ahh illusion of gaia reminds of a time long forgotten in the 90's..When I could play games not worry about life or school ahaha..Now days when I play them I worrie about life and keeping up with my studys in school..90's were epic but the 80's was cool to.
This theme kinda gave me a sense of hypsiphobia. Like if I was at the same height as the sky garden, I was either going to fall and die, or get teleported to a place like this with monsters and nothing to fight them with, much less a life bar to stay alive with. o_O
first time i played this game i was 3 or 4 years old...still blows my mind when i play it,awesome game. Games you have played as a little child are the best, you can´t remember everything, but you sure as hell know you saw it before ;)
This is my favorite level because it just blows my mind.
The whole design of having a backwards garden and the song adds a level of awesomeness like its saying:Look at this amazingly built place with this amazing technology.
I still play this game sometimes on my SNES. It may be not as good as Terranigma but has the greatest soundtrack ever made for a video game. I ran through all these dungeons again and again just to listen to it once more.
What i like about this song is whenever I leave darkspace i always imagined that Will would be freaked out to be reminded that he's 10,000ft up in the air and in some cases upside down. I just think the first 20 seconds really captures that
And by the way here is my top 3 Illusion of gaia Musics:
1. ANKOR VAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!that place was the reason i never finished the game in my childhood! but i finished it about 7 years later on my emulator.
my favourite music track of the game. I really like how the music inverts, just like the level itself does, and that the game references that the comet's light creates shadow... thus there are two sides to the coin.
This area may have been simple, but damn it was fun, and the BGM never left my mind, even after all these years, after someone who owned it when it he was young and the game itself was new, known here as :"Illusion of Gaia"
Oh my God, the Sky Garden level drove me INSANE. It probably wouldn't have been quite so bad if I wasn't hell-bent on getting every single Red Jewel...
@xXVegaxIoriXx You could get an spc player and download the spc file for this and have playback FOREVER. Its awesome I do it all the time with SNES games. But yea this SNES game is definitely underrated along with other great Enix games like Brainlord, Secret of Mana and Skyblazer.

I always found this part of the game really difficult!
dlewzey 7 months ago
@dlewzey It's not difficult it's just looooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg. The boss in it is probably the easiest one.
stupidity265lol 7 months ago
@stupidity265lol Totally agree, I could beat that boss in my first attempt.
The difficult and annoying part of this level is the design of the garden that will confuse you during your quest of obtaining the crystal balls.

Good stuff bro. Now to actually play the game.

This level was so far ahead of it's time, and its still imo one of the most interesting puzzle-dungeons of all time...
I flipped the fuck out when The Garden started to fall, may as well have been falling irl, it was so intense to my tiny childish mind xD

This is probably my favorite dungeon from this game. The whole "walking on the ceiling" thing blew my mind at the time.
