@gogul808 It's funny how, when shallow people see something is different or challenges their knowledge of a subject, it sux or is wrong. Please find some depth. better yet, when you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk.
@donbigotone34 Glad to entertain you. Yeah, come to think of it, living here in Florida, in the Greatest Country in the WORLD, my neck has been in the sun for a while.
those arent good strikes buddy, when using the nunchaku in actual combat you hold it by the end to extend the reach. when held at the top its just a little baton to twirl
I have had 2 pare of Master Bardens chux for around a month. They are very different. Lightning fast with nice control. I have hit my nuckles good a few times but that just because i aint that good . I would love a pair with equal proportions but more weight. Any ideas?
Yeah, I've thought of tape but it looks kinda cheeszy. I have no problem with performing most of the standard moves but when it comes to the wrist flips I seem worse. Because of the lack of mass in the chucks I can't lazily roll half a chuk over my wrist and have its mass and inertia pull the other half behind it. Now to aquire the same amount of inertia I have to speed things up because of the lack of mass. I wouldnt have been able two learn those 2 handed rollovers with my old chucks.
Question for Lee Barden (I think uvmaster?). Is there anyway to get your prochux besides ordering through you? Sorry I just want to avoid paying shipping! Would they sell them in a local martial arts weapons store? (I really could find this out myself but I'd like your opinion).
No Jeff, right now I am the only place to get Lee Barden's ProChux. I have not approached any major distributors. Where are you located? send me a PM with your address and we will see what we can do.
ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT NUNCHAKU'S ARE NOT VIABLE AS A WEAPON EITHER DOSEN'T KNOW HOW TO USE THEM OR HAS'NT SEEN THEM IN REAL TIME ACTION i.E IN COMPETITION'S (FULL CONTACT) OR IN STREET SITUATIONS. TRY THEM OUT AND THEN COUNT THE LUMPS AND BUMPS ON THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD AND SEE HOW PAINFULL AND EFFECTIVE THEY CAN BE!!!
Thats what i love about them. There is very little chance in a street situation that if you loose your chux that your apponent will know how to use them against you. I practice with only live chucks so i know how bad you can hurt yourself if you dont know how to clutch properly. I tapped myself in the head with a very light swing and it hurt like hell. Im sure my full on attack swing would crush skulls like egg shells.
freinds with but to use it as a possible weapon dont think so bruce lee made the weapon famous in his films but said himself he didnt think the weapon any good in a real situation he used it for dramatic effect and thats all it is drama
You are partially right. When you have nothing else, you would be grateful for a pair of Chucks. Ask the Okinawans. I personally, if having to fight in a large battle without guns and swords and such, would rather a serious bokken and a tonfa. With no other choices I want the ProChux. The long chains are just that, for DRAMA and EFFECT. Short ropes, Deadly.
Lee, If I had to bet between you with 2 pair of prochux and an opponent with a Katana I would bet on you. Its not just the weapon, its the weapons master. You make it look a lot easier than it is. You should have been in some movies.
all i am seeing is + movements, with chucks designed to make poor chucker's {such as yourself} feel better about what there doing. you leave a bad taste in my mouth.
Because I am a dad and I have kids. I fear for their safety and the safety of the furniture and light fixtures. Yes, as a kid I did it the house (secretly), but now I know better.
Oh sorry. I thought you ment you shudder when you see people twiring big chucks because they're big! Ahh yeah I agree with you, even though strictly speaking i'm a kid, and I do spin nunchucks (see my art of fire video).
I know most of these patterns by different names - what Lee calls a rollover I know as a weave, what he calls an over-and-under, I know as a corkscrew.

i do the same moves with poi and glowstringing haha i didnt kno i could apply most of the same principles to nunchucks! im gonna grab myself some lol

I hate the short chain simply because it completely removes all wrist flip techniques. They are impossible with chucks like this.

Chain is too short, too easy to control. JUNK!

Ahh, the mullet. The mark of a good karate teacher in the 90s was a righteous mullet.

cinna71 3 years ago
Yeah! They are my favorite weapon since I was 7. I like chucks because they are SO easy to use and you can wow your friends with them!
:-)
dragonfist25 3 years ago
If only it was that easy for everyone -_-;
But great job. Don't think I'm bashing. Loved to learn. Just need a teacher. Course can always learn myself.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this... If you practice everyday for 1 hour you will be camera ready in only 3 months.

I think I'll take you up on that. Now just to find good Nuns.
