It is the stock Dana 35....the rear end was not made for 38' tires...I have another rear end out of a 97' ford explorer, 8.8 with disc breaks. All I have to do is put the mounting brackets on it and a few other odd and end things to make it work (same bolt pattern)
Not rare for a Jeep to shred a diff ;)

8.8 ins is a dana 44 mate. you should get a dana 60 back dana 60 front if your running 38in mate

a ford 8.8 is not a D44. i run 39.5 TSLs on my buggy with True Hi9s.

Thank God for Ebay, it only cost $26.50 in parts and about two hours to fix.....

Was it the abuse that broke it from doing that, or was it on it's last legs already?
What steps could you take to prevent that...didn't look like you were being too hard on it
