  • Why is he dressed like he works there? Lol.

  • ya ya the crowd getting excited and joining in is one thing, but a group of degenerates howling so loud that you cant even hear ben is a bit much.

especially when ben folds changes it up every time he plays. he doesnt just rhyme off the album version everytime, but they missed out on these little tweaks and so did we cos some brainless rednecks couldnt just chill and enjoy genius. "RIGHT MAN EWWWWWWWWWW"

  • @warlockconlanabu The mood at this performance was positive and like a party. I don't think Ben or anybody in the crowd had a bad time. So I guess your criticism is that nobody sacrificed their good time to consider what you might like. Life is so hard sometimes.

  • @BenShirai ok this time i hope you take the 30 seconds to read this comment before auto-trolling. Bens originality and improvisation comes out when playing live gigs and i thought this crowd denied him any chance to add anything in cos they were screaming the cookie-cutter lyrics down his throat. meh what do i know? i wasnt fortunate enough to be there, thank you for posting this vid tho. its interesting

  • All you jack-wagons crying about the crowd singing need to stfu. This isn't a paid concert. This is in a Starbucks with about 30 people. And think about this: how many times do you see artists at huge concert arenas stop singing and hold their microphone out to the crowd to get them to sing along? All the time. They love it. The energy in this tiny room must have been unbelievable. Wish I was there.

  • what an awesome vibe !!!!!

which is what its all about at the end of the day.

audiences singing along in mass unison help achieve this.

  • wooo i looove ben folds!! holy crap, did he dress up as an employee then bust the piano out??

ahhh i think it sounds pretty awesome with the audience in it too. true, you can't really hear ben all that well, but it's good that everyone was getting into it.

lol. i love how at the end, he's like, "ok back to work"

  • Ben Folds is such a fantastic pianist! @56

  • Ben Folds at Starbucks?....Well, ya don't see that every day.....How Cool!

  • people dont perform to listen to themselves play, they perform for others enjoyment

why would the audience just sit there if they want to sing along and show their support for a great artist while having a good time? hes in a barista outfit for crying out loud its not a formal orchestral concert

  • wicked. i wish the audience would stfu though

  • Amazing. Was this a concert? Or he just dropped by and he happened to feel like jamming?

  • was this at a Starbucks

  • It's like Kidz Bop.....Bennie style.

  • i wish it was like the old days when people would shut up and listen to someone performing.

  • bad taste. audience increases the performer's will to play and makes everything better.

  • I know, right

  • @toddbolden So...about a century and a half ago? People have been screaming and singing along since, oh...the Beatles, Bo Diddley...people were quiet for symphonies, though. I, too, wish it were like the old symphony days.

  • I know people love to sing along, but don't. It absolutely kills the song.

  • Toatlly! you can't even hear him one bit!!!

  • He is AMAZING! The whole starbucks thing makes me want to vomit, but Ben Folds... I fucking love you dude!

  • He.NEVER.stops.amazing.me!

to put it simply...I adore you, Ben.

that would have rocked to be there!!

  • gotta be 5 stars

  • LOVE IT XD

  • Yet another great performance wasted because a tool yells "wooo" during the good parts.

  • now every time i hear that person yell "WOOO, YEAH!" i start laughing because i think about this comment.

  • I'm just guessing, but seeing as he is playing in a starbucks...he was prolly given the apron (it's the ones that the baristas wear)...either just as a gift or maybe he really got behind the counter and tried his hand at making a latte...

  • Yea, I'm not really excited with this one because everyone is singing...I like Ben Folds, though!

  • i wish he would come to minnesota.

  • Nice apron, Ben

  • Haha, it has a SHARPIE clipped to it! xD

  • ben folds rocks, i wish i could play as well as he can.

  • I wish you could too.

  • It's "solemn" bro. And why is Ben wearing an apron? Regardless, this is one of the best videos I've ever witnessed.

  • He looks a bit like Luigi (Mario Bro.) in that uniform lol.

  • Fantastic! I would prefer to hear Ben sing. Could not imagine being there... Way cool. Like the uniform and standard issue Sharpie. No room for cream.

  • I like how he just casually walks out of there like nothing happened

  • The guy is a freak! Love the piano work!

  • I can only imagine the enegy in that room.

  • You can feel the atmosphere just watching the clip.

    Wish I'd been there.

  • lol him*

  • i love hum too

  • This man is my idol.

  • ahahaha awesome song! i can play it on the piano but not like that. looks like ben was a little bit out done with the singing though. still awesome job!

  • when was this??? i was soo missin out. and which starbucks was it at in dallas?

  • it was at the one in the west village a couple of years ago

  • amazing

  • Awesome. Ben Folds kicks arse.
