  • i bet you are crying on ur ass..lolll

  • no, i was so drunk, could not remember writing it

  • No one sings like this except Sade. It's so beautiful. I am looking forward so much to Sade's new album at the end of 2009. I hope she will tour also.

  • "And it hurts like brand new shoes" does not ruin it; see the contrast, that's art

  • raffinata sensibilità che tocca le corde del cuore

  • I think that the name of this song is Pearls. Anyway, it is brilliant! I love Sade so much!

  • I agree with you....Sade is extremely brilliant.........The name of the song is " Cry to Heaven"

  • I've known this song by the name Pearl also

  • zo mooi ! ik hou van je Sade

  • Sade gives me goosebumps, incredible

  • This song is more than music.... It's poetry, each verse is a poem. There is so much emotion in the context of it, cleary an example of the true essence of Sade.

  • Nicely put together, you did a damn good job. Love the movie and love sade even more!!

  • sade is da shyt

  • great movie

  • Hallelujah

    Hallelujah

She cries to the heaven above

There is a stone in my heart

She lives a life she didn't choose

And it hurts like brand-new shoes

  • Sort of ruins it with the "brand new shoes"

  • Not really. What it does is put emphasis on the stark juxtaposition between the concerns of the impoverished and the well off. Think about it! While a western woman is complaining about how her new shoes hurt her feet, a poor third world woman has much more to complain about! It's called irony!

  • I understand the irony in the lyrics.

However I disregarded the irony and implications as I listened to this song and found the lyrics to be incoherently matched with the mood of the song. But that's opinionated. The exerpt merely stood out to me the most.

  • There is a woman in somalia

The sun gives her no mercy

The same sky we lay under

    Burns her to the bone

    Long as afternoon shaddows

It's gonna take her to get home

    Each grain carefully wrapped up

    Pearls for her little girl

  • She cries to the heaven above

There is a stone in my heart

She lives a life she didn't choose

And it hurts like brand-new shoes

    Hurts like brand-new shoes

  • Sade-Pearls

There is a woman in somalia

Scraping for pearls on the roadside

There's a force stronger than nature

    Keeps her will alive

    That's how she's dying

    She's dying to survive

Don't know what she's made of

I would like to be that brave

  • I feel ya, i love this song.hurts like brand new shoes
