  • Hi thanks for the video very good! theres a ton of negative info online about alfalfa sprouts and sprouting in general...people soking their seeds in bleach and then boling the sprouts. The CDC is againt sprouts because of e-coli outbreaks..How true is this info? Can we trust growing sprouts as safe? how can we ensure safety?

  • thanks 4 the great info

  • @desmelbourne Thanks and let me know who is works out for you.

  • its been a year since you did the video, so you probably have learned or tried to water the seeds, with a nutrient rich solution by now..and not poured the solution down the drain, by reused it..just an fyi..

  • @KingRyltar straight up filtered water, no added chemicals.

  • do you keep them in the fridge after harvesting and what do you keep them in? I eat them on sandwiches & in wraps but I'd need mine to keep for about a week. I haven't done my own yet, been buying them from the store.

  • @greenpilgrim50 I actually keep them in the fridge in a plastic baggy and they last for around 5 days on avg. depending on the amount of moisture on them.

Hope this helps and thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Thanks for the video. What is your advise/thoughts on sun light. Is passive sun light ok though out the whole process ? Is there any benefit in keeping them in the dark before they start to green on day 4 or 5? Thanks again

  • where do you buy your jars and lids?

  • @lizsy775 You can find them at any grocery store, well at least that is the case around Indianapolis.

  • I just love sprouts. Sprouts are natures superfood and just so simple to grow.

My tip us to grow a wide variety of sprouts including Mung Bean, Chickpea, Cress the works.

    Thanks for the video.

I added it to my Sprouting Mung Beans website!

    Marty

  • @martysgarden Excellent and thanks for adding it to your site.

  • thank you so much for doing this video! I can't wait to try it. I have been sprouting lentils and mung beans. I actually made hummas from these sprouts with home made Tahini- I feel the life force as I eat them and delicious too!

  • Whoa. Thank you for your visual explanation. That was so much easier to understand than that wordy ehow stuff.

  • @aliceisms That is the power of video as compared with a text based article.
