Hey man, I really appreciate these videos you're doing. I'm a software engineer, and found that you cut through all the technical stuff and got to the point-compiling and running an app. Keep up the good wor
When you press "back" it exits the application. In which, it deletes the all unsaved information resetting the application back to default. When you press the "home" button, it suspends the application. Therefore, you can continue where you left off just in case you didn't save.
Learning to build mobile applications is not an easy endeavor. It can be done, but you must have the drive and the aptitude (plus the time) to overcome the challenges. If you are looking to create a mobile app for your business (or idea), you would probably be smart to simply hire a qualified professional.
I know many talented (and affordable) mobile developers (freelancers and agencies). I'd be happy to provide an introduction.
my question is.... after i learn how to do a cool app and i start selling it on the market, how much does the market will charge me if im selling it for a dollar ?
thumbs up man!!!! that was lightenin fast!!!...... dont know why people go so slow...in half of there videos they talk about nothing but shit.... great share bro.... keep posting
@alco19357 dude if you listen to what he is saying, he says its fun if you don't code, till you get used to it.
since it will be stress full for beginners who doesn't know coding, to try and jump directly into it, rather then starting with just learning how to add buttons and such like he is showing. and then once they got a hang of that, they can look at the coding.
@astonishing12 super video dude, the more people we get into making apps. the cooler apps we will have in the future :p
I haven't started coding for Android, but coding is fun... It's fun when you create it and it works perfectly. I want to jump right into this... Do you actually think someone would download an application that does nothing but lets you click different UI elements? That is a no... Try coding more fun things. Think of it as a goal.
this is so out of my league :/ and yet this lil kid is so fluent with it. How in the world do you know all this? just playing around with the program??
not bad for someone of your age. i had my thumbs up all the way until the end when you said it WASNT better to code. i disagree. you are so limited in what you can do by simply using the properties tab and just playing around in eclipse. try picking up the java programming language and see where that takes you. it's a much better use of your time (and you will be rewarded in terms of the coolness of your apps) and its an incredible skill to have. other than that, well done.
its not such good practice to hard code the width/height of the widgets, if you want it to extend to the end of the screen go under the "Layout width" and select fill_parent(or wrap_content if u want it to be as long as the text inside it). you should also look into the padding option. just my two cents :P
You need to save that text you type so it wouldn't be deleted, as you are just typing like for input and indeed you did a very good job for this video you almost went through from week 2-5 Uni level tutorial!
@MrPCFree You don't need an android! There is an emulator that works so you can test out your apps on your PC/Mac without uploading them to the Android Market.
So at any point no actual programming at all... :D

Yeah, so, how would you manage the sensors? You can not build an app like lego. Its hardwork. Coding is the hard part, the 90% of work.

@tecilla08 I think the androiud market takes 20%, so you would get 80 cents for each one dollar app you sell :)
