@j05baker true, I think Newton is better than Clausen but Newton is highly overrated as a QB. Why? Well I think any QB that just runs the ball in for a touchdown for 10 yards or less repeatedly and then brags about it is overrated
@Kpeg9 Umm when did Cam brag about it? And most of those goal line TD's are called. He also had 21 passing TD's. 4000 yards passing and 600 rushing first player EVER in NFL history to do that.
Ima HUGE panther fan and although I have a clausen jersey and I (want to) like clausen the fact remains that CSM gives a REAL chance at winning. I hope he stays at Carolina as a backup but chances are he'll want to be traded for a chance to start somewhere else. We still love you in SC Jimmy.

Clausen improved year-to-year while at Notre Dame despite being on a team with no 1,000-yard rushers, no defense and a subpar O-line. Yes, he had a bad rookie year, but so did Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman. Heck, Jim Plunkett's second year in the NFL was horrible and he went on to win two Super Bowls. Hopefully Clausen ends up in Indy to learn under Manning (I imagine the Colts could trade down from #1 to fill the numerous holes they have elsewhere in the lineup).

I live in Indiana about 15 miles from south bend and watching Jimmy clausen go from a freshmen at Notre dame to a player in the NFL is crazy but he wasn't that great at Notre dame he only had 2 decent records at Notre dame and one bowl appearence even his first nfl pass was a interception wasn't it

Clausen...what to say about him. I love the panthers. Always have always will. Its all about Cam Newton now. I still think Clausen will develop into a good QB. But not great. He needs confidance. The previous coaching staff did not give that to him. I think if he works on a couple things and gets some new confidance he can start day 1. But it is Cam who is the franchise QB. Clausen will eventually lose his job to him
I just don't see the confidence in Jimmy. He doesn't have bad mechanics, of course they could use some work, but he's not talentless by any means, he just doesn't seem to have the confidence in himself to make big throws and I think that the other players see that.
Jimmy used to be our ball boy when i played football in H.S. now he's a bust that makes more money than me.... i should've been a ball boy
