  • Why does this sound like a horror movie scene

  • these sirens are werid

  • lol does it matter what siren it is? hah

  • I think the ones in southern kent county just change the volume instead of rotating.

  • I'm wondering whether than siren is an allertor, an SD-10, or maybe a P-15. You probably don't know the moidels, but can you describe what the siren heard in the video the most looks like. Is it yellow? Does it rotate?

  • @TspesVladD

from what i recall of seeing them it is in fact yellow, sort of shaped like a bell and it does rotate

  • @khristena71, cool. The funny thing is that since it rotates, it doesn't have a huge bite to it when it points toward the camara. maybe the rotator was broken that day. So, is that siren just in the subdivision, or is it on a road, outside of where you're filming?

  • @TspesVladD this siren is in a neighborhood that is across Rt 30 from my neighborhood. I keep forgetting to look exactly where it is but i am heading out later today so i will try and remember to check. there is another one located at Rt 59 and Renwick Rd. which is less than a mile from my house. It may be the one that is heard in the background? someone posted a video of that one on test morning. youtube name is bdkrma911

  • @khristena71, thanks. Schaumburg has sirens that sound just like this one, only a little higher pitched. They sound very scary. That siren in the video gets tested on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:00, right? I can picture what it looks like now.

  • @TspesVladD i believe it rotates because hearing it from here...it does get louder and softer...sounding as if its facing us and then turned away. hope that helps!!

  • What town is this in?

  • I don't think it's an allertor anymore, becuase it doesn't seem to be rotating based on the sound. It's probably a non-rotating siren. Probably is an SD-10.

  • The reason why it's hard to have an idea of what kind of siren this is is because it's hard to tell if this siren is rotating, because if it was, it would be getting louder and softer as it's getting closer to the direction of the camera. But I can't really tell if it's doing that, or if it is just blasting at full volume.

  • That's a very scary siren. It can either be an allertor, a P-10or P-15, an SD-10 possibly, an ACA Screamer, which I kind of doubt that, or it could possibly be an ACA Hollar which are pretty rare, so I doubt that.

  • oh yeah that is definately an aca allertor just by the sounds of it, do you know about how far away the siren is from your current position?

  • it's about 1/4 mile away or less. not too sure of the exact distance but i think that's a fair estimate.

  • yeah thats sounds about right from what I heard from the video

  • Sounds like a ACA Allertor

  • or a p-seires

  • my grandparents live in lockport

  • There is also a T-135 being heared faintly.

  • yes i hear a t135

  • Im having a flashback.

  • i wouldn't want to be there!

  • siren question i know the names of the siren like t bolts but wat does the numbers mean like t-135 ?? thanks

  • Those are just the different names of each specific siren.

  • oh cool ty..and is there anyway way i can find out if my city has sirens? i know we use to have them very long ago

  • Oh my gosh that T-135 in the background was so scary. It sounded like you are going to be screwed.

  • something touched down in the general town area but nothing damaged. now the tornado that hit us in 1990...that was horrific

  • I know, I've heard T-135s blend in with allertors, or whatever the other siren heard the most in this video is. It does make a pretty scary sound. But the T-135 alone isn't that scary. It's mostly just LOUD.

  • yup

  • where is this

  • about 35 miles outside of Chicago

  • Plainfield? I live near Naperville. I've nvr seen a tornado all 14 yrs of my life. They dont come by here that often. I heard they used to

  • the closer one sounds like an SD-10 becuase i hear no rotation. But the one in the backround is definitely a T-135

  • definitly not a cyclone in the background because it sounds like it's rotating, so it has to be a p50/t135.

  • RIGHT YOU ARE! I agree with you.

  • Yeah, the only way it can be an allertor, or a P-10 or 15, is if it has a broken rotator. If that were the case, then the horn would have probably been pointing toward the camera, because it seemed pretty loud. But I agree, that it's an SD-10. I remember this storm. It was one crazy severe storm that came through all of Illinois.

  • @BellyJae, actually, I just asked khristena71 to describe the siren, and khristena71 said that it rotates.

  • Either Allertor or SD-10

  • Allertor.

  • the siren sounds like a cyclone or a t-135
