  • hey Eric4373, try watching this and ZETA (素数の世界と超越者) (NemesisIIzero).

but not from the being,it about 1:15 start dare and you love it!!!!

  • marubaku ladrão

  • lol i think i also never passed the 47 seconds mark on expert course.

  • best arcade racers ever, daytona 2 (and 1), sega rally, scud race, ace driver victory lap. man these games are uncomparable to any other console racers done on xb, xb360, ps2 or ps3. they need to release these games for psn/live, i could have had the daytona 2 (2 cabs next to each other) back in the days for 1200 euros. im still pissed of i didnt buy them back them, damn.

  • i think this is not his best run... he can still do better than this...

  • This has to be one of the most beautiful racing games ever made. I don't understand why it was never ported to anything else. Either the 360 or PS3 should be able to play that without greaking a sweat, unless it was rendered in quads, like the old Model 2 games.

  • youre really good, its fun just to watch you play

  • This is New version scud race.

  • From what I know the Saturn also used quads right? If that's the case, the Saturn would've been the ideal system to do a port on,..or atleast it could've been, if it wasn't so underpowered in a few other critical areas. But I wouldn't have mind the port. Still got my Saturn too but it's about time I get some games for it hehe.

  • Make sure to put &fmt=18 at the end of the video for higher quality! No regrets!

  • This course is deceptively tough. You have all kinds of undulating corners, blind corners, maybe a few off-rhythm sections... this is a challenge. Though not as extreme as the Expert course in Daytona USA 2. You'll have to drive almost fearless to lay down consistent laps. Maintaining a perfect rhythm is key for any track, but especially here.

  • @JohnMarineTube gotta disagree with you about the comparison with Daytona USA 2. I have played both games for quite a long time, and Scud Race is much trickier because the turns are much sharper with very little room for error, such as the final one in the Expert Course. And the fact that many turns in Scud Race are closely joined translates to serious consequences if the first of these series of turns is executed poorly (think of the right-turn before the first checkpoint in Medium course).

  • I work at an arcade and play Sega Super GT all day long for free. I've played Daytona games all the time and it's great to get to play an AM2 game whenever I want. These are such underappreciated, high quality games! I've gotten a bunch of my drift buddies into the game as well, as we will put the game in endurance mode and have drift sessions (going in reverse sometimes)

  • Haha, I wish I had an arcade with all of those games. Right now I have Cruisn' World or Fast and the Furious to pick from and that's it.

  • @Eric4372

Fast n Furious is pretty fun, i enjoyed it. but the later versions were better.

  • @cbh148 NASCAR Arcade?

  • @driven5fly The Daytona games that I was referring to are Sega's Daytona USA series of games. To me, they are without a doubt some of the highest quality and most fun games ever made. They're far better than any generic NASCAR or Cruisin' game.

  • @cbh148 Nascar sucks ballz. Well, the sega one doesn't, as it is pretty much another daytona style game, but the global vr one does.

  • what you say

  • @vietqt19 Who the HELL are YOU!!!!

  • @vietqt19 - Wow...another one who doesn't read descriptions...

  • This game looks so smooth and fast to play I feel my heart rate increasng just watching

  • Good description

  • Who knows, maybe this game will come out on Xbox Live Arcade, but that's a longshot at best. Daytona 1 has been emulated pretty well already, so given a few years we may see some Model 3 emulation.

  • you can play this game on MAME but runs 1-22fps

  • Damn, I wish this (and Daytona 2) had made it to Dreamcast or something... I've always loved Sega's racers, and this looks beautiful. I remember seeing screenshots in magazines ages ago and drooling over it, but I've never been lucky enough to find a cabinet... I've at least gotten to play Daytona 2 in it's full-size, hydraulic cabinet.

Just curious, what is the music playing?

  • I've always raced the McLaren F1 here, just like the programmer... :-D

  • Its hard to believe this game came out in 1996, the draw distance and framerate are gorgeous.

  • I agree. This game looks phenomenal. I never understood why Sega never released a console home version of scud race (or Daytona USA 2) on the dreamcast.

  • Yes, I agree Scud Race/Daytona 2 were ahead of their times, but I have two reason why they weren't released:

    1. Home consoles weren't powerful enough to play them flawlessly (probably, but Model 3 sure is powerful)

    2. Sega waited too long; Sammy merger screwed them up, now they're unwilling to cater to the fans

  • hello,

    is it on dreamcast

  • Yea i see your point in saying the dreamcast probably wasent powerful enough to run either scud race or daytona 2, But it was able to run House of the Dead 2 with superior graphics to the arcade machine, Strange

  • Yeah, even if the Dreamcast is a powerful piece of equipment, I don't think it could emulate Model 3 perfectly. So, no home ports.

  • There were Model 3 games on Dreamcast though. Virtua Fighter 3tb, Sega Rally 2, Get Bass, Fighting Vipers 2, Virtual On: OT, and quite a few others. Most were perfect arcade ports, but a few (like VF3tb) had some things cut (Jackie's jacket flapping in the wind, for one), and Sega Rally 2 was for some stupid reason ported to DC using the WinCE dev kit, which wasn't as good as Sega's own and cut the DC's power by half (resource hog).

  • Man, that just sucks more. I think perhaps Model 3 racers like Daytona 2/Scud Race have a cult following but not one that Sega was willing to port for big money. That's just my guess, I mean, I never worked for Sega before.

  • The VF3 port on Dreamcast was horrible. Everything was downgraded A LOT.

  • Then if that's the case, then it's good that they didn't port it. Assuming they did port it, Sega would've said "That's it. We've already ported Scud Race. Let's never touch this game again." and we'd be stuck with a crappy DC port.

  • Yep. They even cut out the versus mode in the Japanese version. Who DOES that? Take out THE most appealing aspect of a fighting game and still expect it to move units. Sure it's VF and it's like God of Fighting Games over there, but even the most religious of a fan would call b.s on something like that, and a lot of other people other than in Japan did as well.

  • The shit with SR2 was a big mistake on Sega's part; I remember game magazines back at the time sorta questioning the DC's visual capabilities that early in the game, just b/c SR2 looked so weak compared to the arcade version.

  • Lucky you get to play it. I've only seen the game once when I was young; never got to play it at all. Looks awesome.

  • There are several SCUD race cabinets near where i live. Pitty i'm so crap at the game. Must pot down to the arcade to have a few goes (on the deluxe cabinet no less)
