i ate there a month ago expensive for crappy food tasteless acraa tasted like made with some kind of flour def not malangas, yesterday bad griot, all that is advertising save your money notting was good i took my husband there for a nice dinner i was very desapointed so much that i was almost upset poisson fri san sel san vineg,,,,tchupp i'm not even sure that a haitian person cooked that garbage
Just got back from tap tap.. Tried their griyo and yellowtail dish... Looks nothing like what was shown on the show.. When i asked why there was no sauce on the griyo as shown on tv she replied that's the way it's always been served.. Taste was disappointing, very disappointing.. Don't know if all triple d joints are over-hyped?
Wooo. I'm so proud to be Haitian. No one would ever believe how many original authentic dished prepared at my house courtesy of mom and grandma. I don't eat at those halfassed Haitian restaurants around my way, but I'd definitely eat at Tap Tap if I lived in FL
Haitian food is the best when done properly of course. The flavor just goes through you and makes you feel so so soooo good inside. So for Bnuff I can certainly agree with your comment. You have people who open restaurant not for the love of cooking but to make money. When the cooking is done with love like you see in this video you know its good. I love Indian food but not every Indian restaurant is the same. Just like not every hole in the wall is a haitian restaurant.
yo i'm not haitian, not even black, not even south american-carribean... but i live in Québec where the haitian community is big and we have a lot of markets and diners of this kind... well actually none of them seem quite as good, fresh and alive like this one! I wish i'd taste that fish! and omg the griot looked really damn juicy, brining makes the difference! (here it's mostly dry and chewy)
Haitian food = Heaven. This place looks great and the you can tell the chef loves his cooking. I would go in, poke my head in the kitchen, and ask him what I should eat that day.
OMG! I was visiting miami and my friends took me there, the food was flavorfull, full of love to die for. Fuck i'm going to live ne to TAP TAP lol. cuz you cant get that heavenly food anywhere else lol fucking awesome food! if you haven't try it yet then you haven't live seriously I recommand you people go down there and they that haitian paradise of goodness!!! now im hungry lol
wow i was wondering wen was goin to do one. .... i work at a haitian restaurant just like this in Atlantic city..... the best ever food is amazing.... i honestly thank Guy for doin this. not a lit of people no our foods like that. ...
It is amazing how great haitian food is and unfortunately we as haitian refuse to invest in it ourselves. We have the best tasting rice in the caribbean. My dream is to one day open a state of the art haitian restaurant that can compete with the other major restaurant in the industry for example bahama breeze.
@shalemar100 Yeah we need more Haitian owning upscale Haitian restaurants. It is unfortunate that an American taught of this restaurant. I wish you the best with your endeavors.
I now live in Phoenix, and I miss my Haitian food, hadn't tasted it in a year. I went to Miami on vacation a couple of weeks ago, and I had to stop at Tap Tap :-). I have a video on here of my little nephew commenting on the food. Yes, "it is the best food ever" :-) ... I guess I need to learn how to do a slideshow on here...I have tons of pics on my facebook of our visit.
@LilineSeAyisien88: Not Finally. For years Haitian Food have been Adored and Appreciated on Television, TV Shows and Blogs. Maybe you haven't seen any of the shows. These Popular Chef Shows are making Exposure even Greater to a Broader Audience (MORE PEOPLE) for many Cultures, but nothing new.
I think I passed by that restaurant when I was down in Miami a couple years back. I wish we had been able to visit the food looks soooo good. I was born in Haiti and I honestly have never tried half of that stuff. They obviously go beyond the basic traditional dishes and perhaps they add a bit of their own flair. Plus my family is seventh day adventist. A religious minority in Haiti with strict dietary practices. That means no pork, crab, shrimp, dishes.
@KushyteKing No that's how Haitian cooks, my mother make some mean Haitian food ummmm... yum yum finger licking good. I am literately drooling over this vids. I understand you a seventh day Adventist, but that is traditional kushythe king.
my hert goes out to the poor unfortunate people of haiti, i feel very sorry for you after the quake, i have donated $100 to the red cross, i am pretty poor myself, but at least i have a house, god bless.
