different sorts of thread. It simply says do not mix wool and linen. There are clear scientific reasons why you don't mix wool and linen. Google it. Also I have a full beard. See my videos. But there is no law that says you have to have a beard, instead there are ways to keep it if you do have one. We are all guilty of breaking the law. I have salvation by faith in Jesus, but it doesn't give me excuse to break his law.

@thebirdbath
FillTheirVoid 1 month ago
@FillTheirVoid Old covenant-New covenant: Jeremiah 31:31-33 and Hebrews 8:8-10. OId or New, the laws are to be placed on our hearts...not just some of them. Yes I follow the torah to the best of my ability. I have to abide by the laws of the land that I live in. Adulterers who don't repent will have their place in the fire....just like you and me if we don't repent. Kosher is a rabbinical term and not found in the Torah. Gentile(Goyim) means "out of covenant". Are you a gentile?
thebirdbath 1 month ago
@thebirdbath I am and Ive chosen to put my faith in Jesus Christ because I know by God's standards i cannot follow the laws, nobody can by new testament terms.
We as gentiles have freedom from religion and freedom in Christ.
lilbeaveymac 1 month ago

(Continued)
