I spent about an hour just now fixing it and at least I can sleep without hearing that intermittent screeching noise. I'll make a video parody and a tutorial on repair as I will be fixing the downstairs one tomorrow. The screws pretty much speak for themselves. Power unit is made in China.

I have watched this infomercial myself. Correct about the photo of themselves not being generally allowed (everyone has a price)!!!! Anyhow I work with these people in the RV industry in Indiana. At one point in the commercial they call them HUMBLE!!! LOL, some of the dirtiest, fowl mouthed people I've ever spoken to. Plus they don't mention all the normal people putting these together as well...lol. Otherwise Amish Craftsmanship would be KEYSTONE RV's top selling point, which its not....

accually yes the amish do make them...... i work for heat surge..... the MANTLE is made by the amish the company i work for witch is HEAT SURGE puts the fireplace in them we own that, but the amish do build these by hand.

OK Just got mine, Love it. Its a heat suppliment. You use it with your regular heat and it heats the room your sitting in. It plainly says it on all the paper work you get. The Amish in Ohio only lay claim to the workmanship of everything around the heat unit which is made in China. Check out my video and you can see what you get and you do get what you pay for. I dont think its a rip off at all, seriously...its better than looking at a stupid space heater LOL The flames look very real!

I am going to get a second one for my bedroom. Maybe by Christmas. I honestly cant run this on High, its too hot. Two settings, High or low but then you have 15 selections of high and low on your remote control. You can also adjust the flame from low to very high and bright. After friends saw mine 7 out of 10 of them ordered theirs, the others are getting theirs at Christmas for their family rooms. I shopped arouns this was the best heat surge unit out there. I saw it first hand before buying.

The heat surge unit is made in China! They ONLY make the framework and half of its vaneer but it looks ok for the amount of money you pay. You get what you pay for. Thats just the box, the heat surge is FREE LOL

I checked into this, and the Amish do make the wooden mantles for the heaters, but the heater unit itself is made in China. The company selling them (Heat Surge) has been investigated by the Better Business Bureau in Ohio over some of their advertising claims. The "coffee maker" claim in their ads has been questioned and removed from their print ads, but BBB considers their Amish craftsman claims valid, for the wooden parts of course. I think the "Amish" stuff is really just a gimmick though.

The heaters are not made by the amish, only the mantles
