I guess it's just a bit unnatural to have the gun remain up in the recoiled position.
During the times I have visited a rifle range, it seems that you sorta compensate for recoil instinctually, while in the game you have to make an effort to pull the mouse downwards.
Realism in games is always controversial since it's hard to get the "feel" of things exactly right. Just having to control everything with PC controls is definitely different from doing an action in real life.
If you thinks this game is just another BF2 or dumb shooting game, sure it's pointless. But if you consider this as a "combat sim" or "infantry sim", and understand what the true realism is, you'll notice this is unrealistic. I recommend you to search the videos shows real-people shooting their rifle in real combat.

Now that IS pointless. You're playing the game as a in-game "soldier". Not as a mil-geek just sitting on a front of computer screen and jerking off like "I'm a proffessional soldier!". Hence the in-game soldier should be able to do what they trained for. As I said, it's not a big deal if this is just another "shooting game". It claims "COMBAT SIMULATOR", is'n it?
yea and no matter how much training u do the gun is still going to go up wen you fire rapidly like that. and it fits the simulator concept of having to control ur gun and helps make it more realistic. and if you got a problem with it maybe u should go play BF2 and stay away from real combat simulators.
Disagree. It's totally misunderstanding of what the realistic combat simulator. I know that the gun is kicks up. But I also know it's not like that. If you have problem to understanding the meaning of the word "realism" I recommend you to join the Army and learn how to use your weapon and better to stay away from these kind of talk. I'm sure you really loving this slow paced BF2.

Watch a video from iraq and u'll see wen the soldier fires his weapons the gun kicks up and we both kno that that soldier has been trained and ur making a huge deal over a gun kicking up and dont tell me wat to fuckin do.

why you guys gets so serious to defend this game? why always try to go personal and diss ppl just because he pointed out the truth? You don't need to think you're better person than other FPS player like BF2 or CS.
Seems you've got my point about rifle's recoil. also you don't need to tell me to watch the real footage. IF I never have watched them and I don't have my friend in Iraq, I wouldn't notice these pseudo-realism and I'm sure I will blindly praising the game, just like you.
i got offended becauz u flat out said i didnt kno wat realism was and i really dont care about the other fps's if this was bf2 i would hav defended too becuz i was a fan of that game( never did play counter-strike though) it's just i've looked at some biased reader reviews and it seems ppl just get mad wen a game is too advanced for their computer and i hate wen ppl dis on a game so great like arma and the once bf2 and CS.

It's wrong that call the review as "biased" just because it's written bad things about ArmA (In fact, I've never seen any review that wrote ArmA as a bad game). Every game has it's weak points. You don't need to jump on these ppl just because he has found it. In ArmA's case, just it was unrealistic from the "combat sim" point of view. That's all.
Basically these kind of ppl never write actual "review". They just play the game 30min (or less) and say "it's crap". They jump on any game, but never play it much longer. So best to ignore them.
For the record you guys. Ak74s dont climb like that. They have pretty much no recoil to speak of.
